Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. nutrient change 7/18 had to remove scrog net was too difficult trying to move around their to change it out. Another week of explosive growth almost 2 feet tall already and starting to fill up the whole area already. Switched the light to bloom almost out room to move my light up.

I had yellow tips starting beginning week 6, I reduced my feeding to 3/2/0 (Grow/Bloom/TopMax) for one watering, then went 4/3/1 as written on the report.

It has been raining and raining since whatever... 2 weeks....checked the trichomes nice milky white. Based on the fact the the weather won't be better and also the temperature is lower day by the now usually 6 Celsius degrees in the evening and 13-16 during the day or less, I decided to harvest next week. I was thinking to let her out 3 more weeks just to have more amber trichomes but she is OK, ready but this weather is not ... She is sativa dominant as I saw in the breeder's description so totally cool. So she ain't gonna be maturing that much she reached the point.... especially because no sun.... ... but compare to that she has som nice colas so I am excited let's see soo guys. Week 6 flower : I stopped the pk half way through week 6 so it had a total of 10 days feed with pk13/14 I also cut out the silicone and calmag on the same day . I defoliated a little as there was a lot bud sites covered . I am going to start the flush in 3 days which will be . .6 1/2 weeks into flower , going to give them 2 weeks flush with plain water . Still have a bit of leaf curl from the light being so close I did move it but because the canopy is not so even it’s hard to get it right .

I didn't top it yet, new leaf looks great ;) Switching to flowering mode coming week...

Week 10 now and nearly ready to finish up, think I am going to stop giving nutrients this weekend, the girls are absolutely stinking.. getting nice and sticky,, they are quite dense too which I wasnt expecting.. one plant has pretty much just fox tailed the whole time, but happen to go the tallest and probably the frostiest.. all in all though happy with the turn out so I'm looking forward to getting them chopped ect and trying it out :)

Aug 10: now done two weeks of force flowering in the garage. This was supposed to be an auto, but like a lot of other growers here, I found this didn’t autoflower. That’s okay and I forced flowering by putting her in the dark garage along with the other photoperiod plants. Hopefully these are just mis-packaged Overdose Fast seeds. Aug 13: overdose is making good progress with flower development finally kicking in after a couple weeks of forcing. Aug 14: added 3 tablespoons of a 50:50 mix of Power Bloom and malted barley as a top dressing and watered in.

Only 2 Pistles are showing very early flower. Plant doesn't seem to be getting any taller this is a genetic issue I think. Going to a different breeder next run. I think they are white label genetics.

15th day into flowering- Trim some Fan leaves /anything cover canopy. 18TH DAY FLOWER- LOLI POPPING. JUST WATER EVERY 3 DAYS PH 6.5

Performed a heavy defoliation. Plants in good health. Used garden wire to get branches into desired positions. For watering and soil mixture check week 6. Started adding BioBizz Bio Bloom according to schedule at the start of Flower.

Bit of nute burn appeared on just one of these phenos overnight. I think this is as this plant flowers longer than my nute charts so did a bit of experimenting. Wil dial it back a bit at this stage next grow to avoid this and have dialled back a bit now, moving forwards. It's not too bad and still seems localised to certain parts of just one plant so not gonna stress about it.

Day 78. Humidity keeps very high, all fans on max, extraction exhaust is on 70%. Day 83. Found maybe WPM on one plant, so now all air movement on max of all maxes ;)))) Happy Growing !!!
