Topping or just LST?

Cauli

I am at day 14 and unsure if I should top this lady or just LST. She is already showing some pistils and I don't think she will grow really tall. What do you guys think?

High Cauli, ONLY LST!!! You do NOT top an autoflower, this does increase the yield. They do not have enough time to recover. What you want to do is to use LST and bend all the buds that grow higher then others down. When you've got every bud at the same heigt you want to bend them in a shape that the leaves do not stack on eachother. And when you look from above you want the plant as a screen of green. The ideal plant does not let light get wasted and the light from the lamp should not reach the ground. But you want enough space in between leaves that they are not stacked on each other, blocking airflow and stop moist from escaping. So bend the plant in a shape that all the buds grow on the same height, receiving the same amount of light from the lamp and all grow equally fat, sticky and juicy! Happy Growing Buddy! 💚

Hey there please read this. If your plant is starting to throw pistols do not absolutely do not top it. Plants only strech fir about 14days. Plants start to strech only a few days after throwing pistols if it has nit already started to strech. When you top a ppant already going into flower you lose out on atleast half of that time period it wld of been stretching. It will make your plant much smaller close to 50% less buds

If its an auto just LST, don't HST autos unless you know what your doing and understand that strain and have grown it before. Some autos can take it. Most can not.

You are 7-10 days into flower, so you got another ~3 weeks of growth assuming it is not stunted. All hope is not lost. I would not top it... As the lower branches grow i'd bend them outward to help reach light. It's so small that you should not cut anything off, imo. Canopy size and DLI primarily dictate yield. Training mostly spreads the growth out more so you get a greater proportion of better quality buds and lower percentage of larf. Can training eke out a few more percent? maybe, but with a small plant i'd keep it simple. No reason to risk stalling it out any more than it has. the plant looks relatively fine from what i can see in this picture. Maybe, just a genetically small plant as opposed to anything you did. Still review any beahviour/choices made and think about it, but leaves aren't a toxic mess and the internod distances are not anything of concern either. 15-25% of plants are mutants and or weak. It's always good to plant 200% of need and cull the weak. Easy to say if not spending boku bucks on seed. I use my homebrew seeds to plant the extras, which is easier to swallow. I still throw out a handful of plants i paid for, too. A more consistent outcome is worth it to me. (technically i plant 175% of need, but if it fit in a 1020 tray, i'd do 200%)

Hey man. Had a wee glance at your diaries. Looking good At this stage. I feel unless you know the strain (clones) or just the traits. Maybe top. Depending what you want to do. LST, she's a bit young. You could tie her 3/4 up like in a / more 75 degree or lower and train her as she vegs more. This is great for autos. Topping autos not so much. The LST sideways I've always gotten big autos from that as it's side a sideways canopy where you can make sure the nodes get a more even light up and down each node. Bur general LST isn't needed until you come into the stretch or pre flower stages. Just make sure all parts of your plants leaves are being hit with light. Rotating the pots every once in a while helps with static lights.. Feel free to DM me if you need help or explanation. It's pretty straightforward with autos imo. Less is more and any stress is bad.
