Why do some seeds from the same pack develop faster than others?

Is there a known reason that one plant grows more blades, earlier than another plant of the same strain?
i.e. one has 7 blades on the third node's fan leaves, the others have 5 blades.
That seed also sprouted half a day earlier, so my guess is that the other seeds were older.

meosis. They aren't clones. they are offspring of sexual reproduction.
also, it's possible your own actions are causing the bulk of the variance, too. Can't just assume it is the plant. If they are all supremely healhty, then you can more safely assume it's genetics.

Hello. As was said... it's genetics.... but it's the parent and and grandparents and great grandparents genetics that are showing themselves.
Do you know anybody with alot of kids... Do they all look the same?... No... because it's all the ancestors genes that are coming out in the new baby.
Plants are the same. Feminized plants will be the most stable and regular plants will have more diversity in them, show more differences... Again it's the ancestors genes coming out.

Conversely, one would ask - why would you expect them to be the same? There is no genetic or logical reason for you to assume they would be

Yes, that's completely normal; it has to do with genetics. Each plant has a slightly different genetic makeup and grows accordingly. You can have the same strain, and still, one will mature faster than the other, and the buds will be denser, etc. But the thing with the seeds is normal too and doesn't mean they're older. I recently had 2 strains, each with 2 seeds, and both germinated with a 1-day difference for both strains. Then there are seeds that just take longer, up to 7 days, but if it takes longer than 10, then something's wrong. Good luck with your ladies!
