## Germination Week | The Journey Begins
Welcome everyone.
Before we begin, a small explanation.
With the current GrowDiaries photo limitations, I've decided to document each phenotype in its own dedicated diary. Instead of grouping multiple plants together, every phenotype will now receive its own space from seed to harvest.
This allows me to continue documenting each run as thoroughly as possible while selecting the best photographs from every stage of development.
The objective remains exactly the same as always:
To create an honest, educational, and complete record of the grow from seed to harvest, sharing both the successes and the lessons learned along the way.
Today, that journey begins with Cash Express Pheno A.
---
## A New Seed, A New Story
Every grow starts with a seed.
Small.
Quiet.
Full of possibilities.
For this run, we're following Cash Express from Zamnesia Seeds, grown under a 12/12 from seed schedule from the very first day of life.
A method that is a little different from what most growers choose, but one that has become part of my own cultivation style over time.
Throughout this diary, I'll do my best to explain not only what I'm doing, but also why I'm doing it, sharing observations, experiments, successes, and mistakes as honestly as possible.
Cash Express is a cultivar I've been looking forward to documenting. As with every new genetic, part of the excitement comes from not knowing exactly how each phenotype will express itself. Every seed carries its own potential, and every plant tells its own story.
---
## Germination Using the Cannakan System
For germination we used the Cannakan system.
The concept is simple and practical.
The container is divided into separate chambers, allowing multiple cultivars to be germinated simultaneously while remaining properly labeled and organized.
Each seed was placed inside using only plain water.
Nothing else.
No additives.
No stimulants.
No nutrients.
Just water.
Within approximately 24 hours healthy taproots had already emerged and the seeds were ready for the next stage.
Fast.
Clean.
Simple.
Exactly what we hope to see from healthy, vigorous seeds.
---
## Why Only Water?
One question that often comes up during germination is:
"Why not feed the seed immediately?"
The answer is simple.
The seed already contains everything required for its first stage of development.
Nature prepared that package long before we arrived.
Inside the seed are the energy reserves and nutritional resources needed to establish roots and begin life.
At this stage, I prefer to let the seed do what it was designed to do.
Water is enough.
The goal is not to feed the plant.
The goal is simply to wake it up.
---
## First Experience With Coco Starter Plugs
This run also marks my first experience using coco starter plugs.
The plugs were fully saturated with water and then gently squeezed to remove excess moisture, leaving an ideal balance between water retention and oxygen availability.
Once germinated, the seeds were carefully inserted into the plugs and placed inside a humidity dome.
The dome remained useful for only a short period.
In less than 24 hours the seedlings had already emerged and were ready for the next step.
At that point they were transplanted into small containers filled with Plagron Lightmix.
---
## Environment
The early environment was intentionally simple.
Temperatures remained around 26–27°C.
Humidity was maintained between 65–70% using a Spider Farmer humidifier.
Rather than keeping seedlings inside extremely humid conditions for extended periods, I personally prefer introducing them relatively early to the environment they will actually experience during growth.
The idea is adaptation rather than prolonged protection.
Airflow remains extremely gentle at this stage.
Just enough movement to keep the air fresh without stressing young seedlings.
---
## Heat Mat Temperatures
The propagation mat was running around 40°C.
That may sound high at first, but the actual rooting environment remains significantly cooler than the heating source itself.
The heat source must operate above the target root-zone temperature to compensate for environmental losses and maintain stable conditions where the roots are developing.
The objective is not to expose the seedlings to excessive temperatures.
The objective is to provide a warm, stable environment that encourages rapid and healthy germination.
---
## Lighting
Lighting during germination is intentionally soft.
Young seedlings do not require intense light.
The goal is simply to encourage healthy early growth while avoiding unnecessary stress.
Once established, these girls will move under the Future Of Grow Black Series 600W full-spectrum LED system where the real journey begins.
Discussions about PPFD and light intensity will come later as the plants develop and become capable of utilizing stronger light levels efficiently.
For now, healthy establishment remains the priority.
---
## First Observations
So far, everything has gone exactly as hoped.
Fast germination.
Healthy taproots.
Strong emergence.
Good vigor.
Healthy color.
And perhaps most importantly:
Curiosity.
