replacing bearings in fan

Hello guys, has anyone tried replacing the bearings in an EC fan? I want to try replacing them in a Vevor HF1000PE... Is it difficult? Has anyone done this? It’s making a slight rattling sound, and I’m 90 percent sure it’s due to the bearing.

Start with a visual inspection. Could just need cleaning and maintenance. We all face these problems along the way. I had a fan start vibrating too much and making noise. I took it apart, cleaned everything, put it back together...and viola! Runs super quiet now. No idea what exactly it was! If its already kinda fucked up, I dont mind tearing it down and looking inside.

might as well try... if this broke down after a few years of use, i'd recommend a different brand. The EC fans i bought in 2019 are still running like champs. Get a size you can run at 50-60% or less to do the job. That will help with longevity and noise. ---------------------- I only link this for the graph they display (last picture)... this is the single best way to determine fan quality in addition to preferring "EC" motors... how it handles static pressure. https://terra-bloom.com/products/terrabloom-6-inline-duct-fan-quiet-energy-saving-ec-motor-with-fully-adjustable-speed-control-for-ventilation-exhaust-garden-and-hydroponics-airflow-boosting-350-cfm-40w A lot of fans claim similar CFM per fan size, but then they fall off the map if they have to overcome minimal resistance. If they don't show a graph like this or provide one when asked, they are probably hiding something.

Good afternoon, I don't know if it will be easy to make this replacement, try lubricating the bearings... I share the opinion that it might be easier to replace the entire fan...

You got to get bones super Swiss 6 or bones reds =] just kidding. If its vevor fan id just replace it( nevermind thats not a cheap fan)if it were just a simple tent fan maybe. Even taking my honeywell floor fans apart for cleaning is a major chore and they make it so that you cannot completely remove cable which made it awkward to clean after i spend and hour or two taking apart all my fans. had some connections come loos and had to resolder one. pain in the butt. I own a few vevor things.. Talk to customer service. they should help you out. may send you a replacement since the bearings on it shouldn't really be failing

Definitely possible in principle, but I’d first make sure the rattle is actually the bearing — check the impeller for dirt/imbalance, loose housing parts and anything touching the fan. If it is the bearing, difficulty really depends on whether Vevor designed the motor to be serviceable. Some EC motors are pretty sealed up and getting to the bearings can be more trouble than it’s worth. If you open it, disconnect it completely from mains first and get the bearing number/dimensions from the existing bearing before ordering anything. If it’s still under warranty, I’d contact Vevor before opening the motor.
