coming into 3rd week in the pots. Everything is working just fine, Had a few minor PH / PPM issues without the Res Change, that had 0 visual effects on the plants as far as I can see Added PH Down , And ppm is around 1180-1220. I May have added too much nutes on the first run. Will try to get a more accurate Mixture in a few days. TOPPING Topped the 2 Wifi Zombie , and left the 2 others for now untill they catch up. Removed bottom leaves and branches , to let the tops fill in. Video posted shows where topping was made and the progression of the plants!

Oh, Week 5 in the fabulous world of my green squad has been nothing short of a horticultural sitcom! I kicked off the festivities with a low-stress training (LST) session that would make any plant yoga instructor proud. Imagine me in my gardening yoga pants, coaching the lower branches like, "Stretch, my green warriors, stretch! We're aiming for a yoga retreat, not a sedentary plant spa!" I decided it was time for a botanical makeover – no more settling for an average, run-of-the-mill plant. Oh no, my friends, I was determined to turn my green buddy into the Beyoncé of the tent. The plant underwent a transformation that would put any Hollywood diva to shame, becoming a bushier superstar that covered more ground than a celebrity red carpet. I could almost hear the applause from the tiny plant leaves – a standing ovation for the botanical sensation. But why stop at just a physical transformation? In the spirit of keeping up appearances, I went full-on garden Marie Kondo. It was time to declutter! Any discolored leaves that didn't meet the high standards of my garden's fashion police got the boot. Who needs an unsightly leaf cramping the style of the green kingdom, right? It's all about maintaining that A-list garden aesthetic – the Vogue of the plant world. In the grand comedy of plant life, Week 5 has been a laugh-out-loud episode filled with beauty, drama, and a touch of horticultural glam. As I stand there, admiring my now Beyoncé-level plant, I can't help but feel like the director of a blockbuster comedy – green leaves fluttering in the wind, tiny plant divas striking poses, and the whole garden stage set for a laugh riot. Stay tuned for the next episode of "Greening Up with THCpapaTHCPAPA" – because when it comes to plants, it's all about the glam and greenery! 🌿💃✨

Ultimately they are all healthy and doing great. Still have few weeks left of flowering but White Widow and Peyote getting frosty already. BlackSugar healthy but still little slower then the rest. Super happy with the White Widow, just lots of bud sites from the bottom to the top. I think maybe 3.5 weeks left close to end of the month. Super Happy

These ladies were slow to start, but once they hit their stride they put any worries we had to rest. Compact, short-framed, and robust. They pack beautifully boulder-like flowers that reek of garlic and sickly sweet cotton candy. Dark green to a mosaic of purples, yellows, and silvers. Week 3: The Big Move for Charlotte & Makayla The "Solo Cup Sisters" are officially leveling up! This week was all about transitioning the Northern Lights into their permanent homes. They’ve handled the shift like champs and are looking vibrant and healthy as they settle into the 10-gallon fabric bags. Growth & Vitals Charlotte: Currently standing at 100 mm (approx. 4 inches). She’s showing great vigor and tight node spacing. Makayla: Following close behind at 85 mm (approx. 3.3 inches). She might be the "little" sister for now, but her leaf structure is incredibly robust. Appearance: Both plants are sporting a deep, healthy green with no signs of transplant shock. The internodal development is exactly where I want it to be for future training. The Setup Medium: Using the "secret sauce" 50/50 organic garden soil and potting soil blend. Containers: 10-gallon fabric bags. These are perfect for providing the drainage and root aeration these girls need. Environment: They’ve been spending time on the deck to soak up the morning sun. I’m keeping a close eye on the High Plains weather—bringing them inside when the Colorado wind gets a bit too rowdy to ensure they don't get beat up. Strategy & Next Steps Training: I’ve got some LST (Low Stress Training) hooks ready to go. I’ll start gently guiding their growth once they establish their roots in the new medium. Trellis Prep: The plan is to let them grow into a trellis system set about 12 to 18 inches above the soil line. This should give us plenty of airflow and a manageable canopy. Nutrients: Sticking with the organic regimen. I’ll be introducing the FOOP line—Veg, Bloom, and Sweetener—on a weekly schedule once they’ve fully recovered from the transplant. **Note:** The focus for the next few days is purely on root establishment. I'm keeping the moisture levels consistent but being careful not to overwater while they adapt to the larger volume of soil. #GrowDiaries #NorthernLights #Cannabiscommunity #Homegrown #OrganicGardening #Week3 #TransplantDay**

