Flushed enough?

uptown4life
uptown4lifestarted grow question a year ago
I did a flush on Sun. 12/17 and final runoff was down to 140 ppm from 900 ppm, Would it be better to give another flush{which is no problem if needed} or is it good enough to harvest if trichomes look ready? Also leaves are not fully fall colors{yellow}

You confusing rincing and flushing. Flushing is overwatering your plants in order to remove used water and mainly salt from the soil. But without salt, the plant can't properly absord water. That's why, when you flush the plant to solve a root issue, you restart to feeding nutrients right after. Rincing, is stopping adding fertilisers to the water in order to let the plant use the remaining nutrients in the soil (rincing solution help by keeping magnesium intake). You still have to respect the wet/dry cycle between watering and the soil should be dry when you cut. If you harvest a plant completly wet, it'll affect the taste and maybe the color of the hashes. That's why people think they need extended time after a final flush, not because it have a direct impact on the taste, but because the plant is overwatered and have hard time to recover without salt or magnesium.

When i was watching GrandMasterLevel on youtube like 5-7 years ago , his target was 150 or below, that counted as good flush. There is big debate about this theory. Chubby, chunky girls !

Did or does it have a toxicity? A hint that too high of concentration of nutes is in the media? If not, no worries.. Zero need to flush. Flushin does not reduce mineral content of the flower mass... incontravertible fact. In fact, not that it was statistically significant but quite ironic -- a longer flush resusted in higher levels of magnesium and iron in the flow mass, lol.... it actualyl had a high mineral content, BWAHAHAH. Sorry, i love that tidbit out the research results. But, it was within normal volatility (not statistically significant to resolve as a confident correlation weak or not) that could have just been coincidentally higher but not caused by the flushing technique. Flushing is a tool. Use it in response to an observed problem. Doing a flush as you near harvest will not cause any major problems, but nor does it benefit anything, quantitatively speaking.. People that have done it for decades have "faith" in it... they ignore evidence based research and blind taste tests that show what a useless thing it truly is. If you do something for 30 years, it's difficult for many to admit doing so was not helpful and more akin to some OCD tick. trichomes pistils density of nugs use those three to determine harvest and just do it ... experiment wiht early-to-late window and find what you like. Drugs can impact people differently. e.g. Nyquil will put most people into a coma within 30minutes, but some people get hyper from it. What is good sleepy time buds for one person may not be the same for the next.. or whichever effect you are seeking.
