Apple Pie. mmmmmm 👋Top is a clean cut, no confusion for the plant, road ahead is clear, by completely removing the main growth tip, the auxin source is eliminated. The plant permanently halts vertical growth from that main stem and immediately sends its energy and hormones to the two new, evenly spaced branches just below the cut. Fimming slightly different because a small tuft of the top growth is left behind, the auxin disruption is temporary and less severe. The plant recovers more quickly and sends its energy to multiple surrounding growth points, often creating four or more new shoots from the same spot. It will eventually regain some vertical dominance after a few weeks if left to its own devices, but with a little more LST, bending the apex to the same height as the rest of the internodes, this shatters dominance, hopefully creating around 8-9 main shoots growing at equal height once recovered and grown out. Reduced environmental intensity for now and let her focus on dealing with this new stress for a week or two. When H+ ions are added to soil, the first nutrient displaced from exchange sites is typically aluminum (Al3+), if it's present, followed by calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), and potassium (K+), because aluminum and these base cations have different binding strengths. The order of displacement depends on the lyotropic series, where ions with a higher positive charge and those with weaker binding strengths are displaced first. The specific order of nutrient displacement is determined by the lyotropic series, which ranks the strength with which cations are adsorbed by soil particles: Al3+: Most strongly adsorbed, so if present, it will be displaced by H+ ions, leading to increased solubility of aluminum and potential plant toxicity. Ca2+: Displaced next, as it is more strongly bound than Mg2+ or K+ but less than Al3+. Mg2+ and K+: Displaced after Ca2+. The displaced nutrients can be lost from the root zone through leaching, becoming unavailable to plants. As H+ ions increase, the proportion of acid cations (H+ and Al3+) on the exchange sites increases, while base cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, K+) decrease, resulting in a lower soil pH. The amount of photosynthesis (water splitting) directly determines the availability of H+ ions (protons) in a plant. 90% of water is for cooling of photosynthetic apparatus the other 10% is split for its H+ among others things. Carbon sugars, like glucose, do oxidize in soil through a process primarily driven by microorganisms, which break down these sugars for energy. This oxidation converts the sugars into carbon dioxide (CO2) through cellular respiration, a key part of the soil carbon cycle, though some carbon may also be incorporated into soil organic matter. The rate and extent of sugar oxidation depend on factors like oxygen availability, the presence of Fe oxides, and soil redox conditions, which can all influence the process. My understanding of why we flush. Just plain water, what does it do? Strips the medium of salts and nutrients making it empty. What does that do? Triggers nutrient recycling within the plant. What's nutrient recycling? It is a natural part of plant senescence, which can be triggered once you know the switches. A 24:1 carbon-to-nitrogen ratio will also trigger. Why won't it trigger autophagy for me? Nitrogen needs to be gone, gone, gone almost. Ammoniacal (organic) nitrogen takes 4-5 times more water to separate it from soil particles than nitrates so what happens is most people jist flush the nitrates, leave all the ammoniacal in there and this prevents autophagy initiating. Nitrogen decays differently depending on its form during the dry. Ammoniacal nitrogen will oxidize in the air, leaving no trace. But nitrates do no decay and turn volatile and smelly and remain trapped until smoked, no matter how long you cure it does not oxidize. This is why you need to trigger it and begin the denitrification process prior to harvest to get rid of all the nitrates. Otherwise, you will smoke it. Flush till autophagy begins, just make sure you add no nitrogen afterwards. Micronutrients for trichomes. Don't leave the medium empty for 2 weeks, that does nothing but reduce yield 10%ish. Trichomes are another thing. Trichomes themselves are not directly affected by flushing; rather, flushing affects the plant's nutrient uptake, which influences the development and final state of the trichomes. Trichomes are filled with antioxidants in the last weeks, which is what makes them cloudy. A lot of the processing of antioxidants requires energy and nutrients (mostly micronutrients ), so you don't want that soil empty for 2 weeks, you just want the carbon nitrogen ratio 24:1and no higher. She still wants what she needs to ripen. Processing antioxidants is energy-intensive; heat and light accelerate the rate at which THC converts to CBN. This is why you lower DLI, lower temps. By doing so, you reduce the oxidative workload caused by photosynthesis, which opens up the oxidative capacity for the production of antioxidants. THC is mostly processed at night when the plant's oxidative capacity is generally moreso "free and available" for work

i decided to give my girls their first cut. i used the so called Fuck I Missed technique in which there is the possibilty to grow up to even 8 new main stems. i'm currently stil thinking if i should do this multiple times or use topping. next week i will post the results from the cuts and hopefully they are all done correctly. the plants are getting a great smell even though it is still weak.

