8/19/23 - Day 67 - Things are still looking good. We just had a water change. A couple more weeks! 8/21/23 - OK, ok ok, we have a lot of work coming up. Right now is like the calm before the storm. The storm I'm talking about is harvest, trimming, drying, and curing. This is the kind of labor that you LOVE to HATE. Especially with how many buds ill be pulling from this LEAF box. Let's talk about progress real fast. She is getting bulkier every day. Overnight she drank about 300+ ppm of nutes. She likes the nutes a lot. I'm taking this as a reason for all the little snowy crystals and the enlargement of the buds. Flushing: For about a week before harvest I will empty the water+Nutes and refill only with Water. We want the plant to suck up and replace all the nutes in the buds with water. This is called flushing. Trimming plans and Tools: When it's time to trim the plant, I've got a plan in mind. I'm going to trim the buds while they're still wet, and I'll leave them attached to the stems. To simplify the drying process, I will split the LEAF into two parts – the top and the bottom. Since space is a bit tight in the LEAF with this grow, I will keep just the buds on the branches. This will help the air circulate the buds better. I've even found this cool trimming tray on Amazon that I'm planning to use. I've realized that having the right tools for trimming is essential. Just like I'd put on gloves to work on a car, I will use nitrile gloves to keep things clean while trimming. And I'll use proper trimming scissors instead of regular ones. These scissors are designed for this job and should make the process much smoother. Amazon - Trimming Tray - (somewherr brand pictured above) Amazon - Nitrile Gloves Amazon - Trimming Scissors Drying Plans and Tools: Once I'm done trimming, it's time to dry the buds. I'm thinking of using simple tension rods, like those small shower curtain rods, to hang the branches. This way, I can create two levels inside the drying box. The lower part can rest on a SCROG net to ensure good airflow and even drying for all the branches. The LEAF box will handle the drying parameters. The environment inside the LEAF box will focus only on keeping the humidity at 60% and moving the air around getting the buds to a non-mildew amount of humidity. Amazon - Tension rods 16-28” Curing Plans and Tools After the buds are dry (60% humidity), the next step is curing. This means I'll be storing the buds in sealed glass jars. I've got mason jars and hygrometers to monitor humidity levels. Once the jars are filled with buds, I'll seal them and put them in an cool, dark spot. I plan to open the jars briefly every day to let in some fresh air. (15min). I'll know the curing is done when the humidity inside the jars stays around 62% during these "burps." That's when my perfectly cured buds will be ready to enjoy! Amazon - Hygrometer 12 Pack Target - 32oz Ball Mason Jars 12 Pack I use a smell-proof duffle bag. She went from about 900 at the beginning of the week to about 330. Now she's back up to 500ppms. We change the water in one more day. 8/24/23 - Day 72 - It's official: I have moved the smell slider up! Holy shit, does it smell potent. I put my arm in there through the Weed forest, and when my arms came out, I was attacked by the Skunk BOSS. I had to shower and change my outfit to eliminate the smell. Day 22: Hey everyone! Update on the second grow: the plants are looking very healthy and seem to be growing much faster than the first batch. 🌿 I feel like we've already done a lot better with these plants compared to the first grow. What do you all think? Any thoughts or suggestions? Day 26 (Second Grow): Hey everyone! Exciting news: the plants in our second grow have names now too! 🌿 This will make it easier to identify and keep track of each one, especially if they get moved around. It should also help you all follow along more easily with the pictures we post. We've built a SCROG (Screen of Green) net for the plants in both grows. For those who don’t know, a SCROG net helps to train the plants to grow horizontally, which maximizes light exposure to all parts of the plant and promotes more even growth. We're using it to ensure all plants get plenty of light and develop a uniform canopy. Additionally, we've placed a hygrometer among the plants to measure the humidity between the leaves. We've noticed that the humidity sometimes exceeds 70% in those areas. We're considering whether we need more fans, an intake ventilation system, or if a dehumidifier would be a better option. We're leaning towards adding more fans to improve air circulation, but we'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to watch both grows progress!

Day 21 After yesterday’s emergency bare root transplant out of biosolids, things are looking like there’s a glimmer of hope... They got topped and pruned yesterday. a little earlier than I would have liked, but it made sense. Day 23 Transplanted again down to 2 gallon pots to make room for another round I started. I decided to cut the fan leaves, too. These have been pruned and topped down to nothing but the emerging foilage from the 3rd and 4th nodes. My thinking is that the root system is so compromised that the less foliage they have to feed, the better. Fed some General Organics Bio Root 0-1-1 to promote root growth. Light mnist of pH’d water for foilar feeding. Day 25 I think the Bio Root and the shade is doing them good 🤞Time will tell. If these come back strong, I’ll move them into 15 gallon living soil bags.

