Strain
Growing this plant was both a pain in the ass, as well as a delight. I guess we can say that about a lot of things in life. It was hard to grow in that the branches on my plant never got hard. They wouldnāt stand on their own without support, and this made them very easy to break even when trying to be cautious. The buds are huge and dense and the plant smells divine. She had some leaf issues, but nothing terrible. Read the diary for details.
SMOKE REPORT
Iām going to start by saying WOW! This lovely Lady smells amazing in bud form, but DAMN!! Ground up it just fills your nose with a fruity sweet smell that is hard to relate to marijuana. It is a mix of berries, fruit, and earth.
The taste is different to me than my wife in that I taste a hint of grapefruit at the end, but my wife only tastes the sweet berry, fruit flavors. She says itās like raisins at the end, but I donāt taste it. It really doesnāt matter because itās nice and smooth, and tastes lovely either way you look at it.
The effects were different for my wife and I as well, but kind of the same. Itās just the degree of like ability thatās different.
Let me start by stating a sort of disclaimer. The bud we smoked is from the broken branches from July 28th. The branches broke while I was moving the plant during the harvest of another plant, and they were just hung up to dry with the Blueberry Muffin I was harvesting at the time. The rest of the buds (which have just begun to cure) have not been tried yet, and kept growing and maturing for an additional 2 weeks longer than what we smoked.
Now, after having said all that; Blue Ox is super chill! The effect is slow and gradual (but not too slow), but wholly complete. You feel it first in your perception of the world around you. What I mean is that you become super focused and calm. All of your pain slowly begins to disappear until itās all gone. Neck, back, knees. Pain free! Your mood is relaxed to the point that you donāt want to do anything but just chill out and relax. It was like being in your normal mode, but knocked down to low gear. I didnāt note any euphoria, or other āhighā kind of head effects at all, but I was so relaxed that I didnāt care. My wife is in LOVE with this strain. She says it is the best that she has tried to date, and likes it very much.
Munchies!!! OMFG! Snacks are a must for this strain because you canāt seem to stop snacking, but thatās not all together a bad thing.
Overall, Iām pleased with this strain, but I am hoping for more heady feelings from the main plant once it has been given time to cure properly. As it is now, if the effects hold true; Blue Ox is something that I would want to smoke after a particularly hard or stressful day. If you need to clear your head of worry or stress, or youāre feeling some pain anywhere and just want to relax, then Blue Ox is the strain for you. If youāre having any problems with nausea, or loss of appetite, or just need to eat, then Blue Ox may be for you as well. Itās said to be used by cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, and I can see how that may be a benefit of this strain.
Iām beginning to understand the many differences in the world of marijuana, and I can see how every strain can find itās own niche in the world. Weed is wonderful, and I enjoy learning more and more about it, and improving my understanding of it all with each plant I grow.
If the effects of smoking the Blue Ox change after smoking the other bud once it has cured for a couple of weeks Iāll update the smoke report accordingly. Until then; this concludes the grow diary for my Blue Ox by Rare Dankness Seeds
