in reality, none of them smell other than the leakage of the inner contents of a trichome, there is nothing to smell relative to what we associate with cannabis grow with trichome integrity in mind, minimize trichome disruption, and make the natural repair cycles (the only nuance/caveat which leads any credence to oldskool's response) easy on the plant. look at my profile for quite a fine ride with him and science understanding. dude lives indoors with an ozone generator and that is his answer to this question constantly, 'just irradiate your entire environment including your body and plants" says oldskool ozone generators are used to condition air....just not, at all in any way, like he says to use it; something like mixing in a sealed chamber, keeping your pressure deltas correct for only a one way flow the entire time, and then pushing through a carbon filter to maximize contact with ozone...just putting one in your hallway and forgetting about it (like he usually suggests) is one of the top 3 ways to guarantee yourself cancer, but i digress

In reality they all smell,I should know as Iv grown all the ones that people claim not to smell like white widow, white rhino and Northern Lights.I guess theyve googled it and have no real idea how they smell. The more bud you have the more it will smell.Keep them small and don;t grow too many at once..If my memory serves Durban Poison smells the least, its certainly one of the oldest strains youll see for sale.I think its from the 70s.Strains have got stronger and smellier as time has passed. You can mask the smell to a degree and you can destroy the smell depending on where your grow room is.A ozone Generator will destroy the odor molecule but theyre dangerous to your health as they destroy the oxygen molecule .You can smell when this happens though as it smellls like fresh rain fall which is actually what happens when it rains so its pretty easy to keep wawy from.Google "small ozone generator for hydroponics grows" and the small one should come up depending on country.Im in the UK.Iv got the small one myself and they completely destroy the smell. It smells like someones just come into the room from the rain..They also sell agents that mask the smell like plug ins and the like.Google it.

Reducing sulfur during the cultivation of cannabis is a highly effective method to decrease the "skunky" smell and complex flavor profile. Sulfur is responsible for the volatile compounds and ipp. Doing so requires detailed understanding of what you are feeding though. Not easy given most fertilizer add sulfur as byproducts without advertising. Or just keep temps a little toastier until harvest. Northern Lights and Blue Mystic, generally considered low dank strains. Absolutely not saying to cut all sulfur that's silly, sulfur is a macronutrient. Low doses tho will reduce stink when profile ramps up.

if it is illegal and you need to worry about smell, you really need carbon filters. when you start to harvest, even a low-odor plant will stink up an entire house. if it's just your personal preference not to smell it so much, maybe these suggestions will work for you, but it it is to avoid potential prosectution, it will not be effective.

I would suggest scooping the filter. They are cheap and help protect the grow and your freedom depending on where you live. Beside running a filter means better air flow= happy plants

Here are the top 9 low-smell strains renowned for keeping a low profile: 1. Northern Lights The Vibe: The undisputed champion of stealth. Aroma Profile: A very subtle blend of pine, earth, and light spice. Why it works: Bred specifically for indoor growing, this classic indica-dominant strain produces incredibly potent, resinous buds without the room-filling stench. 2. Blue Mystic The Vibe: The fruity phantom. Aroma Profile: Smells more like a blueberry bush and fresh soil than traditional cannabis. Why it works: A cross between Blueberry and Northern Lights, Blue Mystic was engineered to keep its scent tightly locked in. Its dull, fruity aroma is very easy to mistake for regular gardening flowers or a sweet candle. 3. Jack Herer The Vibe: The undercover overachiever. Aroma Profile: Sweet, earthy, and woody—often compared to caramel or pine. Why it works: This legendary sativa-dominant hybrid lacks the typical "skunky" funk entirely. It produces a very pleasant, mild scent while delivering a famously energetic and clear-headed high. 4. Master Kush The Vibe: The discreet powerhouse. Aroma Profile: A subtle, vintage blend of earth and light citrus. Why it works: Master Kush has been a staple for stealth growers for decades. It gives off a mild scent that rarely screams "weed" to the untrained nose, making it incredibly easy to manage. 5. Durban Poison The Vibe: The energizing ghost. Aroma Profile: Sweet, spicy, and slightly reminiscent of licorice or anise. Why it works: This pure sativa from South Africa is surprisingly well-behaved in the odor department during both the vegetative and flowering stages, making it a favorite for low-key outdoor and indoor grows alike. 6. Frisian Duck (or Auto Duck) The Vibe: The master of disguise. Aroma Profile: Mild, spicy pine. Why it works: This is the ultimate stealth plant. Not only does it have a very low odor, but a genetic mutation causes its leaves to grow webbed (like a duck's foot). It doesn't smell like weed, and it barely even looks like weed. 7. White Rhino The Vibe: The woody warrior. Aroma Profile: Sweet, earthy, and distinctly woody. Why it works: This heavy-hitting indica gives off a fragrance that is closer to a forest walk or burning incense than a cannabis grow. It's highly potent, but its scent is incredibly easy to mask. 8. White Widow The Vibe: The gentle giant. Aroma Profile: A soft, unassuming blend of florals and pine. Why it works: Famous for its heavy trichome production (hence the "white" in its name), White Widow manages to pack a massive punch of potency without generating an overwhelming smell. 9. Blue Dream The Vibe: The sweet daydream. Aroma Profile: Sweet berries, vanilla, and mild herbs. Why it works: Blue Dream is one of the most popular hybrids in the world, partially because its aroma leans heavily into its sweet, fruity genetics rather than pungent skunkiness.