Thank you to all that have helped me along this journey. All of the answers, tips, comments, likes, and other diaries have been so very motivating to me. I originally started this diary only for my own reference but I'm so pleased to have learned that others have found it helpful or interesting, for whatever reason. If you're curious about equipment see the germination page and if you have questions feel free to drop me a line. So, without further ado: Jan 19 Day 105 Harvest day! 🎉🎉 Not really knowing how to tackle the situation, I started by cutting all of the fan leaves I was able to reach. Then, I cut each branch working from the perimeter inward - which due to the way she grew, was essentially the same as working from the bottom branches of the meristem to the top. Each branch was cut, cleaned, and handled individually before moving on to the next. Decided to wet-trim most of the branches, leaving 4 fairly untouched (only fan leaves were removed). Will be interested to see the differences, if any. They're all drying/hanging near the grow tent ~45%RH, 72F (22C). It isn't completely dark though, as some light is escaping the tent into the closet where they are hanging. I'm hoping this isn't terrible but I'll be keeping my eye on them. The process took the better part of an evening but I was cautiously learning, taking breaks, and generally being fairly slow. I'm sure I'll be faster and more confident next time. Jan 27 Day 113 Drying is complete, I think. Branches were hung and dried for 8 days in a consistent 68F (20C) 40% RH. They were determined to be dried after hearing a snap when bending (not breaking) large stems and buds felt dry to touch. Sugar leaves bordering on crispy while buds still had some give / fluffiness. The flowers from previously manicured branches were relatively easily plucked. However, the dry trimming process for the unmanicured branches proved to be a bit of a pain. They have been placed in a pyrex container to cure. I'm hoping flavors and aromas that are currently lacking will develop in time. 🤞 --- Stats --- Veg time: ~45 days. Flowering time: ~60 days. Height ~18in., ~46cm. Main Bud Length: ~9in., 23cm. Harvested 16 Hangable branches and a few extra medium/small buds. Bud Wet Weight, with stems: 242g, ~8.5oz. Larf/Popcorn Sugar-leaf Wet Weight (not counted above): 18g, ~0.6oz. Leaf/Waste Wet Weight: 38g, ~1.3oz. Drying time: 8 days. Dried Weight with Stems: 70g, ~2oz. Trimmed and Dried Total Bud Weight: 50g, ~1.75oz. --- Thoughts in hindsight --- Firstly, I can't believe I haven't tried growing sooner. So rewarding in so many ways! My initial hope was to harvest an oz., so I am obviously quite happy we could surpass that mark by a good margin. This is a testament to the plant more than me of course, as I was completely inexperienced and was purposefully as hands-off as I could be comfortable with throughout her growth. I can only imagine things will improve with time. Paper-towel germination seems to be prone to more stress for myself and arguably the seedling as well. Floating in 1% H2O2 solution seems to be ideal for me. I made bad soil choices. This mixture seemed to be too dense, leading to some watering/strangulation issues mid-growth. My 2nd grow consisting of mostly coco coir seems healthier and seems easier to maintain proper hydration. Coco might also be reusable while this soil definitely seems spent now. I didn't respect pH at first and initial testing was eye-opening. That said, after simply testing water and fertilizer readings a few times, I gradually felt more comfortable with guestimating during most feedings, only testing sporadically later in her life cycle. This seemed to be fine and was a bit of a relief after early testing proved tedious every feed. I've been happy with Better-Gro orchid fertilizer. This is of course contrary to most advice, which I admit is probably for good reason. That said though, I didn't notice any major toxicities or deficiencies during her grow. So, these products seem to have worked for me and are so much more affordable than cannabis-specific fertilizers. I was quite weary about not having cal-mag, but this never seemed to be an issue in this particular case. However, I'll be keeping a similar eye on my 2nd grow in coco, which I understand may need it. Training and pruning is important. This plant was quite bushy and wild likely resulting in quite a bit of unnecessary larf/popcorn. Not to mention the additional time needed to trim when harvesting. Also regarding training, pipe cleaners can leave noticeable cuts in the stem they hold. Thickly coated flexible garden wire would likely be ideal. I need to get a loupe or magnifying attachment for the phone. Digital zoom with shaky hands is not great for checking trichomes and my 3x magnifying glass just doesn't cut it. I cannot speak toward potency or yield without more experience, but simply for the sake of a greener hue, I think I could've harvested her a week earlier. Because I left a few branches untended during dry, I was able to experience both the wet and dry trimming processes. Unless keeping leaves for extra humidity during drying, I seem to prefer wet trimming as the still supple leaves were easier to remove with less bud handling. I'll add more thoughts if/when they come. Thank you again for stopping by! 👋

Day 28- business as usual. May top dress end of this week, not sure. But smells and trichs are setting up and no signs of deficiencies. I probably could push them more but it’s all good for now. Day 30- ditched the trellis and did a heavier defol as the humidity would reach 73 with lights off. See if we can get some better airflow and fatter lowers. No top dress this week

I installed a PH controller but it didn't work right and only the ph up peristaltic pump is working. I will use this over my vacation as my PH drifts down naturally so this should work until i get a replacement. I watered in my gsc and other seedlings until runoff with 850 ppm heavy in nitrogen to green them up as the organic top dressing is taking too long.will see how they respond.on week 4 day 4 They are responding well to nitrogen Gsc is taking off!!!will continue nitrogen until end of this week as needed.