A great replacement strain from Barney's. If you can't find the old exodus UK cheese which is almost impossible these days, this variant gives you everything you want. Flowering day 21 since time change to 12/12 h. Hey everyone 😃. Both phenotypes are developing very well 😊. The buds are starting to develop, so I have now added 2.5 g per liter of GHSC Powder Feeding bio Bloom substrate. This week it was watered twice with 1.1 l per plant each time. ------------------------ HARVEST 1: ------------------------ Harvested this girl because she stopped eating and was drinking less water, and the weird flowers, so she was finishing, and im looking for something psycoactive, so the trichs are cloudy too... I expected less flowers, but there are some material behind leaves. The smoke is really nice flavored, and it hits you with psychoactivity. Despite the production and weird buds it is really tasty and gets you in a really nice sativa mood. The flavor would be like: An apple with Gasoline touches (i suppose its because of the Sour Diesel heritage) 15 gr. ------------------------ HARVEST 2: ------------------------ This plant was harvested in the optimal point to me, with cloudy trichs and a nice production. She really added weigth in the last weeks. The smell is really like the original Lemon, has deep citrous notes. Taste is very good, more powerful than the smell(Will complete this in a couple months when properly cured in jars). I like the psychoactivity, its a nice day smoke, and a tasty one. Overall a very good plant, i love the therpene profile (citrous/fruity), it is so refreshing when you smell the citrous flavour. 90 gr.

May 13th - Day 86: I flipped to flower last Friday, May 10th (3 days ago on Day 83), but the plants received their first bath today. Humidity levels were brought down to a maximum of 61%, and temperatures to a maximum of 28°C (though they reach 33°C when the lights are on, and I can't seem to lower them further). I added a third cycle to the watering automation system, so the plants are now being watered three times a day for one minute each. I defoliated the plants quite heavily as I wasn't able to reach the desired humidity level. I will be gone for a week, maybe even two. Let's see how the babies grow. May 17th - Day 90: I came back today to a disaster. The automated watering system failed for four days, and the dehumidifier kept running, bringing humidity down to 35%, likely resulting in the loss of more than one plant. I'm so disappointed in myself but still keeping my hopes up. I watered everything heavily, trimmed the crispy leaves, sprayed the leaves with pH 6.5 water, and increased the humidity levels in the tent. Will update tomorrow. May 18th - Day 91: Unbelievable. Most of the plants recovered as if nothing happened. Two of them might be dead, but I still have hope. Let's see.

Finally back to it!

With the new netting up, I switched on the red lights along with the blues to help the plants stretch a bit to reach through the screen. It looks like it is taking effect, so late in the week (Friday) I trimmed some of the lower branches. Last week I FIMmed Zoe and Grace to give River a chance to catch up, and I expected 1 of 2 results: 1) FiMming will encourage growth in the cut plants causing them to grow taler than River, or 2) Things will stabilize and River will be on par with her siblings. But instead, I discovered a 3rd result: River is continuing to grow bigger and thicker each day and is even taller and fuller than her sisters. In addition though, the trimmed plants are developing nice, strong, sizable leaves, and most of the new growth is coming from down below, rather than near the top. Oh, and this week I added a new camera (Wyze) to the time lapses so I can take my pro camera out.

I'm happy with the wet weight given it was 2 plants 11 inches in height when I started, the smells the colors the yield this was an easy and beautiful process

Did some ballsy defoliation yesterday, but the girls seem to be rebounding well... Not sure if I stunted the northern lights plant or if she's just genetically shorter and bushier. I find myself popping my head in the tent to check on them enough that my husband walked by and said "I wish you loved me as much as you love your plants" 12/23 update. Unsure what my leaves are trying to tell me. Soil felt a little dry so I took the opportunity for a pH balanced fairly heavy watering, no nutrients this feed. Maybe a salt build up since I've been giving light nutes with every feed? Last flush earlier this week with solid pH on the runoff, so maybe not. Maybe just too much nutrients in general. I'll back off for a bit and see how she does. 12/26 update: lemon auto is getting light burned AF. Wound up rearranging the light situation to take her farther away from the light, but still within it to get enough light for some (hopefully) dense buds. I think a bigger tent is in my future. Feeding every other, otherwise getting pH balanced water
