Week 11/3 - 17/3

So here we are with the last chapter of this journey which had many ups and downs but overall was a great experience. I love growing, it slowly became my passion thanks for GD and the community. It makes so much better, and lot of fun, one can interact with others and can learn from each other. Thanks for everyone who was with me in this last 2 years, you made me a better grower.🌱🌞 So let’s talk about the progress. I grew Liberty for the second time because it was my first photoperiodic strain 2 years ago and totally impressed me with it’s high yield and the effects. I wasn’t disappointed this time either. She had great structure, responded well to topping and training, and was resilient to pests. The germination rate wasn’t as good as usual and finally got 3 different phenotypes from the 5 germinated seeds. I topped them once and performed low stress training to get a flat canopy. The strong structure and rate of growth was impressive in the first 10 weeks which was actually a vegetative phase. They didn’t have any nutrient issues and even though they were under stress for two weeks (was my fault) in mid flowering, they performed really good. So it is a stress tolerant variety in my opinion.👌🌱 The buds are large sized and fat with medium resin production and a different scent for each phenotype. They aren’t dense and sticky like some indicas, but that says nothing about their potency. Flowering time was longer than the breeders recommendation but it's worth all the patience. Four plants were harvested 10 weeks after switched to 12/12 and one after 11,5 week. The harvest took place in several phases and some were immediately trimmed, some were hung with leaves. Calyx to leaf ratio was high except one plant so was relatively easy to trim. Plants which were trimmed after drying was easier this time.💚✂️ Based on the name, you'd really think it's a strong sativa strain but actually, this plant is a balanced hybrid, and it shows in both the growth characteristics and the effect. I am satisfied how this grow turned out however I know that it could have been better without my mistakes. In those two mid flowering weeks when the VPN was off and they were in stress I lost both the yield and the quality of the bud structure. So the total weight is 475 grams. 41 grams ore smaller airy popcorns and the rest are nice nuggets. I weighed the plants separately because I stored them also like this for later testing and smoke report.

Growing well so far. This week I added some LST to encourage outward growth. Things started to get a little wonky towards the end of the week bit once she starts to stretch out i think she will look a little neater.

At least one plant or more is needing water daily as they are drinking so much.. still trying to pull the humidity down as it's in the high 60s. Other then that..the girls are looking phenomenal.. Hope to see you guys till the end..It's Going to be an Amazing Harvest

Yes! harvest time! Buds r very solid, smelling very sweet and have lovely colours of pink in it.. but dang! so sticky!! She was in a 5L pot but she grew hard, like the beast she is 😎👍 Sticky was on tour a lot She started out on my window sill with only 13H of daylight and NO sunshine! But the winter was long, and i just could not wait any longer! 👊 ..then she went in my little greenhouse in my garden//and when she got bigger, she got an upgrade to the big safehouse (also in garden) and now and then she could stay on my gardentable to catch few rays.. She has battled a lot of bad (storms!) and cold weather and with that came a lot of bugs and pests..(big safe house is open at the sides.. its more a cover to protect them from rain and wind) But she still kept on growing like she did not care.. Partway through last week I noticed that there was no runoff after feedings. I increased the time the fertigation pump runs to 2 mins twice a day. It seems like either the root system is drinking up more or the added aeration has changed how much runoff comes out. Plant 1 has fallen behind in growth. The inter-nodal spacing was so tight that the new growth was being strangled by the older fan leaves and other growth. I adjusted the LST to help and pruned a very small amount of leaves. It seems to be doing better, but is several inches shorter than Zkittlez 2 which has had some really explosive growth. I started the scrog today, bending many of Zkittlez 2’s branches down to fill out the tent. I bent a few branches on Zkittlez 1, but it’s still a little short. This week I upped the nutrients, almost doubling the Cocos A & B, Multizen and Cal Mag. I still tried to keep EC down though, only allowing it to rise by about 300mS/cm. This could actually be the first week of flower, but think I’ve started to spot some pistils, but I’m not sure. I can’t find the breeder’s info, but think it’s supposed to have a 4 week veg time and 10 week flowering period. Update: lots of pistils being thrown out especially from Zkittlez 2. It’s definitely the first week of flower. There has been a lot of growth since the start of the week. I continued to bend branches down and tuck them under the net, but now that buds are really starting to take shape I'm going to lay of any further stressing. I noticed that there was little runoff over the past couple days. Yesterday (Monday) I had to refill the reservoir and mix up new nutrients because there was only an inch of water left. These girls have gotten a lot thirstier over the past 2 weeks. I've upped the feeding times to 3 minutes twice a day.

09/18/2021 At battle with catapillar this week Hand picking them off, some bud rot caused by catapillar's . Light defoiliating dying, yellowing leaves. Hand picking is tedious but well worth the effort. Feeding neptunes harvest 2-3-1 this is last week of feeding. Drinking lots of water this week gave each plant 2.0 gallons of Neptunes Harvest 2-3-1 hope it works out couldn't find fox farms, or big buds but I'm sure they will be fine.....will feed again on Friday then plain water for 3-4 weeks till harvest. Feeding should get them through the next two weeks then watering plain water should flush anything not needed by plants. Girls are thirsty this week, just in time for feeding! Neptunes Harvest seems to do the trick. Pistils piling on like crazy so one more feeding on Friday Of 2-3-1 and Week 7-8 banana peel tea, she should start Fattening up,and fading nicely by week 8-9.🙏🏻 The NPK value for banana skins is 0.6-0.4-11.5. But this is the value for dried banana skins. (I will make tea from peels) not sure of N-P-K Is for peel tea? But it works well in my opinion. Day # 6 week 6 applied gypsum today gypsum should help a little with PH issues,7.0 a little to alkaline but she will grow, but she thrive at 6.2 PH

Am concerned that I won't have room. If something has to go, it's the soil. Have a case of Fungus Gnats that I'll treat with Diatomaceous earth if I keep her.
