diatomaceous earth!... your medium is being kept too moist allowing a breeding ground for gnats and a multitude of other problems unless you get handle on it... let your soil DRY out between waterings ... learn the weight of your pot dry and wet and pick it up if it lite water it if it has some heft it is wet enough and needs to go a day or longer...spend some time online looking at proper watering practices as there is a ton of good tutorials available...look up diatomaceous earth and to use it... i can lead you towards the right direction but it is up to you to do the research to take that info and make you a better gardener...

your using a monitoring tool "yellow traps" as a solution and it does not work like that. They are attracted to yellow sure. but they also like to fuck and lay eggs first then rest. BTi or Nematoads are solutions to the problem, they are effective. BTi I think works better in soilless setups Nematodes like soil and moist environments. I've used both and they both work great I grow in soil.

Hi, fungus gnats can be really annoying. First, try keeping the substrate a bit drier, especially at the top they prefer it moist. Then of course, always use nematodes, and never throw away the runoff! Instead, give it to the plants or use it to inoculate other ones. Also, use yellow sticky traps. If the problem persists, try covering the top layer of soil with sand that almost always works really well.

Fungus Gnats in Cannabis Soil – What to Do? (Short Version) Problem: Fungus gnats lay eggs in moist soil. Larvae damage roots and stunt growth. ✅ Steps 1. Reduce watering – Let top 2–3 cm of soil dry completely. 2. Use sticky traps – Yellow cards in pots, change weekly. 3. Kill larvae biologically – Add BTI (e.g. Gnatrol, Mosquito Dunks) to water. – Use neem oil only in veg stage (can affect taste). 4. Cover the soil – Add a 1–2 cm layer of quartz sand, perlite, or vermiculite. 5. Prevention – Keep the grow area clean, use sterile soil, ventilate well. – Quarantine new plants. Dont worry my growmie.

Bti is effective. Can even use it as a preventative measure. Larva often come with substrate due to it being stored outside or infested during transportation etc... Top dress some bti or use a dunk in your reservoir and you never have a problem. The larva is what causes damage by eating roots. The adults are just annoying but don't damage anything. Kill the larva. sticky traps can help clear out the adults for your sanity. midstream, might take 7-10 days to clear it up. preventative bti will avoid it altogether.

HI Weedmaster, Sticky traps and Nematodes, for the immediate solution. For the long run though, better watering habits. Let the top 3-4 cm of soil dry out (if you are not using coco that is) before each watering. For one, that is better for the plant. Two, because fungus gnats only lay eggs in the top 1-2cm of your soil. If that soil isn't moist, the eggs won't survive and gnats will look elsewhere for a breeding ground. Hope this helps, even just a little!

Hey 👋 Sorry to hear about the gnats. There are three things you can do. 1) You already places those yellow sticky sheets. This can already help, if there are not too many of them. 2) You can spray you plant with neem oil. It is mixed in a ratio of 1/25 with a bit of soap. It works as pesticide and Fungizide… but I would not suggest to use it in flowering stage as people say it can have effects on the taste of your buds. 3) You can buy some nematodes. Try will eat the larva of those gnats (it’s not the gnats itself, it’s the larva which feeds on the roots of your plants). Once there are no further larva the nematodes die… you don’t have to remove them or something. Hope that helped. Good luck and happy growing 👊🍀