Every cultivar expresses itself differently.
Every phenotype has its own personality.
And every grow teaches something new.
This is only the first chapter.
---
## Looking Ahead
Next week we will begin following Cash Express Pheno A through the first stages of growth.
We'll discuss:
- Early development
- Root establishment
- Initial structure
- Environmental conditions
- Watering strategy
- Light intensity
- And whatever surprises she decides to reveal along the way
Because no matter how many grows we complete, every seed still carries a little mystery inside.
And honestly?
That mystery is part of what keeps us coming back.
Huge thanks to Zamnesia Seeds for the genetics, Plagron for the substrate and nutrition, Future Of Grow for the lighting, and everyone following along on this new adventure.

Vegetative Week 1 | Building Momentum
Hello GrowDiaries family! 👋🌱
Welcome back to another chapter of this 12/12 From Seed adventure.
This week we continue the journey with Cash Express Pheno A as she completes her first full week of vegetative growth and begins settling into her final home.
Following a smooth germination and early seedling stage, she has now officially entered the phase where roots begin exploring new territory and the plant starts building the framework that will support the rest of the cycle.
While every plant in this project shares the same environment, nutrition program, and methodology, each phenotype brings its own personality to the garden.
And Cash Express Pheno A is already beginning to introduce herself.
⸻
Straight Into The Final Home
As with all plants in this project, Pheno A was transplanted directly into her final container early in life.
Since this run follows a strict 12/12 From Seed methodology, the objective is to avoid unnecessary interruptions to root development.
By allowing the roots to establish themselves immediately inside their final container, we reduce transplant stress later in the cycle and give the plant every opportunity to maximize its limited vegetative window.
At this stage, everything happening below the surface is just as important as what we can see above it.
⸻
Plagron Lightmix Foundation
The growing medium for this run is Plagron Lightmix.
Lightmix provides a gentle starting environment for young plants while still offering enough nutrition to support healthy early development.
For seedlings, less is often more.
The goal is not explosive growth during the first week.
The goal is creating a stable environment where roots can expand freely and plants can establish themselves without unnecessary stress.
So far, Pheno A seems very happy with the arrangement.
⸻
Water First, Feed Later
The first irrigation after transplant consisted of plain water only.
During the first days of life, seedlings still rely heavily on the energy reserves stored within the seed itself. Combined with the nutrition already present in the Lightmix substrate, there is little reason to rush additional feeding.
Around Day 4 we introduced a gentle nutrition program consisting of:
🌱 Terra Grow
🌱 Pure Zym
🌱 Power Roots
🌱 Sugar Royal
All products were used at light dosages with the goal of supporting root development, microbial activity, and overall plant health without pushing growth unnecessarily hard.
The philosophy remains simple:
Healthy roots first.
Everything else follows.
⸻
Light Strategy & 12/12 From Seed
One question that often comes up when growers follow these diaries is why the seedlings are already receiving approximately 350 PPFD.
Under an 18/6 schedule this might seem relatively strong for plants this young.
However, because this project is being run under a 12/12 schedule from seed, total daily light accumulation remains significantly lower than what plants would receive under traditional vegetative schedules.
This is where DLI (Daily Light Integral) becomes important.
Although the PPFD is moderate, the reduced lighting duration keeps the total daily light exposure within a comfortable range for young plants.
The objective is early adaptation rather than rapid acceleration.
By gradually introducing stronger light from the beginning, the plants learn to work efficiently under the conditions they will experience throughout the entire cycle.
⸻
Environmental Conditions
Conditions remained stable throughout the week:
🌡️ Day temperature: 27°C
🌙 Night temperature: approximately 25°C
💧 Relative humidity: 55%
🌱 Solution temperature: 21°C
🌱 Substrate temperature: 21°C
🌿 CO₂ levels: approximately 600 ppm
Maintaining consistency remains one of the most important aspects of early plant development, and so far the environment has remained exactly where we want it.
⸻
Early Observations
Cash Express Pheno A appears to have adapted very well to her new environment.
Growth has been steady throughout the week and by the end of the reporting period we are already seeing the emergence of healthy three-finger leaves.
Leaf color remains vibrant and uniform.
