Purple trichomes, ready or not?

Can anyone help me judge the trichomes? Purple trichomes don’t have much information on them. I only see 3-4 harvests of the cookies ET. I’m hoping sherbert growers can help here

I got some purple trichomes on my DP Durban Pioson. I think it is mostly a genetic thing, and it was mostly the stem part of the trichome that was purple and the heads went from cloudy to amber like normal

the strain isn't relevant. How much amber do you want? that will be the strongest correlation to potency as well as your prefered thc:cbn ratio. The more amber you allow the trichomes to get, the sleepier the buzz will be. It's a personal preference you have to figure out with trial and error. 10% amber? 50%? 100%? whatever floats your boat. Maybe you just want to see a hint of amber in top colas. Remember to only look at trichomes on calyxes and not the leaves. Also, inspect multiple levels throughout plant for best guess at percent amber.

Purple is just extra flavonoids called Anthocyanins, they are fun and not very heat stable, more for eating from my understanding, some of the pigment goes into the trichomes and thats ok. judge them like other plants, Pistil dry back, Trichomes, and bud density. aorund 80% pistil dryback Mostly milky trichomes with a scattering of clear and or amber in the mix Good bud density and plant is drinking less water indicting its slowing down and finishing up. If its al that, good to chop. Also if you entering wet season and need to harvest a bit early also ok. better then bud rot and WPM issues, Clear trichomes still have tons of THC in them. cloudy and amber are degraded a bit. With all outdoor plants I tend to give them a gentle washing "bud washing" to help dislodge anything that got stuck in them. Good Luck!

Hello mates, normally you have the trichomes should be more cloudy with some amber inside. It's the same for the purple trichomes but sometimes you could see the purple instead of amber inside the droplet. Good luck and happy harvest!

We don't have to look only at the trichomes to judge. Scenescence is a good indicator of the maturity and end of life of a plant. Trichomes give you a clue as to the effects she'll have. If they are purple and you have trouble judging, look at the color of the pistilles, white? New buds that are constantly arriving? When there are no more new buds and there are very few white pistilles, it is necessary to start a flushing to cause yellowing of the foliage before harvest. Now she'll be at the top for harvest 😉✌️