Hello Diary. The second week of flowering is behind us. I did a little defoliation this week, I honestly didn’t dare remove more leaves and branches, I didn’t know how they would react to it. Maybe I needed more? The temperature is still high, sometimes rising to 29, 30 degrees, but mostly around 28. Humidity in the air is an average of about 55% but sometimes rises to 60%. The problem is frequent rains this summer which creates high humidity in the air and this affects the humidity in the box as well. The flowers are developing nicely, and they have started to smell as well, but let the pictures speak for themselves. The plants are big for my conditions, the 120 x 60 box size is perhaps too small for three plants (two Hulkberries and one Green Gelato), so the real jungle is in the box. It’s already a challenge to take them out every week for a photo shoot, but I try to be as careful with them as possible. The Hulkberry has reached a height of 113 cm which is on the verge of acceptability. If it continues another ten cm, I’ll be in trouble because the lights can’t lift more than this. 18/07/2020. - Day 30. Defoliation. I removed the leaves at the very bottom of the plant to make it easier for me to water them, after that I watered the plants but this time I didn’t put BioBizz, I just watered them with clean water. 21/07/2020. - Day 33. Watering. This time I gave them BioBizz, on schedule for the second week of flowering. I also added CalMag 1.5ml / L, preventively. While they don’t show they’re missing anything, I’ll keep adding CalMag. 23/07/2020. - Day 35. Photography and height measurement. Welcome to my next grow/experiment! Really excited to grow my first Mephisto Genetics! I have too many options so my girlfriend picked these seeds to grow first. I have plans to top once and hopefully be successful at making a clone to reverse. From there I’d like to maybe make some F1, and S1 seeds as well as breed it with the cultivar sharing the tent: Fastbuds Amnesia Zkittlez. This freebie seed had a slower start but they all popped! Started off germinating on Saturday 2/3 by soaking the seeds in a cup of water for 24 hours before transferring to a wet paper towel. On Tuesday 2/6 tap roots were present (one was barely coming out) and they were moved to rapid rooter plugs and put into a humidity dome. On 2/11 they had sprouted up 1.5” and were transferred to the top fed RDWC system. Filled the reservoir following General Hydroponics 10 part chart at light strength and diluted by 50%. SE7000 is ~30” above at 40% providing ~270ppfd.

Day 19 of Flower & this lady is still stretching like crazy, by the end of it she might be the tallest in the tent!! All in all I could not be happier with how things are going, Wish I had more time to stay on here & post details for all my Diary’s but life has been busy lately! During the tenth and final week of the flowering stage, the plants exhibited excellent development in both overall size and bud density. Although a reddish pigmentation was initially expected, the calyxes developed dark, almost black tones, resulting in a visually striking appearance. The RHC#1 phenotype displayed a greener foliage, with leaves beginning to show subtle reddish hues at the tips, providing an appealing contrast. The dominant aroma profile combines strong cheese-like notes with sweet, fruity undertones, which are expected to intensify during the curing process. Irrigation was carried out only during the first three days of the week, using water adjusted to a pH of 6.3. The plants were then kept in darkness for the final two days to promote the final maturation of the trichomes. At present, the flowers are undergoing a controlled drying phase, with stable humidity and temperature parameters. The cultivation process was completed without any significant issues, and the overall results are highly satisfactory, reflecting a successful execution of the growth cycle.

