Hey Fro5ty. One little tip for you for hydroponics. Get yourself some battery operated air pumps in case of emergency. Plants can survive without light for a while but they need their air. Otherwise, you need to be their to lift the roots out of the water every 10 minutes or so. Battery operated air pumps are cheap and will save your girls in a pinch

@GMSgrows, how long will they last without an airpump? I was thinking of getting a reserve one. In case this one breaks now, I would just add h202 to get oxygen in the water. I also saw that you commented on my question about air flow under the plants. I currently have 2 fans try’ing to blow under the plants but the plants are to low and the fans don’t get enough air under the plants. I even have a dead spot where 2 plants sit still with no movement whatsoever.

It isn't good to put h202 into the water as it kills any beneficials if used to much. Can be detrimental. With the dead spots as long as heat isn't building up in those spots you should be fine. Plants will drown very quickly without the oxygen going to the roots. Like I said, you would have to literally lift them from their pots every 10 minutes to keep them going. It would be better to remove the water at that point and just refill and empty every hour or so until the power is back.I bought a generac whole home generator so I would never have that problem. No lights out anymore...except when I want them to go out, of course..
