Greetings my dear Jungletamers, So a major surprise came when @MarsHydroLED contacted us and asked if would like to try out their new SP 3000 light. Being a fan of Mars Hydro for years, we of course accepted their offer. We are totally in love with this light. I was when I saw it in another grower's setup and was in awe of its output and results. So with much pride and thankfulness for the presents the Universe bestowed on us, in the form of MarsHydroLEDS offer and the bountiful harvest of the last grow, (which I am thoroughly enjoying btw, such a great weed to have grown ourselves) we start out on a new adventure that we can't wait to share with you. With many lessons learned from the previous grow, a mighty producing strain in the form of Expert Seeds Gorilla Glue #4, a.k.a Expert Gorilla's and a tweaked super soil mixture, we are setting out to hopefully get over a gram per watt, preferably 1.5. The Setup A 4.5 (140 cm) x 2(70) x 6.2 (200) grow tent, giving me a .98 m2 workspace. This space is customized to my needs. A standing fan will provide airflow through the whole grow, a top fan will help guide cooler air past my lights onto the grow. 3 56 ltr pots will be the home for the plants when they are 2 weeks old, up to then in smaller jars. The Light The leading role and star of the show will be played by the Mars Hydro SP-3000, so kindly provided by MarsHydroLED, which we will test and review here and I might say, endorse. I'm very careful with who I endorse and support these days, but a company with that many wins in design, I'm talking ever since their first range came out in 2009 these guys have been raising the bar for the whole industry, I did not hesitate to support this leading brand. If you want to compete with these guys, you better bring some quality AND affordable pricing. Why do I endorse the SP-3000 without ANY hesitation? It is seriously THE BEST light on the market in this price range and size group. It has an enormously effective output in U/Mol and with 30% less energy waste comparing to older LED lights. Prove me wrong! And with a company holding a considerable market share selling thousands of units every month, competing on price and quality, one would think that customer service would suffer. Of course, also Mars Hydro is not perfect, but check the sheer amount of people that not only praise the light but also the service received, should the light somehow not perform up to par. It is this dedication to their customer base that made this company have a fanbase... Yes, a fanbase with a website and a wiki. Lineage: Chem Sis x Chocolate Diesel x Sour Dubb Popularity: Extremely Popular Flavor/Aroma Profile: Chocolate, Earthy, Fuel Yield: 400 g/m2 Stress Tolerance: High resistance to disease Potency: 24% THC Flowering time: 58 - 63 days The Soil: Those who saw my Monstercropped Gelato #33 grow (you should see it if you didn't, I'm so proud of that grow), know about my super soil and organic nutrients/ permaculture tea combo that starred in my previous diary. Because of the great results, we are going to use the same recipe, adjusted some more with some new ingredients that will complete the mix and give an even more sustained super soil buffer. 20% Atami Bi-grow (very similar to ocean forest) 20% Atami worm castings 20% Atami Coco Coir 10% Hydrocorn 10% Peat powder 1 cup Fossil seaweed chalk 1 cup bonemeal 1 cup bloodmeal 1 cup Microlife 3-4 teaspoons of epsom salt 3 cups of activated biochar (activated with our own permaculture tea) I just made layers, starting with hydro corn on the bottom to aid airflow/run-off. On this I started layering the coco coir, Bi-grow, peat, castings, and amendments in a way that the more mature the plants get, the more phosphorous and less nitrogen they will find. Every time I made three layers, I would mix them by hand. This way we simulate natural soil, which consists of humic layers, composting plant waste, fungal and microbial life, and nutrients from fossilized sources. The Nutrients I will start with just adding 6.4 PH water, although this soil should buffer ph itself and regulate, after 4 weeks, I'll slowly be adding: - Biobizz Grow - Plagron Alga Grow - Biobizz CalMag - Biobizz Flower - Plagron Alga Flower - Biobizz Topmax - Melasses The Tea Some of you might remember the permaculture tea from my previous grow, I have a short video in my harvest page showing how we make it), it will star again in this grow. - (Rain)water - Comfrey (whole plants) - Dandelion leaves - Roots and leaves from the earlier grow - Minor periwinkle (Finca minor) is a plant we have in our garden, it contains an alkaloid that is associated with increased brain function but also is a light toxin for wee beasties and other unwanted guests like gnats (who hate it). - When flowering I add some wood ash to this mix Thank you for checking in on one of my grows again! Growth was damn fast and high. She's up to 115 cm. Day 5 in Flower