Structure appears symmetrical.
The stem is developing nicely and overall growth feels balanced and confident.
At approximately 3.5 cm tall, she may still be small, but she is already showing signs of healthy progression and strong establishment.
This is exactly the kind of development we hope to see during Week 1.
Nothing rushed.
Nothing forced.
Simply healthy growth built on solid foundations.
⸻
Looking Ahead
As we move into the second week, the root system should continue expanding rapidly while vegetative growth begins to accelerate above the soil.
The appearance of the first true leaf sets is often where individual phenotype traits begin revealing themselves, and it will be interesting to see what characteristics Cash Express Pheno A decides to express as the journey continues.
For now, she is healthy, stable, and steadily moving forward.
Exactly where we want her to be.
⸻
Thank You
A huge thank you to Zamnesia for providing the Cash Express genetics for this project.
Thank you to Plagron for the nutrition and substrate supporting this run.
And thank you to Future of Grow and everyone following along and supporting these diaries.
Your support makes projects like this possible.
As always, thank you for stopping by.

DogDoctorOfficial Week 2 - Cash Express (Pheno A) 💸🌱
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another update from the 8×8 Adventure!
For anyone joining the journey for the first time, this run follows multiple Zamnesia cultivars and phenotypes grown side-by-side under a 12/12-from-seed schedule. Each phenotype receives its own dedicated diary so we can document individual development, compare expressions, and observe how different plants reveal their genetics from seed to harvest.
By documenting Pheno A and Pheno B separately, we can follow each plant’s individual story from seed to harvest. Some phenotypes develop similarly, while others immediately begin showing their own personality. Cash Express Pheno A has already made it clear that she belongs in the second category.
This project is conducted entirely under a 12/12-from-seed schedule. Rather than extending the vegetative period, the plants receive 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness from day one. The goal is not maximum plant size but rather an efficient exploration of genetics, structure, vigor, and flowering characteristics while maintaining a manageable garden.
Week 2 Overview
The second week has brought excellent development throughout the entire room. Seedlings are rapidly transitioning into young vegetative plants, root systems continue expanding beneath the surface, and growth rates have noticeably increased compared to the first week.
PPFD has now been increased to approximately 370 µmol/m²/s, providing additional energy as the plants become capable of handling stronger light levels.
Environmental conditions remained stable throughout the week:
• Light Schedule: 12/12
• Day Temperature: 27°C
• Night Temperature: 25°C
• Relative Humidity: 55%
• Solution Temperature: 20.1°C
• Substrate Temperature: 21°C
• CO₂: Ambient (~600 ppm)
Watering remains intentionally moderate at this stage. Each plant received approximately 250 ml on Day 8 and another 250 ml on Day 11. Nutrient levels were gradually increased throughout the week as the plants continued responding positively to feeding.
Week-ending values:
• EC: 0.9 mS/cm
• pH: 6.0
Current feeding schedule:
• Terra Grow – 1.8 ml/L
• Pure Zym – 1 ml/L
• Power Roots – 1 ml/L
• Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L
The response across the room has been extremely positive, with healthy color, strong growth, and no signs of nutrient stress.
Cash Express Pheno A
This phenotype appears to have received one simple instruction from the start:
Grow.
And keep growing.
While the rest of the room is developing nicely, Cash Express Pheno A seems determined to stay one step ahead of the pack.
At only Week 2 she is already establishing herself as one of the most vigorous plants in the entire 8×8 Adventure. Growth has been rapid, consistent, and balanced, with every new set of leaves emerging larger than the last.
The first thing that stands out is her size.
Even compared to her own sister phenotype, the difference is becoming noticeable. For that reason, a few comparison photos have been included in this update so readers can easily see the contrast without needing to jump between diaries.
The second thing that stands out is the quality of the growth.
Leaf structure is excellent.
Symmetry is excellent.
Color is excellent.
Node development is uniform and well spaced.
From the very beginning, this plant has shown remarkably clean development, producing healthy leaves with excellent shape and vibrant green coloration throughout the canopy.
There are no strange growth patterns to investigate.
No unusual leaf morphology.
No signs of hesitation.
Just healthy, confident growth.
Sometimes the most exciting phenotype is not the weird one.
