Defoliation how much and when?

Hi growers I'm a few years growing and I'd like to get better at defoliation. At the moment I take shoots and leaf until 2 weeks approx after flipping then I concentrate on leaf only. I'm wondering how much fan leaf do I leave until harvest?. Thank you for any help!

If the plants are not having air flow/humidity issues or light penetration issues then there's no reason to remove them, they're powering your plant so leave them alone if you can. I won't do any major defoliation after Week 3 of flower, the first few weeks are transition period. After this period, it's to stressful to do any major defoliation IMO, a few here and there would be ok. If you want to remove some for light penetration, move the leaf by hand first and see how much more light is gained, if not much then don't cut it. Too much defoliation, especially at the wrong time, can cause unwanted stress and the potential for hermies.

One thing I notice always, no matter how much I pretend I'm a hairdresser artist at defoliation with purpose, there is one thing I've noticed to always, always be true: Cola I can't reach to defoliate are always bigger, 100% of the time.

Why defoliate? For what reason? Do you have massive problems controlling extreme levels of humidity? Just remember,....... ALL of the plants energy to grow and thrive comes from the leaves. Less leaves = less energy being made = less potential growth. So, unless you want to reduce your potential yields or slow the plants growth rate down, I would recommend not defoliating at all. Defoliation is not a necessary "technique" when growing cannabis. Buds do not need direct access to light to grow, just as how fruit does not only grow on the sunny side of trees!

Plants look fine. Don't over-think it or micro-manage it. Defoliation should be done for a specific reason to avoid risk or other negative effects. Not because it's an "advanced grow technique" ... it's not new to marijuana and you don't do it if there is zero reason to do so. The default should be not defoliating a plant. Leaves are important even if they are heavily shielded. a defo just to defo or some sort of scheduled thing at predetermined time is a bad idea. it's bro-science.

I don't think any of the plants in the pic need any form of defoliation. More leaves = more energy = more buds

As much as possible. More energy for the Buds. Only reason to defo in Flower is to free some Bud sites. Removing the fan leaves just slows the plant's work in converting the sunlight.

Hey there man thw plants are looking great! I normally like to defol some around day 18 to 23 depending on the stein whenever buds starting to fourm and strech slow down. At that time I like to hit the mid section pretty hard but no more than 25% off all the fan leaves in 1 day if I need more than 25% money I want a few days to cut rhe rest. Give the plant to re allocate it's energy. That being said I checked out your photos me.snd you very much have a different set up I use a tent and jam the plants in there you have a large open area Your plants seem like they are getting good lighting they way they are if I were you if I cut Amy leaves I would only cut a few from the mid section that are directly blocking light hitting lower
