Bonjour à tous les padawans et maîtres jedis stretch 15 centimètres (Stretch explanations more) EXPOSURE TO LIGHT One of the main culprits in abnormal stretching of cannabis plants is the lack of light. Plants that are too far from an adequate light source will respond by accelerating stem growth in order to get closer to the lamp themselves. Especially when there are many other plants. A lack of lighting can easily cause overcrowding in a growing chamber, reducing the steady progression of your crop and the distance ratio between your bulbs and your plants. To address this problem, be sure to provide enough light to your plants to prevent stem growth. At the same time, you should not position your lights too close to your plants either since this would also result in an over-stretching of the stems and in some cases, the loss of your crop. In addition to the distance between the light source and the plant, the type of light you will use also affects the size of the stretching of your crop. The orange and red lights encourage stretching and result in thinner, larger stems. And conversely, blue light stimulates a growth of thicker stems and a smaller size. When a species is ready to enter the vegetative phase and undergo its most drastic stretching period, metal halide lamps can be used to deter far too long stems. THE HEAT Heat is another essential element that can determine the stretch size of your plants during vegetation. Temperatures above 27 degrees push the stems to lengthen more and more and will propel the potential of sativas to push as high as possible. Heat lamps that are positioned too close to plants create an intolerable environment that will grow large, soft plants that will potentially wobble until they fall and lose flowers in its fall. OTHER CAUSES OF STRETCHING There are multiple variables that can lead to the stretching of plants beyond what could normally be expected of the plant. Environmental stressors resulting from transplantation (when a plant passes from one pot to another) can cause the plant to return to shock. This will eventually trigger a reaction causing a stretch. Cannabis plants that are not grown in decent conditions or do not receive enough nutrients will respond in a variety of ways and this includes stretching. Crops that are not spaced far enough apart are likely to stretch to sting the light to other plants. Due to extreme proximity, the plants will fight among themselves to reach the light, forcing them to expand as much as possible throughout the crop. HOW TO CONTROL STRETCHING DURING FLOWERING Stretching during flowering, you guessed it, takes place when you move your plants from the vegetation stage to the flowering stage. This is a completely normal reaction, as your plants are preparing to bear the weight of their heads. Stretching of a plant at the beginning of flowering varies widely; some plants can double in height while others grow only a few centimetres. There are, however, two main variables that can give you at least an idea of how your plants are stretching during flowering, and how much. Here are these two variables: Variety: Genetics has the greatest impact on the size of your plant. In general, sativa varieties stretch more than indicas and tend to develop long, slender stems. Light: Some lights, such as HPS, are more likely to encourage stretching. In addition, great distances between your canopy and your lights will cause the plants to stretch as they try to get closer to the light source. Stretching during flowering usually lasts the first two weeks of the phase. To minimize stretching, keep your lights between 10 (for CFL) and 30 centimetres (for HID) of your canopy. Finally, choose indica varieties if you have a smaller growing space. HOW TO AVOID STRETCHING In many cases, you can expect your cannabis plants to stretch during the flowering phase. Keeping that in mind helps to make a plan in case your species ends up growing much more than you could have imagined. If the information is available, get information on the standard size of your species and compare it to the size of your growing space taking into account the necessary distances between the bulbs and the plants. TRAFFIC While outdoor crop operations benefit from natural air to naturally limit stretching, indoor crops must assume the maintenance of air circulation within a confined space. Basic ventilation is enough to help the cannabis stems strengthen and become thicker rather than too high. In this way, the plants continue to grow vigorously without reaching heights and at the same time, your tolerance ceiling. MANUAL INTERVENTION For growers who want to get their hands dirty, there are physical procedures that can be done to reduce stretching. Similar to the natural effect that the wind has on cannabis plants, manually bending the leaves and stems will cause tiny cracks in the plant's tissues that will cause the plant to focus on regenerating its wounds instead of its vertical growth. THE TOPPING Topping is a form of manual intervention on cannabis to influence its performance, shape or size. In essence, topping is a process in which a new node is cut, growing from the plant to reduce its size and create a "v"-shaped notch that will eventually form two heads. Topping may be an effective measure to combat stretching, but it is important not to do so when the flowering phase begins. In most cases, an abnormal stretch of cannabis plants will not completely destroy your crop. In fact, stretching can indeed help increase your performance. For growers with a growing operation large enough to contain tall plants, stretching can increase the total yield of a species with more vertical space for head formation. In both cases, stretching can easily be planned in advance and there are multiple solutions to help you with this problem which is all too common. Welcome growfessors to the harvest of Mandarin dreams! These 5 ladies got chopped down this week, the three pheno 1 strains have nice dense buds, very sticky! One pheno 2 is very fluffy, airy buds and the other pheno 2, is someplace in between, not rock hard, but close to it. Last time I'll be growing this strain, she was easy to grow, but not a smoke I enjoy, the indica hits harder as the buds cure and I'm not that interested in couch lock. Will update in 7-10 days with dry weight.

