______________ An interim update: ______________ The pre-bloom has started. The plant is preparing for its last growth spurt. The growth in the last days is therefore substantial. For the time being no real problems. Apart from the additives that I provide, no additional nutrients have been added. A little too much N, because of this there is a little bit of burned leaftips. But hopefully a bit of a push can not hurt too much;) a new update at the end of the week. _________________ End of week 4 update: _________________ The bloom has begun. The growth was very exuberant this week. 25 centimeters larger than at the beginning of the week. There are a lot of shoots with budsites. Have given some flowering nutrients for the first time, albeit a low dose. The problem with the burned leaf tips has also been solved. A little too much of N did not hurt the plant. The grow mix of plagron is perhaps a bit too 'powerful' for young plants. But no real negative consequences, so no problem. I gave the plant also a nice 'shower' today with iron spray. She seems to like it. On to the real first week of flowering

This week one of the plants has really began looking tropical and the smell is danker by the day. It wreaks of fruity gas in my tent. Everything is basically on cruise control from here. Two of the plants look ready for a flush while the others are a week or two behind. One of the phenos is a good bit behind and was since day one but looks like it will yield a good bit. 🍻🍻 Mid week: I spotted few amber trichomes and started flushing on two of the 5 girls. One is way behind and two are maybe a week behind. 👌💨 Ready for these beauties to finish😍

The girls survived. Always the biggest stress in the beginning. Getting sprayed with water twice a day. Gonna do the first watering soon. Hoping for growth!

Hello. This is the end of week 10 and the beginning of week 11 of veg. Got the girls out to the greenhouse this weekend. And the guys too. Repotted the 6 females into the big pots. And training has started already with the metal rods to hold down the long branches. For each pot I mixed 4 gallons of soilless soil and 2 gallons of compost and 1 gallon of perlite/vermiculite. That filled each pot about 3/4 full. After transplanting I filled up the top 1/4 with the soilless soil. All the pots got about the same amount of soil within 1 Liter +/- The plants did well being bent into place. I broke 1/2 of plant #6's mainline. Wrapped twine around the brake and bent the branch over the bar and held it in place with a metal rod. That will work for me. You can see in the picture. I'll give a bit more water later today but with the compost the plants will have enough food for a while, so I won't have to feed for a while. I'm still planning to start flowering around June 1st to Aug 15 or so, to take advantage of the strong summer sun. These plants should take off once they get a taste of the compost. Ok. Be Great. Once the drying process is done I'll be coming back to update the smoke report. Her terps are off the charts and she looks very resinous to the naked eye. UPDATE 02/02/24 The dry and curing process left with some of the most amazing nugs I ever seen and the most is like none other. A pungent smell of lime, diesel, piney and sweet. Pulled 13G worth of kief which wow I'm impressed by all means.

In the second week the plant has now started to produce its first set of single bladed leafs.

