Simple solution: take a glass of water, pour it in a ring around the seed. Every morning, make the ring a little bigger... as soon as the first leaves are there, increase the amount to 0.5 liters. When you reach the "water ring" at the edge of the pot, you should then go by the weight of the pot. Just lift the pot, now the soil is dry and the pot is light, to this weight you only need to add a bit of plant (depending on the stage, this can be neglected) and a bit of leftover water. You do need to completely water the soil once, for that fill it with water in 10-minute intervals, 3 times with 10-15% of the pot volume. Then the pot will weigh its maximum, the difference is your watering amount, and you only need to water again when the pot is light.
