Theobroma Cacao. New seedling that needs the warmth + humidity. Hopefully surviving winter. Day46: I decided to take some zoomed in stills of her. To show off her beauty. The purpling of the branches really make this lady something special. In some of the shots it might look like her leaves are yellowing, but it's just the angle of the light. You can see on the photo that I took from the top, that all leaves are a healthy dark green. At least I now have proof that she's a lady. She's short and stubby, but I'm not really growing for amount. I just neeed 50g, after all (hehe) Day47: She grew like a demon overnight. I'll check the height tomorrow.

The Apple Betty babies are doing great 😊 I’m very pleased with the results so far, I just wished I would have known they would have such a large stretch, they D almost doubled in size in 14 days. At day 8 I stopped tucking the branches and allowed them to grow up. In hindsight, I probably should have kept going for another couple of days. They continued to stretch rapidly all the way up to date 12 or so, much more than my other strain that I have going as well. At day 10 I cleaned up some of the small bud sites and leaves that were below the 1st trellis. These sites do not get enough light to make anything good, and take away energy from the main tops as they grow and compete. A quick snip here and there will really help the end result. At day 13 I decided to add a second trellis net to provide support to the tops that came up so fast. They seem to have stopped their main stretch faze, and are looking happy and healthy now. I’ve continued my water, water, feed schedule and have not seen any cause for concern. The girls are taking a little over a gallon of water every 72 hours at this point. Humidity is being controlled automatically with my in-line fan and humidifier. RH is set to 57% and temps hover between 77-80 degrees with lights on, and about 70-72 with light off thanks to my furnace being back on for the cooler temps. The 2x4 5 gallon girl is doing great as well. 😊During the stretch, she flourished just as the girls in my big tent did as well. She is going to have some great bud, the branch structure is nicely developed with tight node spacing and large tops. I’ve been plucking off all the lower growth, and tucking leaves as they block bud sites. I will be doing a defoliation next week. Happy Gardening 🇨🇦👊❤️

Humidity this week has still been high, but luckily the dehumidifier was set up last night so hopefully within the next couple days it will be regulated. I LST’d more this week to just try and contain the buds from getting burnt. Clearly I underestimated the size of the tent and should have went bigger. Also defoliated a few of the base leaves and buds as per member comment. They seemed to have taken the stress just fine.

Leaving nuets as they are as this will drop pot EC. Setting the alarm for the AM before lights out at 7:30 and changing the sched to 6AM-6PM summer is done no need for current schedule. Defoliated this week and it feels way better – canopy is opened up nicely with better airflow and light penetration. The plants are really starting to stack and the white pistils are everywhere now. Nectar and Something Good are my favorites right now, both looking super strong and full. Rainbow Melon is doing okay, just semi nice compared to the other two. Overall everything is healthy, the stretch settled well, and the setup is handling it smooth. Excited to see how they bulk up from here.

week 3, at day 21 I started to defoliate. needs more airflow around colas. This is the start of defol, will clean and prune as needed next week. Stretching has slowed and colas are starting to stack. Ran a sort of modified manafold into the scrog. "V" on the left has 15 tops from 4 main stalks, she was topped to 4th node early on. "Blue nemo" was topped to the 3rd node early, she has 18 tops after the week 3 prune of the week lowers who couldnt make it up to the canopy. I left some popcorn buds down low that have began to develop, will throw these in the ice water hash after harvest.

12/2/2024 - Starting this post a little early since it doesn't start until tomorrow. That said, two of the three plants are in flower while the Mystery Seed remains in Veg. I would expect it to transition and stretch over the next day or two. The other two plants (Granite Runtz & Frosted Cherry O's) are growing/stretching rapidly easily putting on 1-3 inches of growth per day. I have decided to top dress throughout flower with Gaia Green Power Bloom. I'm just a little leary of the Grow Dots fizzling out towards the end so I'm going to use a slow release organic to top dress with high in Phosphorous. These plants couldn't look any better and now my focus will turn to caring for all the bud sites and making sure each nug gets plump and dense and as big as it can get. I'm banking on a 1lb crop total from these three plants. 12/3/2024 - Ok we're into week 6 now and two of the plants are well into flower and the Mystery Seed is showing pre-flower now and is stretching out. I expect it to catch up with the other two in the next few days. Everything is going extremely well and I couldn't be happier. This morning I fed all three plants with Recharge and Silica along with 2 liters of water PH'd to 6.5. I think watering is going to increase a bit still from here but I'm paying very close attention to moisture in the soil. I've got PPFD readings up near 850-900 across the canopy and with the addition of side lights I'm hoping that I can get some deeper penetration to some of the lower branches. I continue to build out my toolkit for future grows. 12/4/2024 - Probably my last post for this week unless something spectacular happens. Everything is going very well though I found a few rust spots on one leaf which I removed from the Frosted Cherry O's...nothing I'm too concerned about at this point. Overall things are going extremely well and the plants are growing beyond my expectations. Looking forward to the coming weeks as the buds start to develop.