All rite...here we go! Lol end of week 2 of flowering and plants are in full stretch mode now. I let them grow about a foot above the first netting and at the end of week 2 I did a huge defoliation and tied everything back down to the screen. Took a long time! Lol everything is even again though and all is well. We will let them grow up from here and tuck anything that gets above the screen to much. Gonna try and end with a canopy just above the first screen to maximize light penetration to all nodes. So far so good! Cheer 💨

All cut and hanging. I don't weigh wet buds will have pics and weights soon as its all dried pre and post final trim. If I woulda left it a little longer I coulda brought out much more color but even so there are purples and reds and 10 different color greens. Headband might have taken the award for density away from the enemy's dream. The headband and critical purp both had some purple. Can't wait to smoke em all. Happy to get the first filled to capacity run in my room fully set up and anxious to start the next.

She have good size to fill full tent💪 and hope so she will grow alone in that one. I'm waiting for new tent and Mimosa will move to new. Lot of nutrients to mixing in next run definitely less

Week 6 Summary: First off, Happy New Year! May the new year filled with peace, love, joy and dank buds! 😄😉 Day 36-39: Despite my heavy defoliation they seem to bounce back quite quickly every time, but this is my first grow so I could be completely wrong and slowly murdering my plants... 😅 WC1 starting to frost up, the two double buds are starting to split themselves up while stretching: WIN! WC2 and WC3 really starting to show their size compared to just a week or 2 ago, really spread out now, and starting to stretch. Day 40-42: WC2 and WC3 really stretching now. WC2 almost catching up to WC1's height, and has probably spread out the most out of all plants when you compare it to a few weeks ago. Maybe defoliating is a good thing for Autos after all? I'm stoked about these. Although WC2 and WC3 are a few days behind of frost production it's definately starting to show itself by the end of week 6. Stoked for these!! These are stinking aswell, but for now the 4AM in the tent is sweetening it up! On to week7!!!

Finally we cut this plant 13 weeks plant, it isn't a 8 weeks plant this is my main complaint about it, the bank should change the information because most of the people select this strains because are "faster".

Day 36 week 5 22.01.2020 Plant is doing great but atm the grow rate is slowing down a bit or maybe it’s just me !!! I did cut her down quite a bit and that’s maybe why , other then that strong thick branches and a low profile like I wanted !! She’s ready to go into the bloom box as soon as I free up some space there what should be in a few days to a week !! She’s getting 2 best spot under lamp but still a prime spot I would say So from now it’s getting interesting so stay tuned

Hello jetz 47. dec. 27. (7/3 - woche/Tag).

Total days above ground: 63 Total flower nights: 24 Just beyond 3 weeks into flower and the plants are showing their potential. The Mountaintop Mint has made great strides but is still a lanky bitch. I had to HST every branch, and may need to bend a couple more down before vegetative growth abates. Not a fan of this growth pattern and still unhappy about 2 out of 9 seeds providing a viable outcome. The bright side is that yield should be fine given the plethora of bud sites. Despite being difficult to grow next to other plants, I feel much better about its prospective outcome than I did just 1 week ago. That whole "crazy shit can happen in flower" thing rings true, again. Overall the canopy has filled in nicely. I have a couple spots where light is wasted and I'll make some adjustments to the process to fix that for future grows. Now that I've settled on plant size and number of plants, improvements can be made each cycle until it's clockwork. I like the 12-cola vs 8 cola experiement. I've got a fairly long list of edits to make to various sections of my "bible," which means I liked the outcomes of most of my incremental adjustments. Continual, systematic improvement in action... One other incremental change on the docket but not yet realized will be dropping nutrient concnetration once vegetative growth ends. Exact timing will be based on what I see in the foliage. I see some minor tip curl and its a bit darker than I want. So, it may come sooner than later. This'll be something I tweak over the next few grow cycles until I'm happy with the late-flower health. I'll drop fertilizer concentration 10-15% on next refill and see how that plays out. It'll take a couple refills of reservoir to near 100% transition without draining it. If necessary, I'll drain and do a full refill for more pressing needs. A rez scrub before final stretch is coming, regardless. Side note: The impacts of VPD can be enormous. Last year (2025-2 diary) I had a humidifier wick get fouled and RH dropped while VPD spiked for more than a few days, thinking I could power through or that the canopy would soon provide more moisture. Nope, growth stalled in a significant way. By comparing day 34-42-49 of 2025-2 and day 38-42-49 of this diary, I can see a huge difference in growth at same point above ground. The consitency with which i do things makes it fairly certain it's the extende period with extremely high VPDs that caused the difference. Also, interesting that it mostly catches back up by completion of third week of flower. The size difference is nearly undone by this point, though 2025-2 took 4 days longer vege phase to get there. Even so, I still think this grow is more than 4 days ahead of 2025-2 (the difference in vegetative phae duration). Time will tell if the development is ahead of the pace in 2025-2 or whether it's simply mostly an offset due to a less efficient vege phase for 2025-2.

Pheeew... another intense training week is gone, and as I was thinking the past week the baby is a girl and started flowering already at around day 25, which I pretty early but considering all the stress of the 3 transplant and the massive LST it's acceptable. After reporting her in the final 20 Lt pot, no stress was encountered although and she start stretching pretty fast as plants do on preflowering. I introduced blooming nuts as soon as I saw pistols and everything now I'd going pretty smoothly. I'll give her the last 10 days of heavy LST and then I'll leave her doing her things. For now it's all, stay tuned, stay high!
