Any experts at there. Defoliation, does it matter if the leaf has a green stem or purple, the top of the branch or underside, pointing outwards or inwards, big or small, shorter or longer, too little or too much or just leave them alone. Any tips.

So, Defoliation can be a highly debated topic. It all depends. If this is the only plant in your tent. Much less Defoliation is needed. Points why ppl defol Light exposure to bud sites, especially is full tent Keeping down RH and allow for better air flow throughout the crop. So, if this is just 1 plant U can do energy diverting Defoliation So, the big huge fan leaves. These can be removed. It causes the smaller leaves around and up & down colas to grow, as they get bigger they draw in more energy closer to the bud. So, you need big sets of fans from the top 1-2 sets and at the bottom as they aren't blocking any top buds above nothing but soil beneath. These leaves u can leave. Pick big fan leaves, there'll be a few. That can be removed. Also, if u can leaf tuck and pull nodes out to allow light to get deeper in, stuff like this. Using your full space is a much better approach.

All leaves looking outside of canopy i leave, i use selective defoliation, despite me trying all versions of such technique. Schwazing, Grand Master Level, Miami Mango, i tried all versions, eventually came to conclusion - i am not a comercial grower, i dont have scale, i dont use smaller buds or left overs to any other than buble hash at the end, so for me all weed is important at harvest time. Leaves gives energy to plant, 0 leaves makes plant to waste energy to regrow new ones. Yes buds look more dense, but i take only few here and there during grows now.

Follow GGSTs steps. Only the big leaves and bend your lower branches away from the stem a bit to expose them to better light with better angle

You asked for an expert, so maybe one will answer. 😂 I'm only on my 4th grow. I've found the color of stems matter if you're having issues, or it could be a Genetic thing as well. The stage you're at, I'd just trim a few every couple of days that are blocking bud sites or tuck them if you can. But the general rule if you cut, cut pointing towards the middle of the plant. the ones that go outside, can still do their thing. But you should deff do a little research on what purpose each type of leaf does. At lest wait 4-5 days after a small trim. you'll find it! hope this helps! best of luck!!😁
