Wet paper in plastic baggy - outdated dirty practice?

The old toilet paper and plastic baggie method for germinating seeds? I did that 2 times around when I started growing my own in the mid 90s. I didn't like it, wasn't resonating with me, obvious flaws. So I started doing it differently. Whats a better EZ method for home/hobby?

According to GD, the paper towel method has 100% success rate without user error. IME, your water source, medium source, and container source are all critical. Using a paper towel roll from in the kitchen or a napkin from a store? absolutely never. using some top shelf virgin cotton sealed as sterile in single use package imported from japan? sure. using water from your 8 stage filter or from the tap? never ever ever. Using bottled water guaranteed sterile? sure. Using a baggy from the kitchen drawer? nope. A box of baggies for seeds only in a sealed bag that you never open without a full wash then donning gloves. These type of improvements on the paper towel are where anyone can get the 100% success rate. I do get a bit over the top when I am popping something rare or valuable, but I greatly prefer popping in a cup of water and then manually placing the seeds into rockwool, tease the tap out of the cube with a heater, then right into hydro for the rest of forever until she is gone...whether that be a week or three years

The seeds from ukhta came with a germination kit which uses the filter papers as well I believe. But I still use the paper towel and ziplock method. It's how I started and I've just continued that way. I've tried other methods but didn't like them as well. The main thing with paper towel is that you need to separate it from the 2 ply so thats it's just one single piece, otherwise the roots almost always grow through the paper towel.
