Rough week! Found two major hermie issues Pheno #5&2. Could be because they where the OGs and they just had a long stressful life. Really bummed because they where the biggest in the tent for sure. Have a coupoe tops with orange hairs so maybe got pollinated, all i can do is keep my eye on them! Besides that everything is looking so great had to re-train and move canopy around but still have full coverage. Getting allot more tops

Fat buds and 4 phenotypes. The first two are very similar: indica and very productive. One is a highly sativa phenotype who grows high but have large-indica leaves. At last I found a not so big yielding phenotype but it produced top buds with much resin.

Flushed yesterday. I want to harvest friday or saturday, but I would like to get in one more flush. Well today is the day. All three are coming down on this holy day, 4/20/19. Im going to turn my customized grow tent into a dark dry room for at least two weeks (Aprox temp: 50-60*/ Aprox RH: 50%). Im also going to do my best to keep Big Lemon in one piece and do a whole plant hang dry. I will be placing the smallest budding plant (The Cheese) into a smaller tent with plenty of light and Co2. However, it is only day 56 into true flower (+ 2 weeks of transition=70 days of flower) for Big Lemon. It has a recommendation of 60-70 days, according to the breeder. I lend some credence to breeder flowering suggestions, because most of the time their relatively accurate. Its gonna be a busy day, and ill be sure to post before an after harvest pics/vids. Week four progressed well. She handles the LST like a champ and bounced back from the light defoliation that was necessary to reap the full benefits of her training. This is definitely a hardy strain. Not minding the 90F temps at all. Had to treat her with some light spinosad spray to do a bit of insect control. Won't be able to for much longer once she starts with budset. She smells already, a very deep and classic skunk scent and not a preflower to be seen. She's going to be a strong scented lady by week 8 or 9, I can tell already. Gave another dose of Fish Mix + Grow + Recharge for the week. She seems to love it. Not much else to report for now. July 18: still recovering from the hail storm 7 days ago, but looking good. Start force flowering tonight. That means in the dark garage at 9 pm, a few seconds of 730 nm far red light to initiate ‘dark mode’ 2 h faster, and then out of garage at 7 am. So I get 10 +2 or 12 h of darkness in a ‘26 h’ day. Great trick if you have daily access to your flowering plants. July 19: added second layer of scrog net. Watered with a compost tea this morning. July 22: added Plagron Power Buds for first use. Despite the hail damage from 11 days ago, she seems to be doing fine. Need to get malted barley for use as a top dressing. Godfather OG is in the G-Wagon with Gorilla Cookies Fast.

In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. The buds are very tight, but they didn't grow large colas so that means wasted time trimming cannabis, which I am not a huge fan of. I will not be growing this strain again, as I believe there are far better breeders and strains out there. I will continue to seek out the best breeders and strains until I am satisfied. I believe this Auto will yield in the 16-22 Ounce range dry, so I am not super disappointed, but I know I can do much better than this. After 6 days of drying, it took me around 7 hours to trim this auto, and she ended up yielding 16.72 Ounces. So she was definitely on the lower end of the spectrum from what I estimated on chop day, but still in the range. The buds are very tight, and smell like like cheese. Was out for the weekend and came back to this. Predatory mites seem to have done their thing - no sign of spider mites from last week after leaving the tent alone for a couple days. Buds are swelling, canopy is getting a little denser again. Bit of vertical increase too (eyeballing it) but thats prbly just the buds stacking upwards a little. Excited to see her get fatter the next couple days and weeks!

This grow I am going to do it differently. I am going to do day tracking instead of date tracking. I am using using pre-grown ( two grows ago) Coco mix with nature suppers soil to experiment with reusing grow medium. The pots are 5 gallon air pots. I have never used these before so we will see. The 1st take on them that they are very messy compared to fabric pots. Once established, I will be using half strength Advanced Nutrients for Coco since these are autos. Day 1 - 3 Seeds soaked overnight and were put directly into the 5 gallon pots. I pre-soaked the Coco with 5ml/gallon Clonex and covered the seeds with a mason jar. Day 2 - Temp stayed around 78 all day with me going in and out of the tent looking for a sprout. Nothing yet. 😀 Kept the Coco moist under the jar. Day 3 - Nothing popping Day 4 - Two have popped. Day 5 - One did not pop so I put another seed in Day 6 - The little ones are growing up. It brings a tear to my eye. 😥 Day 7 - The replaced seed looks to be comming up.

Hello everyone. Here is the week one update for my Peyote Critical diary from Barney’s Farm. She is doing okay so far—not in absolute peak condition, but pushing through nicely! To give her a little boost, I am stepping up the nutrient feeding slightly this week. Feeding & Environment Log Parameter Current Week Status / Adjustments CANNA Coco A & B Increasing from 1.0 ml to 1.5 ml CANNA Rhizotonic Maintaining at 2.0 ml per liter of water Humidity Lower today at 56% (normally swinging between 62% – 65%) Temperature Steady as per the winter tent setup There isn't too much else to report just yet as she finds her footing. They say patience is a virtue, but watching a seedling grow is the only time you can stare at a green speck for an hour and convince yourself it just grew a millimeter! So I suspect the Golden Goat to have subtle mag def. I’ve upped the Epsom salts a bit to help. Also the Mandarine XL Auto is amazing and this discoloration in its leaves I believe to be from getting handled and snagging on the trellis when bending through. I try to be delicate, but it shows. I’ve not been taking meticulous account of things but here’s as of day 19… Day 19: Low/High - 66F at night, 76F during the day. Moisture Levels: set @ 56% RH Moisture level fluctuations from 54%-68% depending on time and temperature as well as moisture levels in the pot itself. As the pot gets dry I will lower the VPD a bit. Fly Traps: CLEAN-w/ 2 fungus gnats (1/week) both located @ MXL (MXL= Mandarine XL Auto) No signs of mold or mildew. Ventilation Setting: Humidity 57% RH Light Intensity (Dimmer Switch @ 75%) 3” tall. The Critical Purple Autoflower shares the tent: while exhibiting signs similar to mosaic virus, I believe this to not be the case, and instead a genetic pigment deformation possibly induced from the high UV LED lights. I’m only basing this theory of of other anecdotes. I’m not willing to test the contagion properties, but I’m going to pop a seed for just that purpose. Until then I wear gloves or wash hands and sterilize equipment before and after each plant until I can rule out a contagion or not. Planing to update my feed and get some ppm measurements. Also I’m thinking the MXL is ready for a little Regalia and a foliar feed. Only thing is a 2 hour window from 3-5am! But I will feed a little Regalia and Venerate sometime this week.
