Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Day 66/Day 22 of Flower: Finally made it to Week 4 of Flower which means I get to introduce BUD-XL to my nutrient line. Girls were hand fed tonight, saturated with fresh nutes. Tips were already showing signs of nutrient burn going into week 4, so without the former veg nutes, who knows how bad they're about to get. Question: I read defoliating throughout week 3 of flower is around the last time you should trim. I cleaned up the bottom real well, but do you think I trimmed too many fan leaves up top? A lot my bud sites have one fan leaves and the nodes under it have none at all? Throughout this grow, anytime, I've trimmed, it has had zero effect. I think that's because its receiving nutrients twice a day consistently. Regardless, should these leaves up top have stayed on to provide healthier sites or as an extra resource for food when needed? Thanks y'all! Day 69 Update (3/21): First time the grow has A burnt tips across the board. I read this is common during weeks 4-5 of flower, but I also know it can get out of hand real quick. I'll be measuring the runoff over next feeding and determine what the best course of action is. I believe for High Frequency Fertigation in Coco, you have to be careful how you dilute your substrate, and I also think you need to always include some type of Cal Mag in your water, even if just topping off reservoir. Going to be tricky as I enter into Week 5 where I'm supposed to add @House & Garden's Top Booster to my feeding line for a week. However, it's only one week, and after that, H&Gs line goes down considerably ( Pic in Gallery ) Question: Do I keep the nutrient line the same and increase fertigation, or do I dial down the nutrient strength? 3/24/21 Update: That does it for Week 4. Definite signs of nutrient burn with the tips and even some brown coloring leaves. I also don't think the buds are growing as fast as I see others by Week 4 and that's with four weeks of Big Bud and one week of Bud XL. I finally waved the white flag and topped off the reservoir with 2 gallons of fresh water and 2 ml of Cal Mag. Brought my intake down from 2.02 to 1.47 Brought my drainage down from 2.99 to 2.23. Debating on whether to give it one more diluted feed or make a fresh batch for week 5 where I'm supposed to add in Top Booster...Going to be a rough week trying to maintain any significant shock or stress to the plants with the nutrient changes/dilution. Loved growing this. Sang its praises rhe whole way through because it just looked like a beast. I like the pretty Cali strains but I always find the yields are close to frustrating for abilities not up up there. Overall the strain helped me take chances that paid off so I really enjoyed it. Will grow again. Threnneighbors should smell this on the balcony this summer 😂💚🙏🏼

This girls canopy is like a sheet of silver, there are so many tops. She may have been over trained as I had so sacrifice some tops to make room. Another lesson learned. She is starting to fatten up and has a lovely fruity aroma. She is in autopilot right now and I cannot wait for her to finish!

Had a bit of a cat-tastrophy this week. I left my tent open to go and fill a bucket of water, came back and zipped it up. What I didn't know is that the cat got in. Not 5 minutes later I can hear all sorts of shit moving around so I came in to find I had zipped him and and he went bonkers and bent almost every branch on the Skunk. So I had to do emergency tie jobs, but I ended up losing 2 medium colas and 1 small one. Could have been much worse if the skrog net wasn't there to stop them from snapping. Injuries look like bent plastic straws, so I'm going to be watching her closely to see if she herms from that massive amount of stress. Some of the pics have cat hair in them, thank the little brat. Anyway, Skunk is a 45-50 day finisher so I'm going another week and then she gets the chop. Lots of microscope videos today and finally found an amoeba. Also something moving in an egg...what is it? That's at 400x so I think it's a nematode egg based on what I found online. If you look closely at the super zoomed in trichome shot, you can see the reflections of other trichomes...just fucking epic.👏 All the food stops now, too much in the soil for her to start senescence. Nothing but water and FFJ now. New pistils are still coming in so who knows, maybe she'll keep going a few more weeks.

Day 43_________________________ - Decided to make the 12/12 shift due to my Caramelino growing enough to risk light burn if it doubles in size during flower. I have the light as high as I can safely put it in my tent with fans constantly on above the lights, and still only have 33” of space from the top leaves. - That being said, lots of LST will be used to fan out instead of up. - Flushed out the system completely this time. Before I would drain enough for the water pump to suck in air, but this time I filled with 50 gal of pH’ed water. Then I measured PPM. I stopped when the remainder of the water was 250PPM. Just a little richer than my tap water. Should have been doing this the entire time. Probably wouldn’t have had the nute burn spots that I was getting when I was 1400-1500 after half a week of the plant eating and drinking. Now is sitting just above 1000. I feel the plants will appreciate the break from over-nuting. Day 48______________________________ - plants are all loving the lower PPM numbers and pushing through the trellis net. - Plants are all drinking about 5 gallons every 3 or 4 days. Replenishing with pH’ed water when I notice a significant drop. - Two main shoots are becoming a pain to try to keep at the same level of all the others. LOTS of LST.

