If your plants stink enough, there's no amount of venting or filters that are gonna help you. Unless you have a whole dedicated room just for filtering your air. This is why we don't have skunk anymore sadly. Nothing to do with your environment cannabis just smells regardless.

Pulling through filters and exhausting outside.. make sure there is negative pressure (walls bow inward - doesn't have to be extreme). Negative pressure prevents leaks. If you still smell something, it's an ineffective filter. Some only work in 1 direction and others can be bidirectional if you flip the flanges around or whatever is necessary. Active carbon does become less effective over time - either able to empty and refill it or you have to buy a new carbon filter. Buy some duct clamps... that tape might hold up for 1-2 years, but the warmth of the tent will eventually make it gooey and a pita to clean.

So...Stop ruining your trichomes with your environment and your smell will be at an all-time minimum. Carbon filters are just putting distance from you and the smell.

You want an RVK for proper ventilation pal..these thin inline fans don't have the power to suck through a filter mostly...

Fan is connected for sucking or you push air in ? :) Try to have negative pressure inside of tent, means ehen your fan is on, walls bend into tents inside. Run fan on lower speed, but 24/0. I had fee very popular brands, like mars or infinity snd theirs filters lasted only one grow, maybe time to buy new one ?

Hey Bud, fresh air from lung room, temp + rH spikes, also air flow rate can significantly increase odor short term until carbon filter adjusted back to ambient conditions. Look for defects/leak of your tent, filter, fan etc. Good luck 🍀

It could be possible that not the connection itself has a leak but the exhaustion fan. I had the same problem with a cheap exhaustion fan which sucked air from the tent directly in and by passing the carbon filter. May it is worth placing the exhaustion fan outside of the tent?
