Hi mate First off, that strong aroma you’re describing is a fantastic sign. It tells me your terpene production is peaking and your plant’s metabolic pathways are firing on all cylinders. Getting "fat buds" is the hardest part of the journey, so pat yourself on the back—you’ve clearly managed your VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) and light intensity well enough to build some serious biomass. 🌸 The "White Hair" Dilemma... If your buds are heavy but the pistils (hairs) are still white, 10 days is likely too optimistic. Chopping now would be "pulling the cake out of the oven" while the middle is still gooey. The Problem: White pistils usually indicate the plant is still in a "swelling" phase. If you harvest now, the buds will shrink significantly during drying and lose potency. Sometimes, this "foxtailing" (new white growth on top of old growth) is caused by heat stress or light burn. If your LEDs are too close, the plant gets confused and keeps pumping out new white hairs even though the rest of the flower is mature. The Fix: The Microscope Method: Stop looking at the hairs and start looking at the trichomes (the resin glands). Use a 60x loupe. You want to see "Milky White" to "Amber" heads. If they are clear, you’re weeks away. Check Your Temps: Ensure your canopy isn't exceeding 26°C (79°F). If it's too hot, back the lights off 2–4 inches to let the plant finish ripening. The Secret Weapon: Microbes While you're waiting for those amber hues, you should think about how your rhizosphere (root zone) is finishing. Even late in the game, microbes are your best friends for flavor and "shelf life." The Microbe Boost: At this stage, I recommend a light dose of Phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria (like Bacillus megaterium). They help the plant grab those last bits of P and K to harden the flower sites. The "Flush" Myth: Instead of a pure water flush which can starve the plant, use Mycorrhizae and Beneficial Fungi (like Trichoderma). These microbes break down salt buildup in the medium and convert it into available sugars. This increases the brix level (sugar content) in the plant, leading to a much smoother smoke and a more complex scent profile. 🍯 Good luck ✌️💚

Hi, Your plant Looks massive ! Some Strains do not develop the yellow „hair“. This is also only an indication Which Shows whether you are close to harvest or not. To be sure I would Check the trichomes on your plant. Once Turned mostly milky with some amber and some clear, you are at THC Peak… This is Where I like to Chop. Hope this helps 👌👊👍

Hey Buddy, Just my humble opinion here, based on experience. I personally don’t use white hairs (pistils) as a harvest indicator. Pistils can stay white for many reasons: • genetics • environmental conditions • continued calyx swelling • stress or late flower push Some plants will keep throwing white hairs right up to harvest, especially certain autos. What I always look at instead are the trichomes. ⸻ 🔬 Why trichomes matter more than pistils Trichomes tell you: • cannabinoid maturity • terpene development • the actual chemical ripeness of the plant White hairs are mostly visual. Trichomes are biochemical. ⸻ 🌈 What to look for Using a loupe or microscope, check the trichomes on the calyxes (not sugar leaves): • Clear → too early • Mostly cloudy / milky → peak THC • Some amber → more body, heavier effect Many growers harvest when trichomes are: • mostly cloudy • with a small % of amber But that part is personal preference. ⸻ ⏳ About chopping in 10+ days Based on what you’re describing: • fat buds • strong smell • still some white hairs Yes, 10–14 days sounds reasonable, if trichomes are where you want them. That said — let the trichomes make the final call, not the calendar and not the pistils. ⸻ 🧠 Final thought There’s no single “correct” harvest window. Different harvest times = different effects. Trust your eyes, your tools, and your gut. Try it, take notes, and see what you like best. That’s how we all learn 🌱 Growers Love

calyxes aren't fully plump... long hair and mostly white.. you got time. 10 days isn't impossible. Depends on how it progresses... rate varies. Once the calyxes aren't filling out anymore, go ahead and start scoping trichomes. Before that is a waste of time.
