She is on day 78 and only getting water from here on out I expect to be giving her the chop in the next week I wish I could have her dried and cured for Christmas but that doesn't seem likely .. but I do know for the beginning of the year we will have some good smoke... Been a tuff week as my ph pen failed so had signs of defiantly But that’s now corrected so hope it didn’t set them all back too much

Hey hey growmies! another longer week, as I wanted to show these girls bouncing back from some problems I ran into with my Kratky experiment. about halfway through the week my plants started drooping and showing signs of overwatering, my guess is either the plant outgrew her air roots or the reservoir was too hot, inhibiting the plants ability to take up oxygen. either way, a quick peek at the roots showed some very healthy looking noodles, so I decided to not take any chances and come up with a solution that would solve both those problems. I took a 3 litre container, put a coat of primer and black paint on it to keep light out, then a layer of plumbers tape to bounce some of the grow lights off of the container, theoretically keeping the heat out, some other things I could have done was paint it white, or put some wall insulation around it. I could have also kept my jars and tried some troubleshooting, fill them less and more often. but I am happy with the roots created by Kratky, that's the nice thing about that system, it forces the roots to grow more horizontally, the roots have now created a sturdy foundation for low stress training and are perfect for placing into DWC. so that's what I did, I added a tiny pump and air stone, and for now both plants will sit in this tiny container, The Runtz will be moved to the tent as soon as possible, hopefully before these girl's roots get entangled, If that does happen, I will have to trim back some of the Runtz roots, I don't want to hurt the autoflower. now you've likely wondered what is up with the host of deficiencies the plants are showing, honestly that's just neglect on my part. I can tell there's damage from overwatering, pH fluctuations and even some lockouts. I am more on top of it now, the pH is more stable, the plants are getting oxygen and will recover plenty before flower. Plus I get to show off how hardy ruderalis is, look at the auto-flower compared to the photo period, she barely cares about the high temps, pH fluctuations all she appears to want is more food, so I have increased the ec to 1 ms, but most importantly, ill keep the pH in a range where they can actually take up the nutrients now That's it for now Growmies, Thanks for checking out my diary. Trainwreck #1 suffered from bud rot and had to be thrown out. That was unfortunate considering the original bud structure was spectacular. Oct. 24 Trainwreck #2 was trimmed & jarred. Week 18 Day 120 | 08/11/2021: I just can’t stop looking at them, they are so plump 🍑 I watered them today with just 1L of plain water because I want to harvest them in 4 days and don’t want them to wilt, but at the same time I know it’s better to let the soil be on the dryer side when harvesting. Day 124 | 12/11/2021: Today the beauties are being harvested!!! So exciting because they’ve been growing for a while and I can’t wait to finally vape them. From day 1, no, even from germination, the seeds were so strong and quite resistant to nutrient deficiencies. Very good and strong genes, I’m really happy that I tried them out! I will be hanging them with the stem to dry for 10-14 days, I keep the leaves so that the humidity can stay high in the tent, I used to struggle a lot with humidity when I would hang them without leaves, and then the buds tasted like hay for the next month, so I try to avoid that now. Can’t wait to see that the total weight is! They are quite big but I think the buds are not extremely dense so it could be deceiving 👀

They did amazing Soaked for 12 hours, they were already starting to show taproots when I put them in the paper towel 16 hours later, they went into solo cups, sprouted soil the next morning🔥

Week 5 of flower and seed production for all these plants has started in earnest. We cleaned up the tent somewhat and took down all the males after having done their job. Alls left is to wait for finish now. The nute deficiency appears to have corrected itself now that we’ve balanced out the ratios a little more. The WPM is no match for the sodium bicarbonate but still gonna have to keep on top of that to the end of the grow. Full fumigation of the grow spaces will be required - multi-day process I am not looking forward to. Time cleaning is time not growing, sadly. We’re coasting to the finish now but should still have some decent updates on our super secret seed harvesting method once they’ve fully matured😉👍. Hope everyone’s well and grow’n that straight 🔥. Background Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. In the event that does take place we’ve got a single clone of each strain from the previous pollen chuck to sit in the tent with them so they can make babies for the next few months. The whole point of the last year was to start making some foundational genetics for a third generational cross we could call our own. If you’ve been following along than you’ll know that it’s been anything but easy. Our previous pollen picks didn’t pan out at all so we’re back to the drawing board with a new option from ExoticSeeds. This’ll be a 10 plant run with 5 regs and 6 strains for pollination including the strain itself. We’re running in a 2x4 MarsHydro grow tent all powered by a Mars Sp6500. That’s a little more than 600w packed into half the recommended footprint😳. Why? you ask - because we like our buds big and overcompensatory😂. Really, I’m just of the mind that we can pack more light into this space than recommended and get much better results. The math doesn’t lie. At least not as long as I wasn’t high when using the calculator again….. Many thanks to @MarsHydroLED for the opportunity to test run the equipment👊. In addition, we’ve also moved to a new nutrient system - Druid Nutrients out of the Netherlands. They don’t really have a presence on GD yet but you’ll be hearing about them very soon I’m sure. The beauty of this system is that it’s literally a 1 (one) component system for the entirety of the plants grow cycle. It really has changed the game in terms of ease of feeding and maintenance. It’s also very versatile and seems to provide everything needed across multiple different strains in the same ratios. Keep your eyes peeled for these folks. Pretty much a guarantee that they absolutely blow up once more people know about them👍👌😎. Strain Background Spicy Bitch: predominantly sativa, heavy yielder with a daytime kinda trip profile. It’s a cross of Queen Mother and a Pre-2000 AK47. We’ll pull what pollen we can and hope to have a female run out a larger supply of seed for the future. Many thanks to @Exoticseeds for the chance to give these beans a go👍👊. Pollination Strains: Holy Surfer S1 - this is one of the focal points for this cycle. A fellow growmie was kind enough to ship over some S1 genetics I took an interest in. The only ask back was that if I did cross it to send a few his way for testing👍. It’s a compact and squat plant requiring very little maintenance. Typical for the strain really. It’s been chosen as an option to potentially mellow out the high , shorten the stature of the resulting hybrid and inject it with some of that mellow indica effect. Boogie Nights - total shot in the dark. Still haven’t even tried the strain myself yet but it was available at the right time and interesting enough to make a salad with. Big thanks to AMS who’ve been nothing short of an excellent seedbank to collaborate with. Expect similar growth characteristics to that of the Northern Lights. Better resilience however. Blueberry - this particular clone is from extremely strong stock. Spliff seeds broke the mold with this strain. She’s lower maintenance than the NL, more resilient than anything else we’ve got on the menu and the terp. Profile on this girl is out of this world. If we can bring any of these qualities to the cross, then it could be magic👌. White Widow - garrghh, I just can’t get away from this particular plant. Again, still haven’t even tested the buds yet and all I can say is that the growth characteristics are extremely vigorous and desirable. This plant is one of 3 unicorns that I have yet to tame due to a combo of extremely bad luck and circumstance. All told, it’s still the same story: a VERY experimental breeding project designed to shotgun a broad swath of genetics against a reliable and dependable Breeder who’s put out proven fire 🔥🤟😎👍.