As this will be the last time I defoliate I took away quite a few of the leaves. Maybe a little too many as most guides reccomend not taking more then 30% of the leaves in a single defoliation

the residues of a rainy spring are revealed and after two days of light rain the girls responded differently while those in the smallest containers matured the largest exploded apart from a few small cuts of broken branches and an apex with little botrytis I differentiated disinfected and carefully selected always washing the pruning shears with simple water, the skywalker is beautifully cooked think I put some dried buds in the shed in toilet paper 5 days in the shed in the heat made it take effect !!😱 imagine when this tanning 6 months! I am happy with the results and I moved the plants to the GRILL!! top candy phase in massive quantities at the beginning of the week and also the last time I use it after a week no water. yes .. I hope to resist .. the gorilla glues are bad one is becoming almost perfect but I wish they would light up the trichomes they taste like candy my hands are a symphony of perfumes , even the lemon ak are incredible !! excellent seed I think I'll do it again indoors. compactness structure color UNIQUE flavor the ample bud of the critical orange punch is MONSTER as well as being double having pruned in preFLOW, I had the idea that the orange bud had surprised me that's how it was she's an alien goddess pure milky.😍

She grew 12cm this week. Now 27cm tall. She seems to be very bushy already. It could be a nice sign!

Start of Week 5 I have two sections of plants growing from the same feeding resivour. For the first time ever I've decided to do a mid grow flush. I ran through 1-2gal of water on each 5 gal bucket. I use only perlite as medium so I figured that I wouldn't need much to flush. It all drained back to the main resivour and I disposed of it. I ran a 24hr cycle of straight PHed tallboy filtered tap water (160ppm) and then drained that again (340ppm). I refilled the resivour with fresh nutes and PHed again (1100ppm)

8/31/2024 Both plants getting their first day of bloom spectrum lighting, red spectrum dominant. Already seeing signs of flowering on Plant A - the transition into flower must have been perfect. Otherwise, this plant might be an autoflower? DLI on canopy top around 30-32. Lights set to 70% intensity. Reduced lung room humidity to 50% target. Lots of rain lately and the dehumidifier is working hard to keep up with 60-80% outdoor humidity. Tent humidity is hanging out around 60-65% 9/2/2024 Checking over both plants and doing light defoliation of larger fan leaves. Looking for more pre-flower signs on Plant B. Small nodules appearing on plant B. slightly odd formations compared to plant A. I will be keeping a close eye on this over the next few days. Water level issues from last week are well within control. Since the fix was implemented the system requires about 2 fewer gallons to keep the system cycling as intended. Continuing to top the reservoir with fresh nutrient water with about 1 gallon of water per day. Still have not conducted a water change from the system. I will be planning one here closer to the end of this week when I have a little bit more free time at home. 9/3/2024 Plant A has a few signs of natural varieagation on fan leaves. Also found this cool leaf formation on a few of the larger fan leaves (see picture above). Plant B pre-flower signs still look odd, but monitoring closely. 9/6 Plant B still unconfirmed as a female. Preflower expressions are looking slightly more female, but no hairs yet. Both plants are looking healthy and doing well! The flow issues with the return line was due to a root mass making its way into the line and getting stuck. I was able to pump it out with some suction. Flow is completely returned and both buckets, back to stress free hydro for a few more days :D

Greetings Rastamans, as you can see my girl is getting thicker and is growing weekly. Every used fertilizers have very good results. Slowly aproaching the time of harvesting, This is evidenced by the trichomes as well as the timing of the flowering cycle. I believe that the harvest from this plant will be great. Use of the necessarry techniques at the right period of times gave me the results that you see yourselves. It is the last day of lighting. It will be in dark for 36hrs. Also today defoliation will take its place and I have already splited main stalk. hope you get enjoyment and also knowledge from my diaries. Wish you all good luck. Yours trully Rastagrow

Lampe 100% Neue Woche neues Glück 🍀 Die Damen sind in der 2.-3. Blüte Phase, der Stretch war noch voll im gange bei der #2 (sie hat nur noch Par cm. bis zur Lampe).😅 Generell ist die #1 und #3 weiter in der Blüte Entwicklung. Pk habe ich auch abgesetzt waren insgesamt 10 Tage ca. Sonst musste ich einen neuen CO2 Bag Aufhängen weil der leer war. 🏽🌱🌱 Mo: (Fotos)
