Strange leaf shape, who has encountered this and what came out as a result?

1. Am I right that it was just overwatering? 2. Who has experienced the same thing? 3. What are the chances of growing a healthy plant? I appreciate all the responses, this is very important to me, thank you!

Hey there your learning I agree your main problem is over watering correct. Although the tips of the leaves could also be from nutrient burn or possibly the soil being to hot(to many nutrients in the soil to start). If you do this 100% your plant will bounce back and be looking good. 1. Your plant is really small and has barely any roots yet and that’s a big decent size pot so it will take mostly evaporation to get the water out the pot this water cycle so it’s ok if it takes 10 to 14 days ti dry out you want to see the top soil dry as it was when it came in the bag. After a few days like 5 days or so the plant will start to be perky again then after a few days it will start to show signs of not looking quite as well as the few days b4 and you will see the soil is really dry and when you life the pot it will be extremely light. At this time is when you want to want the plant will wick it up and after 2 or so watering cycles that you do correctly most plants will start having there leaves perked up all the time. 2. Make sure not to over do the nutrients when you water thinking it’s been away sense you watered on your next watering you can give whatever the lowest dose your veg nutrient has listed on the bottle and you will be fine 3. Dial back your light intensity for a week sometimes less if more and your plant will start to explode Happy growing Good luck

Yeah, overwatering early on can definitely lead to that kind of twisted, thick-leafed growth. It stresses the roots and can cause weird development in the first sets. But no worries – as long as new growth comes in clean and you correct the watering, the plant can grow out of it and produce fine. Loads of growers have had starts like this and still pulled great harvests. Just let her dry out well between waterings now and give her time.

Hey growmie, that leaf shape definitely looks off, and yeah, I’d say it’s probably a mild mutation, maybe triggered or made worse by early stress like overwatering or hot soil. The twisting across multiple fingers isn’t your usual pH swing or watering issue alone. If the new growth keeps coming out weird in the same pattern, it’s likely just genetics doing their thing. But even if it’s a mutation, no need to panic ,I’ve seen plants like this still grow out fine and produce solid buds. Just let it dry out properly between feeds and keep it simple for now.

mutation / less likely disease. It might grow out of it. It might continue. watering didn't cause the leaves to look like that. odd shape, seration all fucked up etc... I've had bad luck with leaf mutations. So, i usually thow these plants out, but it's part of my approach. I germinate more seeds than i need, so i can kill the weak without impacting my grow timeline. Some of them can come out just fine. When i've had severe leaf issues with funky development that stuck around as it matured, i've had shitty outcomes, so at the very least it increases chance of a bad outcome. a little variegation or some funky intial 2-3 sets of leaves i don't mind. but if the leaves are severely mutated i toss it.