Sometimes it’s the one that simply does everything right.
And right now, Cash Express Pheno A is doing exactly that.
Development Notes
During Week 2, the plant continued building structure at an impressive pace.
Five-finger leaves are now clearly established and becoming increasingly prominent. New growth remains vigorous, internodal spacing looks balanced, and the plant is developing the strong foundation needed for the coming weeks.
The canopy continues expanding evenly while maintaining excellent symmetry from side to side.
Overall, this phenotype currently represents one of the strongest examples of healthy early vegetative development in the room.
Mr. Baggy Report
Mr. Baggy remains actively involved in daily operations throughout the 8×8 Adventure.
Current responsibilities include growth inspections, environmental supervision, quality control assessments, and occasional morale boosting.
His enthusiasm remains considerably higher than his documented productivity.
Looking Ahead
If development continues at the current pace, next week should bring:
• Significant canopy expansion
• Larger five-finger leaves
• Additional node development
• Stronger stem growth
• Increased branching potential
• Further phenotype expression
At the moment, Cash Express Pheno A appears determined to lead from the front, and it will be exciting to see whether she can maintain that momentum as the project progresses.
Final Thoughts
Week 2 leaves me extremely impressed with this phenotype.
Healthy growth.
Excellent structure.
Beautiful foliage.
Strong vigor.
Everything about this plant suggests she has settled comfortably into her environment and is eager to continue pushing forward.
While many plants reveal their personality through unusual traits, Cash Express Pheno A is making her statement through pure performance.
For now, she seems to have only one destination in mind:
The moon.
A huge thank you to everyone following along, commenting, sharing advice, and supporting the project.
Special thanks to Zamnesia, Plagron, Future of Grow, and everyone helping make this journey possible.
Most importantly, thank you to the entire growing community for continuing to share knowledge, encouragement, and passion for growing.
Thank you for stopping by, and I’ll see you all next week for another update from the 8×8 Adventure.

DogDoctorOfficial Cash Express – Pheno A | Week 3
A Picture of Vigor
Welcome back to another week of the 8×8 Adventure, where twelve cultivars are being documented individually under a 12/12-from-seed schedule. Each phenotype receives its own dedicated diary, allowing us to observe not only cultivar differences but also the subtle variations that appear between sister plants sharing the same genetic foundation.
Week 3 has been a week of acceleration.
The entire room received a substantial increase in light intensity, moving from approximately 370 µmol/m²/s PPFD to 700 µmol/m²/s PPFD at canopy level. Nutrient strength increased alongside the lighting, and the plants have responded with enthusiasm.
Growth rates are increasing, branching is becoming more apparent, and the room is beginning to transition from seedlings into young plants with real structure and personality.
Among them, Cash Express Pheno A is making a very strong first impression.
⸻
Week 3 Environment
🌡️ Temperature: 27.4°C
💧 Relative Humidity: 55%
💡 PPFD: ~700 µmol/m²/s
🌱 Medium: Plagron Lightmix
? Growing Method: 12/12 From Seed
💦 Water Consumption: ~0.9–1.2L per day
Feeding Schedule
Days 18
* EC 1.0
* pH 5.99–6.0
* Approximately 1L
Days 21–
* EC 1.3
* pH 6.0
* Approximately 1.2L
The environment remains stable, which allows each cultivar to express its genetic potential without external stress factors influencing development.
⸻
Cash Express Pheno A
Some plants attract attention because they are unusual.
Others attract attention because they are simply doing everything right.
Cash Express Pheno A belongs firmly in the second category.
Looking through this week’s photographs, the first word that comes to mind is:
Vigor.
Everything about this plant communicates health.
The leaves are broad and evenly developed.
The coloration is rich and consistent.
The stem is sturdy.
The internodal spacing remains compact.
And perhaps most importantly, the overall symmetry is excellent.
From above, the plant displays a clean, balanced structure that many growers hope to see at this stage of development. Each new node seems to emerge with confidence, stacking neatly above the previous one while maintaining a very organized architecture.
The increased PPFD appears to have been welcomed rather than merely tolerated.
Instead of stretching toward the light, the plant is building mass.
The canopy is widening.
