Has anyone else noticed their vision decrease over time wile useing grow lights. I have noticed my vision is a little blurry durring the day time and when it’s dark outside I can’t barely see at all anymore… I’m 99% sure this is from looking at grow lights.

MoltoIt is very likely that it is not good to look at blue or UV white LEDsIt is very likely that it is not good to look at blue or UV white LEDs I think that the greatest damage was done by cell phones and smartphones.we are a distance of 20 cm 30 cm every day for more than 3-4 hours a day and then we think that staying half an hour near a light source can destroy our retina while the sun and also Brian Johnson use a strong amount of light as soon as you wake up in the morning so it is not the fact that light is harmful but it depends on the quality of the light in the Source that produced it and LEDs are not the sun unfortunately I also noticed a small reduction in my vision but I think it is also due to to our life and we no longer have distant objects to see and we only look close we will lose tenths or even just with old age so yes it can be given to us if you have white or UV lights turned on and you look at them intensely for more than half an hour reflected light can be annoying but not statistically lower tenths like smartphones a pair of sunglasses is the solution

Use a normal light and switch off the growlight when working on your plants! UV from the growlights may also accelerate the risk of skin cancers. Whatever the reason, go to a doctor or optician and get your eyes checked out, there may be other underlying causes.

Why don't you just hang a normal lamp in the grow room and turn the grow lamp off before entering when you are working inside? Before I did use a portable led that I took and placed inside the tent when working inside and when I got in then I always switched the grow lamp off before entering. Also because this light was purple and my neighbors would want to know why there is a purple party going on every night in one of my bedrooms 🤣

Don't directly look at the light same as you wouldn't look at the bright sun or if you do wear some sunglasses

Definitely a concern if you got UV - and the effect isn't even certain to be positive, whic is the kicker. And high intensity light is definitely bad for eyes, in general... your age may also be a factor. If you are getting into mid 30s or later, you may just need reading glasses. Wear a hat... don't look up. Or, get some of those protective eyeware for working on lazers. They don't look hot, but will protect your eyes. Something that blocks 95% of light is probably good. I try to make sure even my peripheral vision isn't including direct light from diodes. After being around my warmerk 2900K lights, after i left grow area i could see a green-tinted world for a short period of time.. The brain was depressing red and blue wavelengths to adjust to the intensity, then as i walked away, red/blue was still toned down, so green was exagerrated, lol. it doesn't happen anymore, so it may be the result of some damage? kinda hard to self-diagnose such things without the education and equipment needed. go to an optmetrist... any effects should be temporary, at least in short-term. Continual exposure over time could eventually cause 'something,' i'm sure. Like looking at your phone for prolonge dperiods will cause some blurry vission.. think it's the excess blue that is doing it?

Hello. UV light is known to cause cataracts, a hardening and whitening of the eye lens. Be Careful.

Yep that's why I wear sunglasses when tending to the plant and try not to look at the light. Noticed this a few years ago.

Photoelectric effect, the balance of red and blue light affects metabolism. Using devices too high in blue will skew the ratio the eye has evolved too, blue bends more than red when travelijg through a prism (human eye), this causes occular degeneration over time along with a slew of physical and mental problems.

OF COURSE - YES. Same here, after a few month with different LEDs in testmode & HDL a noticed that the nightview started to get worse. Use filter glasses like "200-2000nm Laserprotection" ( https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005008226316205.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.115.14d35c5flHWGdD&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu) for some protection. Way better than normal sunglasses. Otherwise it gets only worse - like grey star growing (which is a medical condition for legal cannabis - lol )

Yes, it ain't permanent in my case but it's been known to happen if not careful, did the mistake a few times and looked straight up lol, proper thing to do is turn the lights down when visiting or wear sunglasses. Have a good one bro ✌️♥️
