Why does my autoflower look behind on flowering?

Could it be because it flipped to flowering at 5 weeks of age instead of 3 or 4? 420fastbuds says that this plant should be ready to harvest at 10 weeks. The plant is mid flower at 10 weeks right now. I try to abide by the old 84 out the door rule.

Flowers grow at unique rates based on environment. Flowers can grow fast or slow and if slow, just wait. Your grow looks great!

10 weeks flowering time, not total weeks perhaps? She looks good anyway, be patient, it will be worth it.

This plant is NOT ready! 😄 Don't believe the marketing. Give her time and check the trichomes when the buds are fully developed. When all the pistils turn brown, you are close to the harvest. Looking like that in week 10 is totally fine. There is no timer for plants, let mother nature work her magic. 💩

hi.Yes, it's entirely possible and it's even an excellent thing! Fast Buds gives estimates based on perfect laboratory conditions. In reality, if an autoflower is very happy, has no stress and has space for its roots, it will delay flowering to grow more. Since it took 5 weeks of growth instead of 3, it became much larger and more robust. Obviously, its entire cycle is shifted accordingly. the 84 day rule I would say is the fairest for autoflowers. think that every plant is different. my last cherry fast bud cola took 15 weeks and I'm sure I could have left it for 1 more week. this is always a rough range. good luck and good luck

hi.... Das sind nur grobe Richtwerte , die von den Breedern unter Idealvoraussetzungen erreicht werden........ Deine Lady braucht bestimmt noch 2-3 Wochen, bis sie fertig ist...... Viel Glück

The first thing is not to take what the breeder says so literally. Clearly, this isn't a 10 week plant, so throw that out the window and don't put another thought into it. This practice seems much worse with autoflowers. It perpetuates a myth that they are somehow faster plants, but they adhere to similar timelines once you compare apples to apples based on how long they vege before going into flower phase. An autoflower still takes the same amount of variable time after flip as a photoperiod does. Larger autoflowers simply have a longer vege phase - in addition to all the normal reasons for variance in growth rates. it is also possible you delayed flower with defoliation / training choices. Not something that can be certain from 1 data point. If you methods consistently cause a longer vege phase before flower intiiates, then you can be more confident that what you do is impacting the development... stress can cause a plant to flower early too, so it may or may not be a consistent effect, either.

Attempting to rapidly compress a massive light integral into a "super day" fundamentally breaks plant physiology because the biochemistry of carbon assimilation simply cannot keep up with the fixation. Its like throwing a egg into a refrigerator and wondering why its not boiling..... 12/12 from germination. Balance. Either that you need to super ultra optimize those 6 hours with temps above 83F at night to even come close giving the plant the metabolic pathways to keep up with oxidative phosphorylation, but doing so also dramatically changes everything about a grows setup. Its easy till you know how. Vpd 10x less effective at night. DO NOT FUCKING DEFOLIATE!!!!! EVER.

Tick tock tick tock, growth is primarily dictated by how how much energy she has to play with each cycle. Each phase of growth dependant one one before it. We don't grow plants, all we do is facilitate the energy conversions. Your plants have not been cycling/converting very much energy/atp for your plant to be so small. 9 cardinal metrics for plant growth 4 above, 5 below. If any one of those 9 bottleneck, the entire plants growth is energetically bottlenecked to that %. Doesn't matter how much carbon you catch if you only convert a portion of it. You can veg photoperiods for 19 weeks and still have lanky lacklustre budlets. As soon as the flip begins the countdown begins and shenis ruthless. Fundemental principle in plant biology: the more energy you have to play with the more growth will happen. Im also aware it is a complex process that I have grossly over simplified but none the less, the principle remains: Plant biology supersedes cannabis cultivation. What is optimal for photosynthesis and carbon fixation is not optimal for cellular respiration and carbon assimilation and until one balances the fixation with assimilation and actually understand what this paragraph means you will never have fatties. Fixating for 18 hours to capture 40dli when you only assimlate 20% in the 4-6 hours of night under sub optimal conditions with 70 RH% and oversaturated soil crippling the entire assimilation of carbon to almost 0. Once all water is removed from a plant 95% to 97% of thay dry plant matter consists of carbon, oxygen and hydrogen. The other 3-5% is NPK and allll the rest. Plants look massive size, its asking alot of autoflowers in 5-7gallon pots. I believe my diary #12 iirc was 4 auto flowers 86 days, 145g dry each plant. All you need is a few tidbit tweaks to your setup those links will be massive cola. Keep on it, you are so close to the wow factor. Best of luck and very best to you on your journey of growth.

Hey MajesticMangos420, don't stress too much about the breeder's timeline because they usually list the absolute best-case scenario under perfect laboratory conditions. Since your plant took 5 weeks to flip instead of the usual 3 or 4, it just used that extra time to build a much bigger vegetative frame, which is actually a good thing for your final yield. Because it started flowering later, the entire lifecycle gets pushed back, so being in mid-flower at week 10 is completely normal for a plant that vegged longer. Forget the "84 out the door" rule for this run and just let her finish at her own pace, as she looks healthy and will need a few more weeks to really fatten up those buds. Happy Growing Growmie🌱

Ignore breeders time stamps on plants, they say 10 weeks but can be more like 12-14 weeks. The ones they tested may have finished in 10 weeks but they may have been ideal conditions and other factors.
