Try not to mess with a photoperiod's circadian rhythm; it's an extremely stressful thing that can cause a plant to become hermaphroditic. I've done it many times over the years; once the flower is initiated, stick to your guns. The idea of switching times to better suit nature's season was something I thought would be beneficial, possibly help plants better transition, but yeah, all it does is create seeds from the extreme stress, You wouldn't think it, but upon my study as into why such a strong response, I discovered its one of the most stressful things you can do is messs with a photoperiods circadian clock. Plants' clock becomes destabilized, out of sync, disrupted rhythms lead to altered expression of genes, lots of ROS and JA are released, kinda like ripping/resetting the clock out of a central processor, forcing a reboot. Gluck.