Thank you for reading! By the end of last week I finally had the light up to 100% power. I noticed a bit of curling on my one plant afterwards but I need to soldier on with it all the way up as the other plants are eating it up and loving it. I guess this isn't a true scrog, but I will continue to weave the buds and stems in and out of the net to try and keep as even of canopy as possible. I continue to remove lower offshoots to the nodes and I am really trying to focus just on sites that are getting enough light to make a decent nug. The tent is filling out nicely and I am loving it! If I touch the flowers to bend them under the scrog, my fingers STINK like a beautiful fruit. I can't wait to try this out and I am getting excited. I will continue to use the same nutrient solution mix for this week. As of 17 Nov I am starting to water 2x daily using the formula for 3part GHE listed in the picture above. After 12 hours I can see the 3 gal containers are pretty much dry from the last daily watering. Up to now I was watering everyday once (to runoff 2x a week to flush any of the excess salts away and allow my roots to stretch out a bit). Now that the roots have reached the bottom of the smartpots and fully sticking through, I am going to be watering to runoff at least 5x a week to make sure nothing is building up too much in the later flower weeks. ~ FASTBUDS TESTER #2203 ~ Well friends, here we go on another 'canna-venture' together! The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This tester strain is one of six tester strains that FastBuds has graciously provided me with and I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! One drawback of 'testers' is I have little to no information on it other than its number and that it's an autoflower... 🤪 But, it's ALWAYS a blast growing them for me because not knowing a lot allows me to just concentrate on the essentials: Light, Environment, Water, Nutrients and possibly a bit of LST... not complicated, just basics like keeping a constant temperature and RH in the tent at a level that gives a good VPD, watering when almost dry and maintaining proper light levels according to their stage of growth. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ~THE SETUP~ ~Initially seeds were lightly scuffed, then soaked for 3 hours in 78℉ distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Mars Hydro Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78℉ where they stayed until their tap roots emerged. ~Planted into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78℉ with a 7.0 ph. ~Once roots emerge from the Jiffy Pellet they're transferred to their fabric pots. ~Grown 100% organic in a 4g Gronest fabric pot and a 3g fabric pot by Wraxly filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and initially amended with Dr. Earth 4-4-4 / Earthworm Castings / Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 and Coast of Maine Stonington Blend Organic Plant Food 5-2-4. ~19/5 light cycle for the entire run with supplemental UVA added during flower. Lights are controlled by a Trolmaster Hydro X controller set for a 15min Sunrise/Sunset simulation. ~Top dressing every 3-4 weeks with slow release dry amendments and Earthworm castings. ~Straight water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8 when needed and bi-weekly Compost Tea's. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 12/1- I soaked both seeds for 3 hours in 78℉ distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Vivosun Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78℉ where they stayed until their tap roots emerged roughly 24 hours later. 12/3- Today their tap roots were about 1/4 to 3/8" so at 11 am I transferred them into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78℉ with a 7.0 ph using a tine off of a plastic fork as a 'mini trowel' to make a hole in the pellet and to gently cover the tap root, leaving only the seed head slightly exposed. This method accomplishes most of the initial work the seed has to do by eliminating having to orientate itself, push it's root down and head up. By 10pm the #1 seed had her cotyledon leaves opened ...waiting on the #2. 🧐 12/5- Well this is Day ONE for the #1 FBT #2203 and I anticipate seeing her sister poking her head out real soon! I'll keep them in the covered/heated Jiffy tray until I see their roots beginning to emerge from the peat pellet, then I'll transfer them gently into their respective fabric pots. The #1 will be going into the 4g Gronest pot from FastBuds and the #2 will reside in a 3g pot by Wraxly, which I'm trying out for the first time. 12/7- Yesterday I checked the #1 tester and she had roots starting to emerge from her pellet so tomorrow I'll transfer her into her 4g Gronest pot. The #2 tester has finally made an appearance and this will be Day One for her! 1/21: I rotated the edge plants and foliar fed with big bloom a few times today. 1/22: I fed them about 3/4 gallon each after top-dressing their pots with a heaping tablespoon of happy frog cavern culture( bat and seabird guano). That will make some P and K available to them over the next 2 weeks as they begin to flower. Aside from that, I went with full strength veg nutes because I'm still seeing some yellowing and som cal-mag deficiencies. I also added some more liquid molasses. They're gonna need the energy as they start their stretch. I foliar fed a few times throughout the day with big bloom. 1/23: EXPLOSIVE GROWTH last night...love it...everybody is stretching...pretty sure the 14/10 photoperiod is working!! I foliar fed with big bloom a few times today. 1/24: These are the puniest plants so far, but they are starting to show me some lateral growth. 1/25: I watered each of them with a half-gallon including bembe, cal-mag, signal, armor si, and humic acid. 1/26: Flowering! 1/27: That's it for week 5-