The stem is thickening.
The branching is becoming more defined.
This is exactly the kind of response growers hope to see when increasing light intensity.
One of my favorite observations this week is the contrast between the mature fan leaves and the fresh emerging growth.
The older leaves provide a strong foundation while the new growth pushes upward with remarkable energy, creating that vibrant layered look that healthy plants often display during rapid vegetative development.
There is a confidence to this phenotype.
No strange leaf shapes.
No unusual growth patterns.
No hesitation.
Just steady, healthy progression.
Sometimes perfection can be boring.
But in the garden, perfection is still beautiful.
And this plant is undeniably beautiful.
⸻
Reading the Plant
One of the most important lessons in cultivation is learning to observe rather than assume.
This week offered a perfect example.
When PPFD was increased to approximately 700 µmol/m²/s, the goal was not simply to provide more light.
The goal was to see how the plants would respond.
Cash Express Pheno A answered quickly.
The leaves remained comfortable and relaxed.
The plant maintained healthy posture.
New growth accelerated.
Color remained strong.
These signals tell us that the plant is utilizing the additional photons effectively rather than becoming stressed by them.
This is why environmental monitoring is so valuable.
Plants communicate continuously.
The challenge is learning how to listen.
⸻
Structure and Development
At this stage, Pheno A is developing into a plant that could potentially become a very balanced individual later in flower.
Several characteristics stand out:
* Excellent symmetry
* Strong central growth
* Healthy branching development
* Compact internodal spacing
* Consistent leaf morphology
* Strong response to increased PPFD
The architecture currently suggests a phenotype capable of building a dense, productive canopy while maintaining a manageable structure.
Of course, the real story is still ahead.
Week 3 only gives us the first hints of what this plant may become.
But those hints are promising.
Very promising.
⸻
Looking Ahead
Over the next week, I will be watching closely for:
* Continued branch development
* Response to the higher EC feeding schedule
* Growth rate compared to neighboring cultivars
* Structural changes as additional nodes form
* Early indicators of flowering transition under the 12/12 schedule
If the current pace continues, this plant could quickly establish itself as one of the stronger performers in the room.
For now, she remains one of the cleanest examples of healthy development in the entire project.
⸻
Thank You
A huge thank you to everyone following along with this journey.
Thank you to the entire GrowDiaries community for providing a place where growers can document, learn, share experiences, and support one another.
Thank you to Plagron for the nutrition and cultivation support powering this project.
Thank you to Zamnesia for the genetics, equipment, and opportunity to document these cultivars from seed to harvest.
And thank you to every grower, reader, supporter, and curious visitor who takes time out of their day to follow these updates.

DogDoctorOfficial Cash Express – Pheno A | Week 4
Full Steam Ahead
Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure, where twelve cultivars are being documented individually from seed to harvest under a strict 12/12-from-seed schedule. Every phenotype follows its own diary, allowing each plant to reveal its unique personality while growing under exactly the same environment and feeding program.
Another week has passed, and the room continues to transform at an incredible pace.
What started as twelve tiny seedlings is rapidly becoming a forest filled with individual characters, each responding differently despite sharing identical conditions. That’s one of my favourite parts of this project—watching genetics tell their own stories.
This week also reminded me that Mother Nature has a funny sense of humour.
The environmental controller proudly displayed 33.3°C alongside 63% humidity.
Apparently the grow room has decided that three is the lucky number this week.
Despite the higher temperatures, the elevated humidity helped keep the plants comfortable, and growth across the room never missed a beat. Every day the canopy became denser, greener, and noticeably more alive.
⸻
Week 4 Environment
🌡️ Temperature: 33.3°C
💧 Relative Humidity: 63%
💡 PPFD: 700–800 µmol/m²/s
🌱 Medium: Plagron Lightmix
? Growing Method: 12/12 From Seed
One interesting change this week wasn’t caused by the lights—it was caused by the plants themselves.
Some phenotypes have entered a much stronger vertical growth phase, naturally moving closer to the fixtures. Those taller individuals are now receiving around 800 PPFD, while shorter plants remain closer to 700 PPFD.
The light hasn’t changed.
The plants have.
Watching each phenotype respond differently under identical conditions continues to be one of the most fascinating parts of this entire project.
