21.07.2025 Defoliation, Lollypopping, and LST/HST.

Well shit..... Here is a reminder for everyone out there, calibrate your pH monitoring equipment on its recommended schedule! Of all the things to forget about. Sigh. My pH has been out of whack, looks like it was far to low and I have been effectively starving the plants of phosphorus. At least is what the leaves are starting to show, a definite deficiency. It was hard to see on the right plant at first as the purple hit the spots rather well. They just started turning necrotic in places. It really jumped out on the left plant and was easier to spot. It was reading 6.1 but was more like 5.2 Lesson learned, stay on top of that pH. I think it is time to retire these old Milwaukee MC120's in favor of some newer models. I could just replace the probes and double down on the calibration but I've had these things for nearly ten years now. I think sitting in that moderately humid environment has taken its toll on the internals. They aren't exactly made well. Oh well, these won't end up looking perfectly pretty in the end I guess. Given that I already wasn't to happy with the pheno, I'm not expecting much from these plants now.

This girl is looking grey and she is gaining some good size considering she is only in a one gallon pot... i keep thinking she's flipping a flower, but she hasn't. So I don't know if we have a photo on our hands, because like I said she's only in one gallon of dirt, I figured she would be flipped by now... I'm going to give her another week.And if she is not in flower and showing sex i'm going to put her in my other ten and put her on a twelve and twelve cycle ... either way she has 9 finger leaves showing some good haze traits ... I am at a crossroads with this girl. She seems to have stopped growing but is still healthy and not quite ready for the chop. I am going to let her really dry out to see what happens next. She was a bit of an experiment but I don't feel I gained much knowledge or experience growing her (nor any significant yield). Perhaps the best lesson is not to grow single plant strains (this soon in my grow tenure) and not have a companion plant for comparison. Comments/advice welcome!

Today, May 31, harvest day. Very sticky and heavy purple-green buds.

Weekly update for these gorgeous girls. They've definitely started taking off and doubled in size over the past week. I started feeding nutes at 5ml/gal of Athena Calmag,Grow A & Grow B. Ppfd still at 350-400 at the canopy level and watered 250-500ml daily. All in all Happy Growing

Been out of town for a couple of weeks and have a buddy taking care of the ladies while I’m gone. Post nice photos this weekend. Stopped using speedy veg and did a quick flush to start bloom nutes

my first pak apparently got stressed and did not grow enough and apparently I go into flowering ... instead the second purple afghan kush grows very fast ... as if it were an automatic ... and its height is 101 cwntimeters. .. and both germinated the same day ... i am happy for the evolution of the second also to them will take out the maximum of height and fattening of its flowers ...

Well most of them are sick,, some have lost or never had many pistils. It starts to smell a bit now. I still don't know how to deal with collective flushing and harvesting early rippen flowers. Found out the roots were badly burnt,(no slime or foam): 3 of them lost the roots beneath the pot, Jah only knows the state the roots are in. Hoping they won't die before harvest...

Today marks almost 5 weeks since germination and I thought that the damaged plant had recovered enough to make the journey the rest of the way home. I’m looking at other people’s phenos of this strain they can have quite a bit of stretch and given that I have another project up and going it was time to turn them to flower. I’d like to see the 36”+ stretch that I’ve seen out of others that would make these quite the specimens
