What’s up? Updates on my previously unfed American Cookies: Looking better IMO, what do you think? Is the lack of nutrient fixed? I also did an LST with budclips on it to help utilize the space a little bit better, did I do it right?

Hey, nice update, they definitely look better than before. From what I can see, the nutrient issue is improving. The newer growth looks healthier and greener, which is always the best sign. The yellowing on the older leaves won’t really recover, but that’s normal, what matters is that the plant is growing out of the problem, and yours seems to be doing exactly that. About your LST, you did a solid job. The idea is to open up the canopy and bring the side branches up, and you’re clearly achieving that. Those bud clips are doing their job and you’re getting a more even structure, which will help a lot later with light distribution. Just one small tip: keep an eye that the clips or ties don’t cut into the stems as they thicken. Give them a bit of room to expand. From here, I’d just keep things consistent. Don’t overcorrect with nutrients, stay balanced, and let her keep pushing new healthy growth. You’re on the right track, nice work. 🙏👌

Yes, it’s improving but not fully fixed yet—the yellowing shows it still needs consistent feeding, and your LST looks good, just keep it gentle and let her recover

Hey there. I'm going to try to answer your questions. The look of the plants: It's true, they look more vigorous and the green is more uniform. Not having fertilized yet has probably avoided an excess of nutrients (nitrogen overdose) or a pH lock in the soil. They're doing very well with the current reserves of the substrate. The "problem" seemed to be a slight saturation or a reaction to stress, which is fading. LST (Low Stress Training) with the clips: The principle: It's an excellent technique to force the plant to spread horizontally rather than vertically. This allows for a more even canopy and gives light to the secondary branches. Your photos: In the images, we can clearly see your LST clips at 90 degrees. You've bent the main stem well for the laydown. The effectiveness: Take a good look at your plants: the secondary branches (the nodes) that were underneath are now exposed to direct light. They will start to grow vertically to catch up with the main stem. Your LST is working! My points of caution: The tension: Be careful not to pinch the stem too much. With your clips, the tension is concentrated on a specific point. If the stem resists, don't force it, as it could snap. If you're in doubt, it's better to use gardening string, which distributes the tension over a wider area. Observation: Your clips are there to give direction. In a few days, the plant will have memorized this shape. You might be able to remove the clips or move them to new branches to continue structuring the plant. Fertilization: Since they look better without fertilizer, keep it up as long as the green stays nice and growth is there. Only start fertilizing (at half-dose) if you see the lower leaves starting to yellow slightly. In summary: Your American Cookies are reacting super well! Your LST is off to a good start, and not fertilizing was the right decision. Let them spread a bit more before thinking about fertilizing. I hope I could help you, and I wish you a great day.
