Youve got to be really careful with the advice you get on here as so many people talk so much shit.Where are you?Iv done a fair bit of outdoor growing myself and iV always topped my plants.I live in the UK and it doesnt really get extreme here.We may get a week or two at 32 but thats about it.Im old skool and we were taught to wait until your plant is strong,around wk4 with at least 4 nodes but you don't have to.I now do it at node 3 which can still be wk3-4.With you not having much experience Id top it no more than 3 times.Make sure you stake the plant well,give it lots of support as it will become a monster,ha.Id google it and get some good diagrams that show you but do it at node 3 and top 3 times which will give you 8 tops.You could top it again after that and get 16 tops.It deoends where youre growing it.If its in your own garden and youve got daily excess to it then youre fine.Make sure you give her lots of support.
