Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Brought to you by a pair of Mars Hydro SP3000s. Grow on Earth. Grow on Mars. 69 😉 days from seed soak. Veg is done. Sending off to Mars to flower cuz I installed 2 SP3000s in my 2x4 (60x120) tent. Introduced Nectar and have been feeding full strength now. Seems like I have to water every day...1 gallon each of full feed per plant, 18 hours later seems like they are thirsty again..leaves drooping down and perk up after water. I’ll start doing 1.5 gallons and up the nutes....maybe it’s the new lights. Photone says: ~90000 lux in middle, ~70000 on the edges/sides. I think I’m pushing it but it seems my plants are loving it. D37: gave the little gal a hair cut. Trimmed off the reveg leaves to let light in. There are so many nodes that could branch out, I wish I would have lst'd it from the beginning. Branches grew about an inch last week on top.

I was already disheartened that the plant did not reveal sex, so I didn't take many pictures, but decided to go to 12 by 12 to see...

Sept 10th, I visited the girls today, So much work...reinforcing, pruning, mould checks. In the greenhiuse things were quiet. No storm there just a crowded space with little airflow and too many buds and leaves to ripen properly. I removed all 2nd grade branching, especially form the lower branches and mains bus. where buds were growing jnto eachother. No more water from now on... nothing. Praying for a few sunny days. Ive set dates for harvest depending on mooncycle ...please ladies, hang on! Best to all of you this fall!!

The plan is simple... let her grow inside under a 19/5 light schedule until the nighttime temperatures stay above the mid 40's℉, at which point she'll be moved outside and transplanted into the soil which I have already setup and inoculated with beneficial microbes, and then let the fun begin!🤪💚 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 5/2- Here we go into the fifth week for the GG4 Sherbet Fast Flower from FastBuds. Our weather is finally beginning to warm up and you can start to see it in the GG4 Sherbet FF as she is beginning to 'wake up'. 5/4- I have yet to see any insects either on top of, or underneath her leaves to determine what's causing the perforations on her leaves. I went ahead and sprayed her down with Neem oil and I'll keep an eye out to try and determine what the culprit is. 5/6- Rain showers today handled the watering duties and all I did was to add some straw to a couple of bare spots on the mound. 5/8- I'm not seeing much in the way of any new damage to the leaves of the FastBuds GG4 Sherbet FF. I will continue with the Neem oil preventative, along with spreading some powdered cayenne pepper around the base of the plant to take care of any slugs that may think of trying a taste of sherbet! | 📅 Week 8 | Days 50 - 56 | 💡 750w 📏26' | | ☔ 33%-45% | | 🌡️️🌞 75 - 81 | | 🌡️️🌑 70 - 75 | 12/28: I did a reservoir swap on all the plants and adjusted their PHs to 5.8. Humidity was getting really low So I added some containers with water and a towel dipped in to act like a wick to increase the RH. The smell has started to get noticeable so Ill have to be adding the carbon filter sooner. 12/29: Humidity has responded well and has increased to near desired levels. All reservoirs were topped off and had their PH's adjusted to 6 because they have been dropping low lately. Moved the SCROG placements a bit and adjusted the fans as well. Refilled the ambient containers of water for RH levels. 12/30: Reservoirs were topped and although only one needed a noticeable amount. All reservoirs have dropped low again and have been adjusted to 6 to compensate once more. The humidity has reached desired levels and is being stable thankfully! 02/31: I removed a few containers of water because the RH has become fairly stable. The reservoirs were of course topped off, but today they were adjusted to a PH of 5.8 instead of 6 like the last few days. Adjusted the SCROG a small amount. The plants are showing severe Mag deficiency and I will be doubling their nutrient schedule ASAP I just fear the Nitrogen toxicity, but at this points its way better than a this Cal/Mag def. 01/01: Happy New Years!! I have set up the Carbon filter because the smell is getting very noticeable. I swapped out the back right non-focus plants reservoir with the doubled nutrients and added great white mycorrhizae as well. The Focus plant and the other had their reservoirs topped of with tap water then PHed to 5.8. 01/02: I adjusted the PHs of all the plants to 5.8 after topping them off with tap water. I also adjusted the SCROG a slight bit and removed some old foliage. The RH levels are still in the acceptable rage for my setup so I will just refill the open containers and not add/remove any of them. - 01/03: 2 of the plants including the focus plant had their reservoirs topped off. All of the plants had their reservoirs adjusted to 5.8PH. The RH dropped a slight bit, so I mixed some PHed tap water with CaliMagic to make foliar spray. Its not enough to compensate the lack of Mag in the Nutrient schedule. Tomorrow (Jan 4th) the plants will have their nutrients increased to resolve the issues. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time in the last week to do it sooner. _____________________________________________________ This marks the end of week 8! The nutrients will be increased tomorrow and I have a feeling the next few weeks are going to show the Focus Plants buds getting plump and dark much like its non-focus plant counterparts. The focus plant has undeniably shown its Purple phenotype at this point so that mystery has been resolved. The only questions now is how fast will these plants react to the increased nutrients and bounce? I have faith in these plants to put out a respectable harvest and i'm already looking forward to future runs with this strain now that I am more acquitted to it. Day 14: After a week from hell with the heat often staying around 34-37°c while lights on , these little ladies have coped fairly well. i am down now to 5 on this run but the very small Northern light could also give up at some point as it is so tiny. The others are just starting to get moving and actually growing now. light now at full power so lets see how this week goes.