⸻
Feeding Strategy
The nutrition program has continued to evolve alongside the increasing demands of the garden.
During the establishment phase, irrigation remained around pH 5.8, creating ideal conditions for vigorous root development.
As those root systems expanded throughout the containers, the nutrient solution gradually shifted toward pH 6.1, allowing access to a broader spectrum of available nutrients within the substrate.
At the same time, nutrient concentration was increased progressively throughout the week, finishing around EC 1.8.
Nothing dramatic.
No aggressive jumps.
Simply allowing the plants to dictate the pace rather than forcing one.
Healthy roots create healthy plants, and the steady growth throughout the room suggests they’re very happy with the direction we’re taking.
⸻
Cash Express – Pheno A
If this lady had a motto, it would probably be:
“Catch me if you can.”
From the beginning she’s shown an incredible desire to grow, and this week that enthusiasm became even more obvious.
While several of the other phenotypes are still building compact structures, Pheno A has decided she’s in a hurry. She’s stretching confidently toward the light while simultaneously producing an impressive amount of lateral growth, creating a plant that feels both elegant and powerful.
What has impressed me most isn’t simply her height.
It’s how well she’s responding to every bit of training.
Throughout the week I’ve continued gently tucking leaves and applying light stress training wherever needed to open the canopy. Rather than slowing down, she seems to reward every adjustment by pushing even more vigorous side branches toward the light.
It’s exactly the kind of response every grower hopes for.
Each newly exposed branch immediately begins reaching upward, gradually transforming the plant into a much more balanced structure with multiple future flowering sites.
The internodal spacing remains very attractive—open enough to allow airflow and light penetration, yet close enough to promise dense flower development later on.
Her main stem has thickened noticeably over the past week, giving her a sturdy backbone that’s clearly preparing for the stretch that’s still to come.
The foliage is lush, healthy, and beautifully coloured, while the fresh lime-green growth emerging at every tip is a constant reminder of just how actively she’s developing.
Looking at her now, it’s easy to understand why this cultivar carries the name Cash Express.
She certainly isn’t wasting any time.
Every day she seems determined to be just a little taller, a little fuller, and a little stronger than she was the day before.
⸻
Looking Ahead
Week 5 should become even more exciting.
With flowering now beginning to establish itself, I’m expecting the stretch to continue while the first real flower formation starts becoming visible throughout the canopy.
Over the coming days I’ll be watching closely for:
• Continued vertical stretch.
• Development of the trained side branches.
• Early flower site formation.
• Structural balance after continued LST.
• How she compares to her sister phenotype as flowering progresses.
If this week’s momentum is anything to judge by, she’s only just getting started.
⸻
Thank You
A huge thank you to everyone following this 8×8 Adventure and joining me each week as these incredible genetics continue their journey.
Thank you to the amazing GrowDiaries community for providing a place where growers from all around the world can learn from one another, share experiences, and celebrate this incredible hobby together.
A special thank you to Plagron for supplying the nutrition and cultivation support behind this entire project.
Thank you to Zamnesia for the outstanding genetics, equipment, and the opportunity to document every phenotype from seed to harvest.

DogDoctorOfficial 🚂 Cash Express – Pheno A
Week 5 | Full Steam Ahead
One of the most rewarding parts of documenting an entire phenotype hunt is watching every individual plant write its own story.
Even though this lady shares the same room as several of her sisters, she’s following her own timeline with complete confidence.
Welcome back to another week of the 8×8 Adventure!
For anyone discovering this diary for the first time, this project follows multiple phenotypes under identical environmental conditions using the 12/12 From Seed method.
Instead of forcing flowering by changing the light schedule, every plant receives 12 hours of light from the day she germinates, allowing each phenotype to decide for itself when it’s ready to reproduce.
Cash Express Pheno A has made her decision.
There are no doubts anymore…
Flowering has officially begun.
⸻
🌼 The First Flowers
This week the plant truly announced the beginning of her reproductive stage.
Fresh white pistils are now appearing across every growing tip, marking the first real flower sites.
Those tiny white hairs are far more than just pretty decorations.