Once again, this week starts where the former one ended. With the exception of all the cables you can see in the first picture. I dared to install a minimalized version of the Raspi control only controlling the self-built humidifier and one blower/fan combination. I was very pleased to see how easily the simple diffusor can hold optimum VPD as long as temperatures are high and humidity tends to fall below optimum VPD. A single 10 seconds evaporation can hold the level for about 2–3 minutes. I am not pleased to see the Monsanto blowers rather underperform. It’s impossible to reduce humidity or temperature with both running on full speed, while a lifting of the tent door will bring immediate changes. With the Raspi/Arduino success so far*, I am thinking about using old Power Mac fans which are WCM controllable and use 12 V. At least one to increase air intake, and maybe even the blowers. * It wasn’t any problem at all to have the Arduino collect CO2 and soil moisture data, so after some more cable manufacturing (aka helpless soldering), I could extend the Raspi control. I’m still uncertain about the camera module (@trelorny impressed me with his time lapse videos). I don’t want to put the hardware into the tent with its not so electronics friendly climate, already risking some rare outages of the temp/hum sensor. But the camera module cannot be placed far away. So maybe I’ll use the 3A model I own as a spare part as a camera driver. Any maybe, if it works, invest in a better camera module. Mine is generation 1. Oh, and the ladies! Gave them slightly fertilised water yesterday, and even it or the better VPD yesterday or a combination of both make me believe bud growth is a bit more visible today. The smell in the morning when I open the tent to release accumulated humidity is outstanding. They were already thirsty on day 57 again, so pure RO + a bit of tap water until it spilled out of their pot’s bottoms. Many fan leaves turning autumnally now, and the smallest Sherbet suffered a bit from over-fertilisation as I wrote. But it this stage I don’t go for leaf beauty anymore. Just another learning: Don’t use differently sized pots anymore. Hard to feed them individually this way. VPD was mostly in best range yesterday, and I have the feeling it really supports their bud growth. I added an "Evening time" option to my Raspi control that allows the humidity to sink a selected time before lights shut down. That made it possible to have humidity in best range for most of the night time too. They were even dry again on day 58 morning. Another time just water. The blowers cannot cope with the flowers’ smell anymore, and so sometimes my flat cannot hide who shares it with me. Day 60 presents me with a problem: I’ll leave on Friday for a few days. Considering the microscope pictures are not from the tops buds: Would you say it’s safe to give them another week? Problem solved on day 61. Only clean water from now on, and next week will be their last. You won’t see any new pictures for some days now. Me too … Something I wanted to share with you before I leave: I just finished to update my grow box control with a new PWM fan hat that keeps the Raspi cool, while at the same an infrared sensor can now measure real leaf and additional ambient temperature. Setup is much cleaner and more robust now, but I wish my flux would not make the solder stick to the tip of the machine instead of making it flow and stick at the tiny tiny spots I have to hit …

