Se me ocurrió hacer un scrog desde ceros, aunque es solamente un piloto ya que falta una defoliación y un arreglo en la estructura, pero eso nos da a entender que este ciclo de vegetativo le falta aun varias semana, realmente lo hago para divertirme 💚🤩

What a journey it has been from seed! I made a lot of mistakes in the first few weeks of this growing journey. I feel like I had a mini-crash after finishing the first year of grad school, and although I am growing cannabis as part of my research project, I haven't been the greatest at paying attention to it. This is not an excuse. It has actually been a learning opportunity. I realized that my body needs proper schedules to function and grow, just like a plant. The problems with the plant have really been my own problems. Let's just say that a plant may be the reflection of the grower. First, the light cycles were wrong and inconsistent. I thought that I could manually control the light schedule for the plants and be alright. However, I was wrong. My sleep schedule has been very inconsistent for the past few months. Mainly because we are living through a pandemic, and secondly because I am a graduate student 😂. How naive was it of me to think that a plant could follow my own rhythms? I guess it highlights my 'plant blindness.' Second, the light intensity was low and PH levels high. In the last five days, I have learned that plants are living organisms (I knew this, but my plant blindness is quick to dismiss it, I need to stop fighting these "plant voices" (signals)) that require a proper environment to grow, similar to humans. Of course, a plant is not human, but it is alive and living. It needs water, a regular schedule (light (active) /darkness (rest), oxygen, nutrients, and an overall good environment to grow. Concern about the size of my plant at five weeks, I decided to conduct a few experiments at home. Here are my notes: Friday, July 23, 2021, I took the plant out of the tent at 6:00 AM and placed it in front of my backyard window that faces the Eastside, perfect for sunrise. On that day, I had a few errands to run, and when I arrived home, it was 2:30 PM. The sun was now hitting the West side of my house, and I had to move the plant in front of my bedroom window. At around 7:00 PM, I went to look at the plant and noticed that its leaves were looking plumpy. So, I decided to take a timelapse to see what I would be able to record. During "magic hour" (sunset), I recorded and witnessed the plant moving with the rhythms of the sun. Plant, like humans, function at their best when they are synchronized with their circadian rhythm. The pandemic has definitely disoriented us to the point that it has disrupted all of our schedules. To this day, I feel tired from everything we have all been through; how could I possibly think that a plant would thrive with such a messed-up schedule? The time lapse made me realize that the plant needs some structure to thrive, and so do I. So, as much as I like to think that I can be disciplined and follow a plant's schedule, I cannot. So, I went to the store and bought the Globe Suite smart plug to automate and schedule the light cycle to 12hrs of light and 6 hours of darkness. Saturday, July 24, 2021, the plant woke up to the set schedule of the lights. I checked on the plant first thing in the morning, around 9:30 AM. The leaves look much greener and thicker than they did the day before. Sunday, July 25, 2021. I was away overnight and did not arrive home until 2 PM. The plant looks twice the size it was on Friday! Today, I will water the plant. I got a PH test kit and realized that the way that I measured the PH level, the first few weeks was wrong 🤦‍♀️🏽. I measured the PH correctly, to 5.9, and added some Reefertilizer grow nutrients to the water. I watered from the top, distributing the water evenly around the stem. My partner pointed to me that the lights seemed dim for the stage of the plant's life. So I had my lights set at 100 watts running at 20 % 😅. I realized that I had not increased the light intensity since the first few weeks of vegetation 🤦‍♀️🏽. So I increased the intensity to 100 watts running at 60%. Monday, July 26, 2021. First check-in 7:00 AM: The plant looks like it loves all of the new changes that I have made! It is finally growing 🤗 The sun is out, but it is not as intense as it should be because tiny particles of smoke are present in our air due to the wildfires, and they create a filter that makes the human eye see the sun blood red. It is quite apocalyptic. Regardless, I decided to take the plant out from the tent and record a time-lapse. It is fascinating how much movement plants have despite showing no noticeable signs of movement (to the human eye). Tuesday, July 27, 2021. It has been five days since I have made big changes to the plant's schedule and environment. The plant is finally showing good signs of growth, and its leaves colours have changed to a deep green. I am not watering the plant today, but I am spritzing it with water. I decided to take another time-lapse of the plant, but this time inside the tent. As I was setting up the tripod for my camera, I accidentally increased the humidifier 🤦‍♀️🏽. Luckily, I noticed within a reasonable timeframe and reduced the humidity and made the environment better. I increased the light intensity to 100 watts at 100%. The plant will stay in the tent all day today because it is raining ☔️.