2nd week of flower almost complete, she’s starting to stretch😅 she’s got all the room in the world above her so she can grow to the sky for all I care, beautiful colours amongst the leaves, the reds, pinks and purples look 💥.. No defoliation, LST or any sort of training this week, Plants being left to just grow naturally from now till harvest. Untill next time👊🏻

This week ( last 4 days) the plant took off. The roots reached the nutrients rich water and the plant is growing very fast. The PPM dropped from 320 to 290 in the last 4 days and the PH is going up. I had to adjust down the PH tow times those last 4 days. My CO2 levels are kind of high ( between 650-1000) without adding any CO2. I’m trying to keep the temperature at 78 degrees Fahrenheit day time and 73 degrees Fahrenheit at night. Humidity swings a lot because of the AC . I’m using a humidifier and I try to keep it between 60 and 80% RH day time and 50-60% RH at night. After I cahanged the water at day 21 I increase the light intensity to 42%. For light I’m using Fluence Spydr 2i along with the fluence dimmer. I’m a beginner, this is my 2nd grow and I don’t have a lot of experience. I will really appreciate any comments or help if you guys notice that I’m doing something wrong. I’m here to learn and gain experience because I love this stuff!!

Transplanted into 3 Gallon Smart pots w/ humidity domes

UPDATE : The plant has now been transplanted into a 5 gallon fabric pot which had been pre watered before hand, I also added some great white mycorrhizae that @MrG was kind enough to send out for me shes been happy with the new transplant growing much more everyday she is almost ready for her 1st top in a couple days but here how she looks as of today there is no point in using any mycorrhizae when using sythentic salt nutes as every time you feed it will just flush the stuff away but i played it smart and transplanted a day after water therefore it had a couple days to sit in the mycorrhizae and possibly work, who knows wether it benefited the plant but was worth a shot and still had rapid growth after doing so, it was 3 days after transplant when i watered so it possibly could of got to work in the mean time before i flushed it away also the morning after transplant i increased the light intensity only by +100ppfd 30% power Temps - Day 24-27 - Night 21-19 RH - 60-75 VPD - Day 0.6kpa - 0.8kpa - Night - 0.5kpa-0.7kpa (roughly) I have started to also feed nutrients at small dosages its been 8 days since there 1st feeding and they seem fine from my knowledge but i did water until run off and tested the EC/PPM of it and it was way too high so i think next water im going to have to flush heres what happend water hardness before feeding was 124ppms water run off hardness risen to 1140ppms 1140ppms is way to much the veg stage and i need to lower it down which i will do so in 3 days in the mean time ill keep a close eye on the girl Happy Growing :)

Day 41 - 07/12/19 This one has grown a hell of a lot of fan leaves. had to pluck a lot of them. now the light can penetrate lower growth. theres a lovely NYCD smell coming from this one! smells amazing! Height is 36cm at the tallest cola and thats with a big LST. trying to keep height down as i have not added rope rachets to my lights yet. Im gonna be giving a fair bit of Nitrogen this week (Canna A), potassium and phosphorus (Canna B) as flowering stage is here :) Changed Ph from around 6.6/6.7 - 6.3 Added a few pictures and a video to show progress from last week. not much else this week just happy little plants! Day 43 - 09/12/19 Just rotating the diesel now twice a day so it all gets light coverage as im keeping my Quick One plant mostly under the flowering lights until its harvest next week. apparently the quick one has a polyploid mutation causing it to have a much bigger yield. so i think it deserves the light for a few more days. The diesel is still giving off that lovely smell and getting bigger every day. its definitely wider than my quick one and soon to be taller. Had to defoliate some of the bigger fan leaves to allow more light through to lower growth as the odd fan leaf was turning yellow. Ive been feeding 2 times with nutes and water phed and giving only phed water on the third occassion to prevent salt buildup and nutrient toxicities.