Last week, instead of 2 g of GHSC Powder Feeding, I only gave 1.5 g p l of substrate so that I can give you another 1 g per l of substrate next week so that it lasts until the end :-). It is developing very well and the buds are starting to grow :-). The week was poured 3 times with 1.1 l each time. once of them GHSC Enhancer was added :-). Eccoci ragazzi! Non vedevo l ora di mandare in fioritura questo mio esperimento idroponico! Le piante sembrano stare bene, ho avuto problemi con un po di radici che stavano marcendo, ma sembra che la situazione si stia risolvendo grazie al acido ipocloroso, sta disinfettando e sbiancando per bene le radici, e quelle nuove che si formano hanno un bel colore bianco sintomo di benessere! Ho provveduto a defogliare un po entrambe le piante per fare spazio a tutti i getti laterali che si stanno diramando dal tronco principale, spero proprio che ci siano un bel po' di cime, questa è la prima settimana e ancora nn ho visto nessun fiore o pre fiore, speriamo che si facciano vedere al più presto, non sto nella pelle per vedere come si svilupperanno i fiori di queste genetiche che sembrano promettere davvero bene! Purtroppo io nn sono molto esperto ancora su come defogliare e potare nel modo giusto, sto facendo del mio meglio e sto imparando piano piano per capire quale sia il modo migliore di farlo senza stressare troppo la pianta, a mio parere probabilmente ho dato troppa vegetativa e queste due piante se tutto va come dovrebbe diventeranno enormi e sono preoccupato che durante queste due settimane di pre fioritura che lo stretching verso l alto diventi un problema serio e che vadano troppo vicino alla luce, ho paura di bruciare tutte le cime principali, spero proprio che questo nn avvenga xke purtroppo già ora sono alte 60 cm e posso arrivare al massimo ad un metro di altezza altrimenti la lampada sarà troppo vicina, xke purtroppo nel posto dove si trovano, dispongo solamente di un altezza totale del box di 180 cm e la lampada può arrivare al massimo ad un altezza di 160 cm prima che tocchi il filtro a carboni sopra di essa.. Spero con tutto me stesso di non commettere il solito errore.. Per ora apparte qualche squilibrio del ph, mi ha provocato una carenza di rame e di calcio /magnesio, ora ho provveduto a tarare il mio misuratore di ph /ec, xke ho notato che usandolo spesso è non pulendo adeguatamente il sensore con acqua distillata, è necessario ricalibrarlo circa ogni 2/3 settimane, altrimenti tende a sballare di 4 o anche 5 punti il ph della soluzione.. Ora il prossimo cambio Dell acqua sarà verso il 20 dicembre contando che l. Ho cambiata il 5 dicembre ogni 15 giorni la cambierò, grazie alla nuova pompa di sentina che ho comprato è un gioco da ragazzi svuotare i secchi in pochi minuti! 6/18/22 Today starts week 4, and the first day of flowering!! The day has finally arrived, and my large (flowering) tent is packed! With these 4 additions, there are now 6 plants all together. I defoliated the living daylights out of all four of my ladies today. I also cut off all the lower, small growths as well as the large bottom 2 branches to provide clearance near their bases. At this point I’m more interested in the ease of growing instead of volume at harvest. Their mother is big enough to give me a pretty good yield. The 4 of them will still be large enough. I measured each one as well today, and their sizes are as follows: #1 & #4 are both 21 inches tall. #2 is 22 inches tall, and #3 is 20 inches tall. They are all approximately 28 inches below the light at 100% power. I fed each plant half a gallon of water today mixed with the early bloom step 1 level nutrients. I mixed 2 separate gallons containing the following: CALiMAGic - 2 ml FloraMicro - 5.7 ml FloraGro - 6.6 ml FloraBloom - 6.6 ml Floralicious Plus - 1 ml The pH was 6.2 in each of the two gallons and was not adjusted. Runoff was sufficient for each plant, and the pH was as follows: #’s 1 & 4 were both 5.8. #2 was 6.2, and #3 was 5.7. The tent temperature was 81F, and humidity was 66%. Today has been a long day, and I’m tired! Happy growing everyone! 6/20/22 Stella’s Cuatro are all doing well. They all seem to have recuperated from their massive defoliation on the 18th. Right now they all seem to be naked since they haven’t started to develop any bud nodes yet, but I’m sure they’ll be beautiful eventually. Today I mixed 2 more gallons of solution to feed each plant half a gallon of water with the early bloom nutrients. The nutrients are the same as the other day, so I’m not going to repeat them here. Both gallons had an initial pH of 6.3, and we’re not adjusted. Each plant had plenty of runoff as well. The runoff pH was as follows: #1, 3, & 4 were all 5.8. #2 was 6.1. The tent was 84.2F, and the humidity was 52%. Not much else to say, except, happy growing everyone! 6/23/22 The stretch is on in full force with Stella’s Cuatro! Just since 6/18/22, only 5 days, #1 green 5.5 inches, and is now 26.5 inches tall. #2 grew 8 inches, and is now 30 inches tall. #3 grew 4 inches, and #4 grew 3 inches, and now they are both 24 inches tall. I’m hoping that the stretch stops soon and that they don’t choke off the space I have left in the tent. I mixed 2 more gallons of water with the early bloom nutrients. Each plant received 1/2 gallon, or 8 cups of the following: CALiMAGic - 2 ml FloraMicro - 5.7 ml FloraGro - 6.6 ml FloraBloom - 6.6 ml Floralicious Plus - 2 ml Liquid KoolBloom - 1 ml The pH for both gallons was an equal 6.4. Each plant had sufficient runoff with pH’s as follows: #1 & #4 were 5.9. #2 was 6.2, and #3 was 5.8. The tent temperature was 85.1F, with humidity at 51%. Stella’s first 4 daughters are doing well, but I’ll be glad when they stop growing, and start producing some pistils, and bud. Happy growing everyone!