Each pistil is part of the female flower and serves as the structure that would naturally receive pollen in nature. In an indoor sinsemilla grow, however, they become the foundation for the beautiful resin-covered buds we’re all hoping to harvest later.
It’s always one of my favourite moments in a grow.
The transition from “plant” to “flowering plant” has officially started.
Although she’s still compact, every day now brings noticeable changes as the flowering sites become more defined.
⸻
💧 AutoPot Life
Like her Blueberry Muffin sister growing beside her, this phenotype has now fully transitioned onto the AutoPot irrigation system.
Instead of watering from the top every day, the plants now feed themselves whenever they need moisture.
At the heart of the system is the AquaValve.
This clever little mechanical valve keeps a shallow reservoir inside each tray, automatically opening and closing as the plant drinks. Once the tray is empty, fresh nutrient solution flows in again, creating a continuous wet-and-dry cycle without electricity or timers at each pot.
It allows the roots to decide when to feed rather than relying on my watering schedule.
So far…
She’s absolutely loving it.

🍽️ Feeding & A Small Observation
This week’s reservoir was prepared using:
• Terra Grow – 1.8 ml/L
• Terra Bloom – 1.9 ml/L
• Power Buds – 1 ml/L
The reservoir remains intentionally simple for AutoPot use, allowing the solution to stay stable while circulating continuously.
During this week’s inspections I also noticed something worth documenting.
Several older fan leaves are beginning to show a gentle loss of colour.
Nothing dramatic.
No burnt tips.
No rapid deterioration.
Just a subtle lightening that suggests she’s beginning to ask for slightly more nutrition as flowering accelerates.
Rather than immediately assuming a deficiency, I prefer making small adjustments and watching how the plant responds.
For that reason I increased the EC slightly this week.
Now the plant gets the opportunity to tell me whether that adjustment is enough.
Growing is often less about reacting quickly…
…and more about listening carefully.
⸻
🌿 Environment
The flowering room continues operating under stable conditions.
• Day temperature averaged 31.1°C
• Night temperature remained around 25°C
• Solution temperature stayed near 21.6°C
• Root zone remained approximately 21°C
• Relative humidity averaged 72%
• Atmospheric CO₂ measured roughly 639 ppm
The humidity may appear a little high, but at this early flowering stage I’m still comfortable maintaining these levels while the plants continue stretching and building new flower sites.
As flowering progresses and the buds begin gaining density, humidity will gradually come down to create an even safer environment for resin production and flower development.
Everything follows the plan.
⸻
📸 Behind This Week’s Photos
This week’s gallery tells a very exciting story.
The close-up photographs capture the explosion of fresh white pistils appearing from nearly every node, confirming that flowering is now fully underway.
The side profiles show a compact but extremely healthy structure, while the overhead shots reveal an even canopy that should make excellent use of the flowering light over the coming weeks.
Some of the photographs also document the slight paling of a few fan leaves.
Rather than hiding these moments, I like including them because they remind us that plants constantly communicate.
Sometimes they’re simply asking for a little more.
Learning to recognise those conversations is part of becoming a better grower.
(And yes… eagle-eyed viewers may notice the photo label accidentally says crash instead of cash. That’s entirely my mistake and will be corrected in the next update. Even diaries have typos sometimes! 😄)
⸻
🔍 Looking Ahead
Next week should be one of the most exciting stages yet.
I expect the flowering sites to begin stacking more aggressively as the stretch continues.
We’ll also be watching closely to see how the increased EC influences the slight leaf discoloration.
If the colour stabilises, we’ll know the adjustment was enough.
If not, the plant will simply tell us she needs a little more.
Either way…
She’ll write the next chapter, and I’ll keep listening.

DogDoctorOfficial 🚂 Cash Express – Pheno A
Week 6 | Flowers Take the Lead
One of the things I enjoy most about running a phenotype hunt is watching each plant reveal her personality one week at a time.
Some explode with vigorous stretch.
Others remain compact while quietly building flowers.
Cash Express Pheno A seems to have found her own rhythm.
Welcome back to another week of the 8×8 Adventure!
For anyone joining this diary for the first time, every plant in this project is being grown using the 12/12 From Seed method. Instead of deciding when flowering begins by changing the light cycle, every seed receives 12 hours of light from the day it germinates, allowing each phenotype to determine its own pace.
