again odors

Hi everyone, do you think this bend is the reason it's letting odors through? The filter is new (2 weeks old), I’ve sealed everything with aluminum tape, and I really don't know what else to do... I can't believe a new filter wouldn't handle Royal Jack. Neighbours dont like smell

if there are no leaks between filter and fan and then between fan and exiting the tent, then it is 100% the filter failing to do its job. (* assumes negative pressure, too) It's not that unusual for a 'marijuana-targeted' company to be sketchy. Or, maybe had some bad luck and got a bunk filter. Hard to tell. Might be under-filled or so old that the 'active' carbon no longer reacts with the molecules that cause odor. numerous possibilities as to why... neighbors don't like the smell? Is it legal? If so, not really too much of a concern. It can't be that bad...

Yes, and possibly not running it at high enough speed (in your case speed 7+ at all times - Do NOT use the auto mode!) Rule of thumb with any pipe having something running through it: 1. Never make more than 90° angles 2. Always have at least 2.5 times of the pipe's diameter straight between bends or devices that affect flowrate (like a fan or filter) Place the filter on the left side and have a piece of ducting at 90° angle between filter and fan in the corner, then you have a smoother run with less resistance.

Hey Bud, mine looks exactly the same without problems. Keep in mind not to open tent door to frequently, odor will escape and contaminates your lung room.

You gotta remember those zippers have holes in them too, even if you have negative pressure. Some of the smell is gonna slip through the tiny holes in the tent. It's not her medically sealed you know. That bend in the ducting is not ideal either so more smells are gonna stay in there for sure if you don't have good airflow, which happens when you have Ben's in the air ducting it's substantially reduces the airflow once you start adding Bends.

The bend itself increases resistance to air exchange along with the filter. Your tent is most likely positive pressure due to this. this means air will be forcing itself out the tent. In every tent there is intake and exhaust. Your intake(passive or not) must keep up with your exhaust. When we calculate air flow what we really care about is heat exchange. Because you care about keeping smell isolated you must maintain a negative pressure on/off state at all times and must never drift into positive. Right now with a carbon filter you instantly add 50% resistance and roughly another 50% for ever 180 degree bend in duct. This resistance is met at the intake. So whatever intake you have it needs to be 3x larger (higher cfm) than you intially bargained for with another 10% for every 3ft+ of duct the air travels. This is about maintaing a negative pressure and making sure you can outpaced the latent heat generation of the lights. If you cannot exchange heat, the ambient rises far beyond what is comfortable and strips the VOC's prior to harvest. There is no odor control without correct negatige pressure. (Powerful exhaust is required for day time heat exchange, prefer to have a lighter secondary dealing with rh at nights gently rather than a heat exchange monster blasting on and off.) Best of luck.

Check haven't you left cling film or any plastic on new filter. They are wrapped when sold. Check do you exhaust or blow ;))) thats stupid, but common mistake I see you have armoured pipe, but it still can get holes, check with hanc around when fan is on max, don't you feel any leaking. In my opinion bends are bad for flow, but not for smell. There shoild be explanation. Have negative pressure in tent. That helps a lot.

Hold a smoking joint in front of it... then you'll see where it's pulling in air incorrectly. I work professionally with ventilation technology.

Yeah get the extractor outside the tent and try and keep the ducting as straight as possible but it's not a problem bent.. also take the sock off the filter if all else fails to create better airflow.. sounds like wrapping the whole extractor will help due to shit seals... Shit design.. like I said last time get an RVK extractor and you will never buy a fan like this again I promise you

Is that a spiderfarmer fan? The orange clamps are not 100% airtight.. that means the resistance through your filter is greater than that at the clamps. As a result, the fan pulls smell from the grow room. Try sealing the connection clamp as well and then compare if the smell decreases🏻 good luck

Good morning, I would place the extractor outside and the filter vertically adjusted to the tent's ceiling, using aluminum tape to seal the tent's exit...