De groeiperiode heeft ze doorgebracht op de vensterbank in de volle zon achter het raam(vegetation). Toen ze wat groter werd en de bloemetjes uitkwamen heb ik haar in de tent geplaatst onder een ledlamp van 600 watt van aliexpress, omdat het de laatste weken voornamelijk bewolkt was. De LST heeft haar geen kwaad gedaan, ze reageerde goed op het buigen en trekken. Ik heb haar verwend met de producten van Plagron en Spa Reine mineraalwater (PH6). Omdat ik haar in een air-pot van 38 liter heb geplant had ik verwacht dat ze een veel groter wortelstelsel zou hebben, maar dit is niet het geval zoals je kan zien in het filmpje. Dit was mijn eerste grow en ben super tevreden met het eindresultaat. Heb haar geknipt en opgehangen en wanneer alles droog is zal ik dit verslag voltooien. Ben zeer benieuwd naar de smaak. Wordt vervolgd... tot snel. 18 juli | de ganja van de lijn afgehaald, dikke takken weggeknipt en gewogen. 61 gram ben ik zeer tevreden mee🙂 Zojuist de eerste joint gerookt, de smaak is zoals je van Northern Light mag verwachten echt klassiek old school, kruidig, aardeachtig en het effect is op de bank hangend voor je uit staren. Na een maand in potten curen is de smaak nog voller en lekkerder. Growdiaries rocks, geweldige concept van een wereldwijde gemeenschap van kwekers.

There are good genetics and there are genetic masterpieces. The Great Jefa is part of the second case. Truly exceptional. It is a plant that has vegetated in a graceful and regular manner, the 16 bud topping seems tailor-made for it, all 16 have been successful, I would say excellent. All this happened in a short time, I don't know if it's the topping but it was practically ready in 6-7 weeks I took it to 8 because it was still very colored with leaves but it was ready for all the rest of the signs. Milky trichomes and lots of amber ones this time I don't think anyone can accuse me of being early. Also because the advance sometimes saves lives from mold. In this regard, I would like to give the advice NOT TO DO TOO MUCH FLUSH, if the plant is already very mature, washing the roots would risk spoiling the tops. So my advice is to flush at the very first red hairs, when the flower starts to take the color away with the flush, you clean it up and finish composing the flower. The flowers are really full of resin, a wonderful foliage gave us shades of colors from dark purple to light green and the tips of all the buds and violet. The trichomes and hashish pulled off the gloves are scary. so much. lots and lots of resin. The family is sweet-sour, I know Money Maker very much like us and is embellished with Attitude's Californian genetic Runtz. Greenhouse feeding gave us satisfaction from start to finish with a clever use of Enancher. The plant is still colored because I added some bloom. A few words must be said for Greenhouse Seeds who, with this declaration work in partnership with the strains, is doing a pretty good job of clarity. Many strains are children of an unknown mother and this exposes them to a thousand defects. Strain motherfuckers aren't tough they're problematic. Congratulations to Greenhouse always masterpieces. My favorite from the new line of GHSC masters but the others are arriving... So like I said. I don't follow directions to the T. Some said wait until 3 sets of true leaves come out to transplant, but I went ahead and just moved Ting 2 from plastic cup into 2 gallon cloth pot, using Fox Farm Ocean Forest. There's some leftover coco that I had from P4Ps blend that she is nestled in. I noticed her growth slowed down just a tad compared to Ting 1, but Ting 2 is still showing healthy growth with a great color and additional leaves still coming in. Remember, Ting 2 was sown directly into the medium without paper towel since OG Ting 2 went down the drain on accident. So I'm not concerned that she's just a bit smaller than Ting 2. They sit on the windowsill where they can get some tropical sun, but I do use supplemental lighting from a $35 4 head, 200 watt, LED grow light from Amazon. No high dollar lights over here. I'm just starting out and want to harness nature as much as possible for my indoor grow. I keep lights on an 18/6 schedule. I know some people do 24 hours, but IMO, plants need actual darkness to do their biological processes, and reach their full potential. For watering, I use a spray bottle to mist and keep top soil moist, and I water directly around the seedling. I'm impressed at how the Pot4Pot plant is quickly growing. For those unfamiliar with Pot4Pot it provides you with everything you need to grow autos. It came with coco, jiffy pellet, soil, diatomaceous stuff, and some growth hormone powder to mix into top soil. I picked the small 1/2 gallon kit. This plant already looks better than the one I tried to grow in December and officially died today. I am VERY curious to see how Pot4Pot grow will compare to some good old Ocean Forest. Also wanted to note I've placed the pots in front of a window that gets fed tradewinds that have touched lush mountains and ocean spray. Totally romanticized what is just a breezy window, but for real, it's a mountain breeze which could contribute to a great tasting bud.