No disease & easy strain to grow so far (even for beginners) Got some little balls in the lower buds sadly but the tase, smell & high are so epic that i dont care 🤪 Some friends described the taste as something like pepper, others as something like lavender, but hey, we smokin on killer weed :o Lovely dense buds covered in trichs ty HSO

Made compost tea last week and documented it. Since I am still new to the whole bio experience, any input and or experiences are appreciated on the matter. The weather was 3 days of rain, 2 cloudy days and 2 days of sun. The plants are comming along nicely. I gave some guano to the autos and some horse manure to the Passion #1 and watered it in with horsetail extract. No. 7 seems to really like her spot and conditions and has the potential to become pretty big. Still many "ifs" to overcome until then though. I put up a net to better guide the plant and to help carry itself later in flowering. I did some light defoliation on the autos, on the insides of the plants. Happy growing everyone!

New flowering continues to develop on this lady, she seems to be swelling up day by day. Yellowing of the fan leaves has started which usually means it's time to flush, I need to check the trichomes to see how amber they appear before I do just in case the flavour or yield could be effected.

Day 23-30/04/22 all looking very healthy gave them a nice watering today about half a liter each! Bio grow and calmag!!! - Day 24-01/05/22 everyone of my babies are looking very well 👌. - Day 25-02/05/22 everything looking good no need to water today just let them do there thing!!!! - Day 27-04/05/22 gave them a nice watering today!!!! Clockwise from bottom left: GDP fem bulk sees, Bubba Diagonal (pre98 bubba x Triangle Kush) from grassroots, Juicy Gushers from Atrium cultivation, and Kush mints bottom right. Juicy Gushers is the loudest and sweetest in veg by far..like cardamom, read it is won award for 30% outdoor thc. Great sturdy stems. Bubba d is most bushy by stems snap easily. The gdp rub is great and nice serration leaves. Kush mints is pretty good indica structure. I got clones off all.

Hey guys . My cutting heating broke 3-4 weeks ago, which was fixed immediately and everything went wonderfully. Now, 3 days ago, the central heating broke down in the entire room, so that at night I only have temperatures of around 13 degrees :-( . One or the other lady is slowly starting to see a phosphorus blockage, as this can no longer be absorbed at temperatures below 15 degrees, like many other nutrients :-( . A friend looked at the heating yesterday and came to the conclusion that a real company had to do it, which is by no means possible for a stranger to enter my room. I quickly ordered heating mats for all the boxes so that the ladies could at least get warm feet. That's all I have this winter full can do . Let's hope everything will be fine 🙏🏻. As soon as the heating mats are attached in the coming days, I will post them in the pictures. Now for the update. Despite the severe cold, the ladies are still doing well and have made good progres . The ladies only had to be watered once this week, each time with 1 l, because it absorbs the water very slowly because of the cold and I don't want to overwater it. I took every single plant in the pot to take a close look at their roots. These are snow white and look very healthy 🙏🏻. It was also the last time neem oil sprayed so that the last trips are finally gone. Otherwise everything was checked and a lot of planning was done, like I do with the heating mats. Since a friend had the same problem in one winter and the heating mats got 10 degrees plus on the pots, I am very confident that it will at least bring something for the last cold month 😃 🙏🏻. Day 16: These ladies are now nearly.at the end of their stretch I think. They are all forming decent looking flowers now and have sent a few mains skyward to mark their territory Wedding cake is an impressive girl . She is full of mains to develop and also has a lot of secondaries below decks on each of her main 4-way branches. She has trained out fairly well and is holding her shape well. Flowers are looking as they should and plentiful too. Her stems are nice and strong for the upcoming beast she will become. Ghost O.g is still an odd looking girl but is fighting for some good mains to be in the running now. she hasnt stretched too much in general but her lowers have certainly entered the race. She is a very chunky classy too. GG#4 has begun to get over my drowning of her roots with too high water levels in the tank. She hasnt held back too much really as she is the tallest of her group. In typical Gorilla strain style she still has skinny limbs but a few good heads forming flowers too now. Overall , things are doing ok and my error has given them a hurdle to overcome .
