Sun and autos

Do autoflowers need all the intensity of direct sunlight or their growth and potency will be the same if they have some percentage of shade from tree leaves between (12:00-17:00)? Shade from olive tree with a moderate coverage which also light will hit direct as the sun moves.

Hoe much light a plant can handle without damage is dependent on ambient co2, temp and RH. So it will vary by local environment. Outdoor plants that receive 'too much' will adapt by have less concentrated pigmentation in the leaves. In extreme cases, it may still struggle, i wouldn't rule that possibility out completely, but obviously plants outside grow and reproduce all the time, lol. Refer to a regional DLI map - should find some 'by month'. The only real concenr is if that value is too low. If it's high, the plant will adapt to it. If it is low, you just don't reach the yield potential of that particular plant. 35-40 dli is needed to max out typical ambient CO2 levels. Unlike indoor grows, you have no concern about vertical height as far as intensity of light. it is swimming in the same intensity of light form top to bottom outside. this means you should have different training strategies outside. You merely have to keep it spread out. Don't worry about it being level as that does not matter outside.

Took my ppfd metre outside in direct sun and I couldn't make sense of it lol 3000 ppfd or so. Had me wracking my brain on how a plant can even sit in that light for any length of time, Let's say you sit it out and from 6-12. 60seconds x 60minutes x6 hours = 21600 seconds. If it gets even 1500ppfd per second for the 6 hours of morning that's around 32,400,000 micro moles or 32.5 dli. 12 till 7 of diffused light should be a nice cooling off , more than enough to make up the missing dli. Everything I wrote is ofc dependant on weather but you get the idea, thing I noticed about outside is the dli is often 40,50,70, 90 dli. The "DLI cap," or the maximum daily light integral a plant can effectively utilize, is set by the plant itself, once reached plant shuts up shop for the day. Think of DLI like a bucket. The bucket represents the plant's photosynthetic capacity, and the tap (PPFD) represents the intensity of light. If the tap is turned on too high, the bucket (plant) can overflow (be damaged). Plant has mechanisms which deal with excess light, this is when it gets into stress, stress acts on the plant as a whole across many factors, so make sure she does not suffer from multiple stressors at the same time or it may push her over her tolerance level. High ec, skewed ph, drought, temps, light, smoother you can make her run the more excess light she will be able to handle before she shows signs. The guy who is doing a Scroggins and topped 6 times and us running 80 dli is going to notice drastically different responses from a perfectly ticking efficent 35-40dli. Balance. It's not a big deal until it's a big deal.

all cannabis will do better with direct sunlight but some shade throughout the day isnt a big deal. i think a basic rule is atleast 8 hours of direct light

When I do them outside there is always part of the day a tree will throw shade on them. Should be fine.