Six weeks in, Cash Express Pheno A has fully embraced flowering.
Now the focus is no longer on making flowers...
It's about building them.
⸻
🌼 The Flowering Engine Starts Running
This week brought one of my favourite moments of early flower.
The fresh white pistils that first appeared last week are now multiplying rapidly, and nearly every branch has begun forming small clusters that will eventually become proper buds.
The plant may not be the tallest in the room, nor the largest, but she's proving that size isn't everything.
Her energy is clearly being invested where it matters.
Flower production.
The internodes remain nicely spaced, allowing excellent light penetration throughout the canopy, while every growing tip seems eager to become its own flowering site.
It's still early...
But the blueprint for harvest is already being drawn.
⸻
🌿 A Hands-Off Approach
One thing that hasn't changed this week is my philosophy.
Apart from a little gentle leaf tucking, I've deliberately avoided unnecessary intervention.
No heavy defoliation.
No aggressive pruning.
No major training.
Early flowering is one of the busiest periods in a plant's life. She's stretching, producing flowers, expanding her root system and adjusting her hormonal balance all at once.
Whenever possible, I prefer letting her focus on that work instead of recovering from mine.
Sometimes the best thing a grower can do...
...is simply stay out of the way.
⸻
💧 AutoPot Continues To Deliver
The AutoPot system continues doing exactly what it was designed to do.
With the AquaValve automatically supplying fresh nutrient solution whenever the tray empties, the plant has complete control over when she drinks.
There's no guessing.
No fixed watering schedule.
Just healthy roots deciding when they need food and water.
Week after week, she continues responding beautifully to this consistency, maintaining steady growth while allowing me to focus on observation instead of constant irrigation.
Sometimes the smartest systems are also the simplest.
⸻
🍽️ Feeding
This week's reservoir remained straightforward and stable, consisting of:
• Terra Bloom – 1.9 ml/L
• Power Buds – 1 ml/L
• Green Sensation – 1 ml/L
• Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L
The slight increase in nutrition made last week appears to have done exactly what I hoped.
A few of the oldest fan leaves continue fading as the plant naturally reallocates nutrients toward new growth, but the process remains slow, controlled and completely expected.
The upper canopy looks healthy, vibrant and full of life.
Sometimes older leaves simply finish their job.
And that's perfectly okay.
Solution parameters remained stable at approximately EC 1.78 mS/cm with a pH of 6.0, providing a comfortable balance for continued flower development.
⸻
🌡️ Environment
Environmental conditions remained very consistent throughout the week.
• Day temperature averaged 29°C
• Night temperature remained around 25°C
• Solution temperature stayed close to 22°C
• Root zone averaged approximately 21°C
• Relative humidity remained near 60%
• Atmospheric CO₂ averaged roughly 639 ppm
With flowers now beginning to establish themselves across the canopy, maintaining stable conditions becomes increasingly important.
Healthy roots, consistent nutrition and a predictable environment allow the plant to dedicate her energy where it matters most—building flowers rather than reacting to stress.
Everything continues moving exactly as planned.
⸻
📸 Behind This Week's Photos
This week's photographs capture a very enjoyable stage of the grow.
The close-up shots highlight clusters of bright white pistils appearing at nearly every flowering site, while the full-plant portraits reveal a beautifully balanced structure with evenly spaced branches reaching toward the light.
One detail that also stands out is the gradual fading of a few lower fan leaves.
I intentionally include these moments because real grows aren't about chasing perfection.
They're about understanding what the plant is telling us.
In this case, she's simply shifting resources toward the next stage of her journey.
And honestly...
She looks fantastic doing it.
⸻
🔍 Looking Ahead
Next week should bring one of the most exciting transitions yet.
The stretch will begin slowing down, while the flowers themselves should start stacking more aggressively along each branch.
I'll continue keeping my hands mostly off the plant, limiting myself to occasional leaf tucking whenever a large fan leaf shades an important flowering site.
The goal remains simple.
Provide the best possible environment...
...and let the genetics do what they were designed to do.
If she continues on this path, the coming weeks should become very exciting.
⸻