Overview of my grow: Tent: 4 x 4 120 cm by 120 cm Lights: 2 x 120 Watt CTlite c4 clusterled Climat: Dehumidifyer 240 watt Prima Klima carbon filter Secret Jardin 20 W osc fan Pots: 4 x 11 liter airpots Water : automated water system Nutrients: Plagron cocos A + B Plagron PK 13/14 ATA cal/mag Epsom salt Week 2, it is not going as expected, she is still a little bit small i think, i mean she is growing but especially compared to the other plants she is not doing so good i think. At the end of the week i see her leaves a bit cupping upwards, at first i thought it was because of the spraying of mist what i do over the day, but i stopped it and it is not getting better only worse. Maybe it is heatstress but my other plants are fine. So i was thinking maybe it is heat along with the wind, so i replaced my fan to the other corner see what happens now. She is still on a low feeding schedule, and at day 10 i installed my auto water system. Maybe it is because there is to much water sprayed at the plant at that moment of giving water in the morning so that is causing my problems. i dont now, in the video it looks oke. I get up and inspect it tomorrow. We will see what happens in week 3

What a fun experience! This was my first time trying a mixed grow style of synthetics and organic. I think I may have found my new go-to strategy. This definitely wasn't a perfect run by any means - as a matter of fact, I botched the feedings earlier in her life. However this grow definitely taught me a lot more about how to treat this strain properly. Now I'm running her clones in the 3x3x6. So the legacy will continue! Let's see how this strain does during the summer months! Cheers everyone! This has been an awesome grow. What I'm lacking in yield, I yet again make up for in quality. And I don't think yield will be an issue with the clones, they're week 6 veg - and quite massive! - RWI out!! 😁 😶‍🌫️🤑

------GENERAL COMMENT------ Girls are moving forward without troubles, i'm pleased not having to deal with issues. I'm breaking down the feeding schedule like: Sensi Base + Bigbud*(or pk booster) + Recharge > VeloKelp+Natures Candy+Bigbud*. So there is constant feed, every other day mixed in 1.5l water. Once a week i give Cal Mag 2ml /l. Not touching the girls with any HST or stress since I switched to flower. Is the first time i'm running recharge from the beginning to the end, have to say that is solid. ------SM.BB COMMENT------ Slightly turn off because there aren't loads of colas as I got used to. Lets see maybe this 10 colas will surprise me lol 😎👍

