Community Notes Feature? Some of the guidance is out of hand... What do we do to mitigate lazy and/or dangerous guidance on the site?

...folks who copy and paste questions into AIs and paste the response for a 5000 word answer with zero effort or thought. ...folks telling people ozone generators are safe to use in residential settings while understanding nothing about UV irradiation. Do we need a guard rail?

I agree, people want answers based on personal experience. Lazy, sloppy, copy and pasted googled or AI science fiction answers are the worst thing ever. It is however, an open forum and up to the idividual to decide for themselves what "advice" they choose. What we do need is an answer "down vote" button!

I believe they had a voting system before, but that just gets corrupt as fuck because people only vote based on relationships and not due to ratioanl logical deduction. People will vote based on personal bullshit even if objectively wrong. End up with groups of people cheating the system, because that's normal human behaviour.. trash-dick nonsense.

UV-B radiation at 280nm (peak UV-C 254nm) causes the destruction of ozone (O₃), breaking it down into diatomic oxygen (O₂) and atomic oxygen (O). Only when you apply UV-C 240nm or below (peak185) will you have enough energy to break the bond of diatomic oxygen (O₂) in turn creating enough atomic oxygen (O) to form any substantial amount of ozone (O₃). At ground level, atomic oxygen (single oxygen atoms) has a very short lifespan. This is because it's highly reactive and quickly combines with other molecules to form stable diatomic oxygen (O2) or other compounds. While the exact timeframe varies depending on the specific circumstances, its lifespan is typically measured in nanoseconds or picoseconds. Without the presence of 240nm all you get is lots of O₂. Low current electrolysis/photolysis of water (Ozone generator) will create (O₃), but in the presence of 280nm, photodissociation occurs and (O₃) is broken down to both a stable bond (O₂) and (O) With a picosecond lifespan. The simple solution would be an air quality reader if there were any fear. The real danger comes from increasing the level of (O₂) or a lack of proper ventilation while doing so, In the air we breathe, it's around 21% Oxygen. Once the saturation level gets to 23.5%, things get combustible. Certainly wouldn't want that to happen. This is why I caution people to avoid using "ozone generators" disguised as air purifiers to clean their air. Especially not in conjunction with UV lights in a grow, oxygen overload. Stay safe, everyone. Don't mess with UVC, or eat Tide pods, both are no no no.

i moslty stopped answering here after seeing how often bulshit answers are selected by the ops .... and that you can't discuss past the point ops selected an answer. like hashy said most people don't make the effort to even verify with a quick google search the answer given... and can't do much with the contest pushing some fellow answering everythings ...

pray to any "god" if you have one that they can think for themselves and fact check what being suggested to them. Its the internet, anyone who believes 100% of what they read on it are in fact fucking morons and you can't fix stupid.

The analogy i like is that some people like to be given fish and some like to learn how to fish. Some like simple. Some want more. I'd rather be given an answer i can apply to multiple contexts. It's more varsatile. It's adaptable. If someone just tries to give me a 'fish', this is not useful to me. It's a bandaid that doesn't actually teach me anything. there are two sides to this coin. Not everyone wants a simply bite-sized morsel that only applies to a specific context. There's nothing that can be done about bad answers. Everyone gives a piece of bad information at some point, so it's better not to worry about things you have absolutely no control over and definitely do yourself (plural not singular) at some point.

I have been a member on this site for a few years and there are lots of shit answers to questions. It is what it is. It's really up to the person asking the question to research the answers they are given.
