For experienced recreational growers, what keeps you going? Once you have harvested enough for personal use (and then some!), is it the challenge of new strains, or just duplicating a personal best grow? As I am nearing the completion of my 1st year of growing, I really enjoy the

Self satisfaction. Never stop learning. Total quality control. It is like having children to look after............saddest day ever is harvest day! The quest for "The One". Fascination with the Worlds most interesting and most perfectly "designed" plant. And the main and biggest reason...............keeping away from the moral-less underground and unscruplious market scene.

Growing marijuana has always been exciting, no other plant compares for entertainment value. End goal was always to become a guru but I don't have the stamina, networkingskillz or the attentionspan to keep the diaries comming, stresses me out to even think of updating the diaries. Now I grow just to make the end product as smooth as possible, like perfectly cured tobacco, striving for the top shelf experience; Take some sexy photos;my subjective opinion ofc xD. Last grow cycle now before moving and taking a long break, good times :)

Not growing year round is necessary for me to avoid some level of apathy or disinterest. Wasn't a problem the first couple years, but eventually the novelty wore off and it was more of a chore at that point. Now, I'm champing at the bit when I start back up.

When I have a plant running, it feels a bit like having a pet. Symbioses of 2 creatures for a certain time (until the jars are empty). So competion is not my primary motivation (no idea what my "best" strain in the past 35 years was), I still have one thing to compete with myself: Getting the best possible gram/Watt. This has potential to save energy and money, so that is a point I have an eye on ("compete myself" might be not the right words). And I like the variety of tastes and hits, whether from an old-friend-weed or the freshest genetics.

I just dont want to buy, i grew even if my stash was in kilos, because it will be some life troubles or chalanges, youll get bored and etc, so youll need a brake here and there ... But i smoke a lot, my best result was 2kg gone at begging of November, so i went 2kg+ that year, all depends ... I have friend in legal country, he dont need to grow a lot of plants, he can have constant small grow, but even he is getting borded or have holidays and stops, but not because he has too much ;)))
