Trichomes: The Frosty Frontier This week, the focus is all about those frosty beauties! • Trichomes are the key indicators of ripeness and cannabinoid production. Watching their progression from clear to cloudy to amber provides the ultimate insight into maturity. • Currently, we’re seeing a fantastic mix of cloudy trichomes with some clear still hanging around – a perfect sign that they’re gearing up for their final push. • Fun fact: Trichomes serve as the plant’s natural defense mechanism, protecting it from UV rays and pests while being our treasure trove for cannabinoids and terpenes. Spectrum Tuning: The Science of Light Light plays a major role in shaping the maturation process, and this week, we’ve dialed in the spectrum for optimal results. Here’s the breakdown: • Whites: Running at 77% to maintain robust overall growth and trichome density. • Deep Reds, Far Reds, and UV: Maxed out at 100% to mimic the end-of-season spectrum, signaling the plants to finish strong. • Deep Reds: Enhance photosynthesis efficiency through the Emerson effect. • Far Reds: Promote stretch and flowering hormone production. • UV: Stimulates trichome production for an extra boost of frost! We’ve also added a timing twist: • Reds & UV start 15 minutes before whites to simulate sunrise. • Reds & UV finish 15 minutes after whites to mimic sunset, creating a more natural light transition. These subtle timing tricks help reduce stress while optimizing light absorption, ensuring every photon counts! 🌞 Environmental Conditions: Precision is Key Here are the dialed-in parameters for the week: • Temps: 26.3°C • RH: 70.1% • CO2: 800 ppm • VPD: 1.03 kPa With these numbers, the ladies are thriving in their sweet spot, absorbing nutrients efficiently while maximizing trichome development. Lighting Power: • Lower layer at 800 PPFD and the upper layer shining bright at 1500 PPFD. The canopy coverage is perfect for even development throughout the garden. >On the first day of this week (113rd) I cut off the upper part of the main branch since I was able to see that about 30% of the trichomes were already amber and fully developed! However, the rest of the plant still has something to develop and will be able to receive more light this way >On the last day of this week, cut 2 more branches since they were really well developed and now the rest of the plant can have more space to finish the lower and smaller branches

This was an amazing experience for my first grow. Was super unsure of what I was going to yield, but I think 27 grams is a realistic harvest and Im looking forward to see if I can get bit larger of a yield on the next run. I want to try main-lining, see for better energy distribution and more equal bud growth. Also investment into a proper reflector and possibly enclosed space. Note- I trimmed my plant the night before harvest morning. I removed than fan leaves to start, and then proceeded to trim the plant. I pulled out a lot of the leaves with no frost by hand. The sugar leaves had so much crystal on it I thought I would leave the smaller ones on the bud. I gave it a light trim, and used all the trim to make Isopropyl Alcahol (99%) based extract. Got about 1 gram from the run. I also had a nice little ball of finger charas from the trimming. I harvested it in the morning at about 04:30 am before the light cycle triggered at 7am. She hung and dried for about a week, where I then chopped her into buds. She cured for 2 weeks before i started smoking. Ask anything you want to know! Or if I can be more clear on any areas of the grow! One Love!

I think we have reached the end of another life cycle, this week I only used water to make the plant properly drain the nutrients in fact the leaves have lost all the green of the chlorophyll. now i think i will turn off the lights for 48 hours and then cut! 💪🏼🤞🏼

WOW. She’s going to easily double. I’m going to have to do some serious bending. She’s developing quite nicely but I didn’t expect her to double based on her description. Maybe I have an odd pheno? Oh well, I’ll do the best I can to control her.

This one I smoke alot b4 final weight. I really like this plant. Maybe I will grow again in future and do a sea so green.

Well I was able to LST these girls quickly and they responded very well. So new SOP is to LST and then apply Raw aloe vera juice and the plants will explode. Will be flopping them to flower very soon.

Noticed some more pink/purple stems on the plants and decided to increase the phosphorus content in the feed by mixing in half grow and half bloom from the nutrient lineup. I'd use the PK booster I have but its to high in K for my liking. The entire lineup is very high in K. mixing grow and bloom gives a NPK ratio of 7-7-14 then done 1:1 equal parts. Grow=8-4-15 Bloom=6-10-14 Boost=1-15-30 Run off was a bit high for my liking but only seeing minimal signs of nutrient burn. Still watering once with feed and runoff and then later in the week with water and no/little runoff for my watering cycle.The number in the nutrient section are wrong but the EC and ratio are correct. Also impressed the roots have started popping out the bottom of the container already after only being transplanted for a week. Good root growth on these ones. Lights doing well. The V1 spectrum is good on the medic grow mini sun-2's 240w. No issues so far, dimmed at 80% . Welcome to week six! 🌱 Week five was a complete success – all parameters are perfectly aligned. I’ve increased the water conductivity to a solid 3000 and bumped the CO2 level up to 1200 🌿. Light intensity is now set at 1400 µmol in the center and 1000 at the edges, which will keep the plants strong in their generative state 🌞. I’ll maintain these levels until the end of the third week and then start slowly removing the large fan leaves to ensure the buds get plenty of light 💡✨. I’m also trying something new to activate the “Emerson effect” 🌄: I’m running the deep red lights for 5 minutes before sunset and for another 5 minutes after the day ends. This should give the plants a final boost in photosynthesis, helping to maximize their growth potential! Everything’s looking fantastic so far! The Black Cherry has rooted well across different experimental setups, and at the end of the grow, I’ll provide a full report on the best care techniques for both strains 🌺👌.
