Do boosters truly make a noticeable difference in flower quality?

Hi, I’ve been growing for quite a while. Recently, I’ve been using only TA Tripart without any boosters or additional nutrient additives, and the results in DWC have been great. My question is: do all those boosters really make a difference in flower quality?

a well rounded feed will do wonder that a booster can only hope to achieve. part the feed part the genetics of the plant. Give a retard 1 million dollars and he becomes the President and destroys a country. give a smart banker 1 million dollars and they will turn a profit on it and live happy. Grain of salt with any claims they make on the package as cannabis is a sketchy area of sales and misinformation marketing. Just look at all the garbage around green sensation product, or how they market it.... "has a special form of carbon that boosts plants " like fuck right off. cant answer simple questions of what are the ingredients, massive red flag from shit companies.

I don't know if they work. it's all heavy on the P&K anyway. If your current flower mix is balanced why adjust it more. Senescence will start and you land up harvesting several weeks earlier than you anticipated Fifty years ago I tried adding P to the mix - got crimson frothing stalks and stems. Didn't lose the crop but I sure messed them up. Like a fool, once again I tried extra P&K last grow. I added 0.07 ml each, plants went to the start of toxicity and matured 3 weeks earlier than expected. If you do it go very lightly. Best not chase the booster = bigger flower mindset.

I use the same nutrients in DWC. Along with several additives. They make a difference. Do a little research and make your own conclusions though. They will cost a little extra cash. But when does good smoke ever get grown on the cheap?

Most of the time the conditions for growth are limited by environmental conditions, 9 cardinal rules of plant growth. Doesn't matter if you give her 40moles per day if stomatal conductance is gimped to 30% for entire grow. The entire production line of the day night cycle runs at that 30%. Before you worry about any boosters or extra nutrients you should really work on optimizing environment and setting up a efficent water cycle between the different process of day and night. Boosters will only help if the conditions for growth exist. Once the cycle is running efficiently then boosters will increase quality drastically. Add boosters on 75%rh overnight, 5% of light harvested will be processed, entire growth is limited to that 5%. Growth for a plant is how much shit you can get done in a cycle. Correct vpd with good negative pressure will increase yields up to 20% with that alone. Adding co2 increase yields another 20%. Yes ofc boosters help but first not if plant doesn't need or is incapable of using the extra boost. Gluck.

It really just depends. Hormones, pigments, enzymes, aminos, silica, cleaning agents, ferments, microbes, and more all have their place in grow rooms. I think most people's use of specialty additives are similar to doing a rain dance and burning your money as a ritual. For example, I do a UV-A supplemented tent for funsies. That tent always gets free pigments added into the solution, it helps the plants be more amenable to the harsh light. For example, I like growing that stanky/dank/gas/no-denying what that is type flower, which usually means I supplement with sulfur additives because most lineups don't have enough to grow really gassy strains out. Where folks lose me is when their nutrient line drops a new bottle of magic blah blah blah every two months, then next thing they know they have like five grand worth of advanced in their basement across 28 powders and 79 bottles. That is complete nonsense, you'd be better served literally buying macros and micros in single-source at that point.

Some boosters can make a difference but its very rare that they make a difference to the quality. Most boosters help with health/strength.For the most part they're plant extracts.Decades of experience has shown me that Bat Guano makes the biggest differnce with the quality of the flower.Guanokalong have a liguid versoin labled as a taste improver and it really does work. The old saying goes "without the bat the taste is flat".Its more than just a booster/taste improver,Its high in P Phosphorus which gives the plant energy to build flowe which is why the horticulture industry use PL boosters. They smash their tomatos/peppers with high amounts of phosphorus and potassium which increases the size of the fruit but too much of the salt based man made PK can ruin the taste but it gives you massive buds.Guano is around 15% P.Ash is great for K Potassium which is as high as 30% but organics are as agressive as mam made mineral. You buds will improve in size and quality if you use the correct minerals and stimulants.Advanced Nutrients Big Bud is nice and gently with the P and K being under 5%.Some are 50-40 which give you huge buds but ruin the taste.

Great question — and it's one a lot of experienced growers ask once they’ve nailed down the basics. Using only TA (Terra Aquatica) TriPart in DWC can absolutely give excellent results. It's a complete 3-part system that, when used correctly, provides all the essential macro and micronutrients. Many successful growers stick to base nutrients alone and still get potent, high-yielding harvests. So, do boosters make a difference in flower quality? Yes — but it depends. When Boosters Can Help: Optimized genetics + environment: If you're already maximizing your plant’s potential (great light, environment, and training), bloom boosters can fine-tune yields, resin production, and terpene profiles. Specialized boosters like: PK boosters (like TA FinalPart or similar) can bulk up flowers. Carbohydrate additives may support microbial life in soil/coco (less relevant in sterile DWC). Silica, amino acids, or enzymes can improve stress resistance, root health, or nutrient uptake. When Boosters Might Not Be Worth It: If your base nutrient regimen (like TA TriPart) is dialed in and your plants look happy and healthy, boosters might not bring a huge improvement. In sterile hydro setups like DWC, many boosters meant for soil/coco (like organic teas or microbe-based products) don’t add much value. Bottom line: Boosters can add a few percentage points of quality or weight if everything else is optimized. But they’re not magic — and many skilled growers get excellent results without them

Viel erfolg
