Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Someone help me with how to make my top colas bigger!?!? Not enough phosphorus? Too close to the led lights? Left tent is a week ahead. Fair amount of stretching this week. This time I’m paying close attention to keep flower sites high up. My experiment with bottom lighting did not went so great. I had a record yield but the quality was really bad in about 30-35% of flowers. Weak density. I’m definitely going to try again from the beginning but not this time. I have to pay attention to not let any plant get to big of a dryback in veg. It really influences the later stretching and make the plant too compact in sensitive cultivars.

Hey guys, The ladies are doing great, Luke's leaves are slowly turning purple and generally yellow. Anakin is a bit behind and will probably take another 2-3 weeks. Luke will be harvested soon, the weather is just too tropical for me, I get almost 85% humidity in the evenings, which is just too high, I think this will be my last outdoor grow. Luke smells so delicious, a mixture of grandma's fabric softener and fruity lemon.

Sunday August 2nd. Second Week of the Girl started Unfortunately i dropped the small teapot with the Plant So I had to get another Pot And transplanted her today Into Fortunately she was not harmed, and doing very well She gets topped soon

Looks like this might be the last week for this girl. Was hoping to see more change in tricomes but not sure if worth the wait. Give it a few more days and see what the loop says.

💩Holy Crap💩 That was so much fun , it's full on winter where I am and it kept me busy , and come on there's nothing like growing your own stuff. I had a blast as it's been at least over 10 years since my last indoor grow , and it was fun , I had used all of my old techniques and equipment and it worked out just fine , so I was glad I had a ruff idea of what to expect...... Final thoughts Gonna be honest about that grow , it should me just how far Genetics have come, 10 plus years ago before I stopped growing indoors , all we had was like lowrider auto and greenomatic auto and maybe few others but they were horrible...... but this auto produced quite well as expected it should with the size of my medium and my soil base and very little nutrients, which is what I had hoped for from the start , cause I didn't really know where to start in terms of Genetics as I have been out the game for awhile but I'm super glad with the results and some gratitude needs to be sent to CanukSeeds , they came through as it always starts and ends with elite Genetics👌 ........... I can't wait to start my next grow diary, so keep an eye out , there's gonna be more to come , I'm going to try some really interesting cultivars........ PS. Hello, this week and the next ones will be peaceful. It's +-34 days of the girls' life. About 30 more days and we'll switch to flowering. The smell is delicious. I hope that the girls will also give me lush buds. Due to the use of new plant cultivation techniques, I have small concerns about growth, but I hope that my technique will work and I will base on it. (34 days of feminized seeds and the stem at the base has a circumference of 4.5 cm 😁. I should also start fertilization now, but it's already over. Start of week 6. Blueberry continues to be the hungriest of the group. The two OG kush are filling in nicely, lots of bud growth! The Super Lemon Haze is also showing beautiful bud growth.

It’s had a big growth spurt. It’s more than doubled in size. The first buds are starting to appear. It’s already developing a faint scent. What I can definitely say is that it’s no longer a dwarf. I’m curious to see whether it’ll grow any taller or whether it’ll stay this size. In any case, I’m very happy with it and how it’s growing in the greenhouse.

Hey everyone 😃. This week is still going perfectly 😃👍. The trichomes have been checked (70% milky, 20% amber and 10% clear) so there is still some time until harvest :-). Let's start the week: Flowering day 56 Today the plant was checked for health. Flowering day 57 Today it was poured with 1.2 l, only with Clean Fruits so that you can use up your remaining nutrients 👍. Flowering day 58 The humidifier was refilled and the tent cleaned. Flowering day 59 Today was only controlled. Flowering day 60 The humidifier was refilled and the tent cleaned. Flowering day 61 Today was poured with 1 liter, and the trichomes checked, of course the tent was also cleaned. Flowering day 62 Today was cleaned, the plant cobtrolized for trichomes, mold and health. everything looks great 👍. And fresh osmosis water was filled in tanks for next week. The way the trichomes look like, is harvested in about 10-14 days 👌👍. . FIRST DAYS ------------- New week, new diet The girls are getting 3+3ml of Grow A+B, and still 2ml of Voodoo. Instead of 3 waterings of 1L, we are now doing 3 x 3L. One of the girls has some minor burns, so I am keeping a close eye on that. An excess of nutrients seems unlikely to me, but I will see in a few days after this increase. MIDWEEK ----------- It's probably not just the Voodoo, but my girls have grown a lot this week. I think they like this little juice 😉The root system still has some work to fill the 15L of coco, but things are going well. As for the small burns on the leaves, I think it's due to heat and/or wind stress: the temperature frequently rose to +35°C and the leaves were shaken by my fans, which were directed straight at them. I increased the speed of my filter and placed the fans facing the sides of the tent while increasing the air flow; we're back to an average of 30°C. To be continued. But most importantly, the girls have developed 4-5 nodes... so it's training time! 👍 I know what many people think about topping autos, but I disagree; it clearly has the advantage of giving the plant an airy structure that is easy to control and produces denser buds when combined with mainlining and light lollipopping. My goal: a 6-branch structure, which may eventually develop a few side branches. To achieve this, two toppings a week apart and some serious LST are needed. I'll try to film the whole process, training sess by training sess, and post the results here in a few weeks. Sorry again for the poor media content. The project was coming to an end and I was starting with another one, my first hydro grow. Pollen was kept fertile and used after with great results too. Sadly I don't think I have the notes where I counted how many seeds came from this plant, but well see, I'll keep digging.