Entering week 5, Day 29 for the Kush XL in the back that are 18 inches tall, SolarExtreme 250 is 15" above them. The Dragon's Breath in front are at 13" tall with the ES180 hanging 19" above them. They are on a 9am-3am schedule and are fed twice daily @ around 11 am and then again at 11 pm. Have been defoliated daily, training-mainly just gently spreading them out, and today cut a low branch off both the Kush XL in back. One thing I'm doubtful of; is considering the state of their development currently; these are not 50-60 day flowering strains as Pacific Seed Bank specs. Day 31 for the Kush XL, 24 Dragons Breath, I defoliated on day 29 both plants are in stretch at the moment, if they're like most autoflowers I've grown their growth should slow week 6? and then bud development/bulking gets underway in earnest. I've moved the lights around, the solarextreme is now in front, and es180 in the back, both are 15" above the canopy. The Kush XL in the back, older than the Dragons Breath by a week are now 26"-28" tall (36" off the floor when you account for the pot & drainage grate beneath it) Dragon's Breath are 15"-16"

12/8 - Here we are at the beginning of week 10. Her buds are starting to frost up and she is definitely bulking up more than her sister, but her sister has a longer projected flowering time-frame (Heavy Sativa vs Indica). Anyways, did some minor pruning for airflow optimization and to remove some unhappy leaves from her undergrowth. They weren't yellow, but they weren't getting enough light and it was showing. Haven't done much to her this week other than top her off with Tap every other day. Seems like her feed from last week was on point as her pH and EC were solid as the water level lowered. After her first top-off, her EC started to fall as she ate more (reflected in the lower ec in the res after topping off with tap). Tapered her down to 80% strength as she is moving further along in flower and should hopefully finish sooner than her sister. If she needs a bump in her EC, I may top off with full strength nutes, but I'm going to just wait and see how she responds. Breeder's timeline reflects a ~65 day seed-to-harvest, but I can assure anyone out there growing this strain in DWC that she will not be ready in that time-frame. Currently she is sitting on day 67 and still looks like she has another 2 weeks or more. I grew her in soil before and she was ready pretty darn close to her expected time-frame (~70 days), but this strain responds to DWC differently. She didn't have slow growth or anything; just seems like she will veg longer in hydro than in soil. Not sure why. Thanks for stopping by the garden, and, as always, Happy Growing!
