Grow conclusion: Growing her was pretty easy, the only real problem I had with her was due to pH fluctuation, but she grew healthy. Very bushy at first, I had a hard time spreading her out to get light into the bottom growth, it was only after the flip to flower and the stretch that allowed me to open her up into the Scrog net. I felt a bit down being forced to harvest her at Day 50 of flower, but the other plant in the tent finished super early (ready at 46F), buds were quite small but very dense and had plenty of frost, showing 100% cloudy trichomes. I did find a few nanners way late into flowering, I simply plucked them out and havn't found any seeds. I popped a 2nd Katsu Pupil seed for the next run as I really want to take her the full 8-10 weeks! Test report: Flavor and taste wise, she has a somewhat sweet and touch sour smell with some sort of cantaloupe/melon fruit front-note, very interesting and enjoyable. Effect-wise, she'll relax you but without the couch-lock or sleepiness, you'll get a wave a creativity on top of that. A friend of mine has been loving it for long juggling sessions. I wouldn't recommend this batch for any sleep problems, she'll kind of make your thoughts race, probably due to being harvested too early.

The extra head-room was nice from growing but even better for drying!

Really good final results! I'm also wondering if the use of TPS Signal didn't make the flowering period shorter this grow.

Grow conclusion: Growing her was quite easy (she got overwatered just a smidge mid-flowering) and grew perfectly in the Scrog net, I did not run into bug or mold problems either (even with borderline RH% sometimes). She did end very early as you can see and could have been harvested at day 46! After talking with the breeder, super-early finisher phenos exist but be rare, I suspect the TPS Signal and the addition of the supplemental LED light bar from RapidLED made the process even faster. Thing is, yield suffered a bit because of that: 90g for 2 months of veg isn't great, but the quality of produced flower was amazing! Overall I'm glad kept a few clones of her and still have 2 seeds, I'd totally grow her again! Test report: This PuTang Nevil Chem is such a good strain. The taste and flavor is so interesting, close to a wood lacquer with backnotes of orange tang! Look-wise she's also special, mine turned out a very deep purple and orange hairs. Effect-wise, she makes me happy and feel very uplifted with a quite a heavy sleepyness after a while (I'd imagine that's due to harvesting when she was at ~15% ambers already).

Switched to something else as soon as I ran out of the Fox Farm trio, I wanted a more organic set of nutrients and found TPS-One by TPS

What can I say besides: It just works! I wish it had more headroom, 5ft isn't much after looking ~2ft to pots and vent/light setup.

Smoke Report: The Star Pupil is a very interesting strain. Smell-wise she's complex as well but in a piney way! I'm getting a forest smell with interesting hints of basil (which is what lingers when smoking the flower). Look-wise she doesn't have exotic colors, just a lighter shade of green with nice, darker orange hairs. A bit more loose and airy than the Star Pupil. Effects, they come fast and you feel it in your upper chest. She's definitely a sativa and I wouldn't recommend consuming her in the evening or before bed. You'll feel energetic, uplifted and happy (in the same group-vibe as the Star Pupil but more pronounced) . A couple friends told me they had almost psychedelic effects after smoking it, I personally haven't experienced it. Grow Report and lessons learned: --- See Star Pupil Harvest post! ---

Smoke Report - Star Pupil: The Star Pupil is a very interesting strain. Smell-wise I've never had cannabis that smelled like that and it's quite hard to describe, I'd say she has a really nice funk in a sweet cheesy/perfumey kind of way with some pine in the back. Look-wise she's beautiful, darker shade of green with visible purple "spots" and darker orange hairs. Oh and she frosty! And when you grind it, you end up with a pile of half green pods and half purple, almost pinkish pods. Effects, This is the even more interesting part: They come fast, she's not a creeper. I'll feel relaxed but not in a couch-lock/lazy way, maybe a bit slow but still a pretty clear-headed high, if you smoke with friend there's this group happiness that happens. As I'm sampling nugs as it cures longer, I've noticed being more creative and the funk being even more complex that the first "real" smoke test (that I did 16 days into the cure). Grow Report and lessons learned: - Should have started feeding nutes way earlier, I waited till week 6, when leaves started showing P and K deficiency signs (which, from what I understand, usually show up ~4 weeks after the facts) - I should have stopped weaving branches through the SCRoG net way earlier as well, I stopped at week 3-4 of flowering so they never really stretched above the net. This caused several problems: (1) instead of spreading the nugs out they were growing into the net and close to other nugs and leaves, that meant less airflow and less light-penetration to the lower canopy; (2) the Five Star being much more of a Sativa than the Star Pupil she grew faster, she was taking more than her half of her tent and growing into the Star Pupil. - I had a lot of new variables this run, such as new lights 4 weeks in, new nutes 9 weeks in, dehumidifier added but was still able to reach 1g per watt, compared to ~0.25g/w on my first and previous run. I'd be interested in growing the Star Pupil again, but without topping her by just using LST to tie her down and get a similar result, faster. As for the Five Star, I'd definitely grow her again but not in the near future, I have plenty of sativa-leaning strains to try.