Day #24 I gave her some water although she wasn’t asking for it and did not absolutely need it . I will try and wait until she’s positively thirsty before I water her again. My tent humidity has been dropping as the pots dry out but when I check the moisture levels it shows “normal” also as my pots dry out the ph of the “medium” has risen to 6.8-7.1 . Deeeeeeeep at the bottom of the pot it is 5.5. I’m curious about the fluctuations of “soil medium” . Thought to check the accuracy of my ph pen today before watering & discovered it is out of calibration 2 weeks after initially setting it up . I think I’ll look for another PH pen that I can rely on however I’m glad I had the foresight to acquire ph solutions to be able check the accuracy of the calibration of my pen. I don’t want to feel the need to recalibrate before each use nor the desire to check the accuracy each time which is why I sprung for a more expensive pen this time rather than a “ super value “ ph . Back to the drawing board to find a better product . I am still happy with the performance , accuracy & reporting of my smart hygrometer. I am very glad I sent back the original one and replaced it with a competitor brand . I’m wondering should I be getting ready to give her a top dressed feeding in one week . Orrrrr will I wait until she starts showing hunger signs . I premixed more than the recommended amount of plant food when I transplanted her from her starter pot day #9. I’ll think on it a little more. Day 26 Update: She has EXCELLENT structure without any LST, Topping, or SuperCropping. Ponytailing has definitely brought out great growth. I’m a little sad. I believe that I’ve misused the total flower time of the 3 autos finishing in this tent. They have all been in flower since week 2 & 3 of their life . They are currently in weeks 7 & 8 of their life. I was thinking an 8 week flower but these look as if they can go 12-15 weeks. Sooo put simply, these autos may remain in my 5x5 the entirety of my 3 month vegging of “Cellie” Cereal Milk by RQS. The best shots will come once the tent gets harvested & she gets scrogged down . I’ve plucked 2 fan leaves finally although I really don’t want to defoliate any yet . Her lateral growth shoots are healthy and tenacious. I’m super happy with the number of arms & equality of height in the arms . I may eventually be interested in topping this naturally bushy plant . I really want a dramatic filling of this tent so I’m encouraging an over abundance of multiple branches. Branches that I will eventually tie down . Day#28 Update: she finished the week well & is becoming voluptuous . Given her majority indication indica leaning pheno is taking up this Gaia Green like a champ & I was questioning just how tall I think she’ll grow before growing/being trained to grow as wide as the tent . She may be a squat but wide bush 😂 . It’s too soon to tell, the lights are still between 40%-50% & watering is only sparingly as needed the last watering age received was day # 24. Give us a like. Week 5 has began !

03/22 - (M) - She is perfectly - Her numbers are spot on and the feeding schedule seems to be dialed in perfectly - I will increase her carbohydrate feeds with the Raw Cane Molasse to increase terpene production. 03/22 - (C) - Hit a little snag with the babies last week and through off their PH/EC/PPM's - Gave them a hard flush yesterday (Only distilled water) to stabilize the numbers and got all of them down to optimal levels. Did some defoliation on the yellowing leaves. I will upload both night and day shots for this week for the babies 03/23 -(C) - Flushed them out hard last night and in less then 24hrs WHABAMMMM!!! they are already bouncing back - Will stick to just clean water feeds for now - They will begin a low-dosage nutrient feed (Micro-dosing) in about a week.😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 03/24 - (C) Flush out complete - They have all bounced back and back to running accordingly - Running AC infinity supp lights and level 2 for under top canopy coverage. 03/27 - (C) - All 8 have bounced back after heavy flush accordingly - Added supp light for side coverage and the ladies seem to be loving it - Might drop the lights a little to avoid over stretching.

1 Mother plant and 3 clones from the original mother they all grew well after some topping and training. Acapulco Gold was a pleasure to grow, it developed well throughout all the stages of growth a lot of trics appeared with solid dense buds that gave me a satifactory yield. The approximate dry weight was about 228 grams about 8oz from the mother, but i did take some preharvest so this is a ball park figure that is probably way off, i was a bit late in getting the full weight and some i harvested later so i lost track, apologies if your looking for an accurate final weight report.

She was a stretcher and it hurt her production taking it as my fault till I see what the clones do Two years ago we began with an LSD harvest and now we end with one, rather fitting. Clones combined wet weight 720 grams in dry over next couple of days 173 grams dry from clones

All 5 seed came out of one plant. The smallest two came up like a day or two after the big ones and they only start growing when I topped them..#1 height 6.5" longest lower branch 2.5".....#2 height 8" longest lower branch 3"....#3 height 11.5" longest lower branch 3.5" topped two of them

Happy with the result when i started with a seed. Mother : 100gr dried Clone 1: 70gr dried Clone 2 + 3: 90gr dried

02 October 2018 - Day 99 3rd day of flush and we see her begin to grow nicely. Day 100 - Happy lady as she gets densier and begins to really smell. Day 101 - She is maturing lovely. Day 102 - Orange pistols curl. She is on her way. Day 103 - Mature and ready. has thickened up significantly. Day 104 - Water topped up and pH balanced 5.4 Day 105 - Trimmed after the video.

Flower season is upon us... The LST has continued and she's bouncing back with every bend and twist. Very promising look to the plants growth. She seems happy with the amended soil and the addition of CalMag+, so we seem to be good to go on this one.
