1/12: lots more leaf tucking today. She's taking waterings like a champ. I'm always so worried about overwatering but she seems to be growing well 1/14: did a little more lst, so she's looking a little bit like an ugly duckling. Hoping the effort plays out. Attempted to adjust some clips and accidentally broke a stem. I splinted that up with some tape... Also my attempt at a fim is growing out... She's looking a little rough right now, but honestly, aren't we all? 1/15: watered and some leaf tucking this morning. Excited for the top to not look like a hot mess! 1/17: the ugly duckling phase is strong with this one. Gave her a good watering today and attempted some leaf tucking, only sacrificing one fan leaf.

Week 6 of flower, the buds are fattening up and triching out. The terps are super sweet and very potent smelling. I haven't seen very many nanners or balls lately, but I have seen them popping through the buds occasionally. I still inspect daily, but some days I don't find any, so I hope it won't give me too many seeds. I did notice that the bud that gets the most intense light has started having tips pointed upwards and flipping its leaves. I attributed this to heat stress, so I moved that light over bit. Day 38 update: this last week I was only watering with distilled water and the yellowing has progressed, so I assume I was right about the nitrogen deficiency noted a couple weeks back. Today I top-fed with a homemade fast acting high nitrogen organic fertilizer, we will see if this helps. Also nothing in my current flowering feeding regime has a lot of nitrogen, so I think this will likely solve the problems. I have also decided to give them an extra 15 minutes darkness for a total of 13.25 hours darkness, 7.5 minutes extra on each end, tell them its almost time to finish with ~4 weeks left. Day 40 update: still been pulling herm balls and nanners off the big one, the others seem to have stopped, but i still check them daily. Gonna be slightly seeded for sure, but I hope not too much. Also, the yellowing seems to have been managed after that nitrogen feed.

Diesel: I’m very happy with the growth! The topping + LST is showing its results, flowering is exploding, and the buds are developing in a healthy way, already giving me great satisfaction. Compared to the other two, it almost seems about one week ahead. The plant has a large and very healthy leaf mass, but for now I’m being cautious with defoliation because I don’t want to stress the plant too much. Wedding Cake: Even though it germinated together with the Diesel, flowering is much further behind. However, just like with the Diesel, the topping + LST is showing good flowering results. As with the Diesel, the leaf mass is very dense, although in the last few days some leaves have shown signs of stress. I need to understand what caused it. For now, I’ve only removed the unhealthy leaves, much more than on the Diesel, and I’m worried this might be why flowering is further behind compared to the other plant. Sunset Sherbet: Even though it germinated one week later, in terms of growth stage it has now caught up with the Wedding Cake, including the flowering phase. Here you can notice that the FIMing caused some issues; in fact, there are far fewer bud sites compared to the other two plants, and it developed more vertically. However, this also resulted in less foliage, making it much easier to manage compared to the others. Unfortunately, during LST, one central branch was damaged and had to be removed. As with the Wedding Cake, some strange spots have also appeared on the leaves, although they are less widespread. Let’s see how it goes! For now, everything seems to be giving off great vibes for a good harvest!!😁😁

Which means airflow and internal light penetration become critical early. And that’s exactly why this week mattered. ⸻ 🍃 The Defoliation — Not Aesthetic. Architectural. This was not cosmetic trimming. It was: • Removing large fan leaves blocking interior bud sites • Cleaning inner congestion • Opening airflow channels • Resetting light distribution across the canopy • Helping the entire room environment (not just this plant) The room needed air — this plant was advanced enough to handle stress. That’s key. Week 3 of flower is the transition window: • Stretch is slowing • Bud sites are set • Energy shifts toward stacking At this stage, a strategic defoliation: • Improves transpiration efficiency • Reduces microclimate humidity pockets • Prevents internal leaf-to-leaf condensation • Encourages bud site activation below the top canopy This was structural architecture. Not haircut vanity. ⸻ 🌡️ 28°C in Flower — “Too Hot?” Let’s Go Deep. People panic when they hear 28°C in flower. But here’s where most growers confuse: 🔥 HPS vs LED Heat Behavior Under HPS: • Radiant heat warms leaf surfaces directly • Leaf temperature often equals or exceeds room temp • 28°C air under HPS can mean 30–32°C leaf temp • That pushes VPD dangerously high Under LED: • Less infrared radiation • Leaf surface temp is typically 1–3°C LOWER than room temp • So at 28°C room temp, leaf temp might be 25–26°C And VPD calculations depend on leaf temperature, not air temperature. ⸻ 🌿 What Is Leaf VPD? VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) measures the difference between: • Moisture inside the leaf • Moisture in the surrounding air But if you calculate VPD using only room temp, you’re missing the real transpiration dynamics. With: • 28°C air • ~25–26°C leaf surface (LED) • 65% RH Leaf VPD sits in a very workable mid-flower zone. Not extreme. Not stress-inducing. Not shutdown territory. We’re driving metabolism, not cooking terpenes. ⸻ 💧 Why 65% RH Isn’t Dangerous Here Context matters: • Good airflow • Opened canopy • Compact but cleaned structure • Early-mid flower (Week 3, not Week 7) At this stage: • Pistils are forming • Bud density is still moderate • Transpiration is active High humidity becomes dangerous when: • Bud mass is dense • Internal airflow is poor • Late flower resin traps moisture We’re not there yet. And we just improved airflow with defoliation. ⸻ ⚡ EC 2.9 — Aggressive but Intentional That EC is strong. Did a light defol on 1. Gonna let the other just go until day 21 of flower. But yeah, these babies been a little struggle. But they’re drying out from their first real pot soaking feed. Another day or 2 and we’re gonna flip! Let’s gooooo!

So letzte Woche wurden die Ladys nur noch mit Wasser gegossen, diese Woche auch und dann geht’s zum trockenen 🥦✌️

Day 35 is here. We are a week into flower and most the plants are just starting to hit that flowering stretch. I have been bending them down a little every couple days, but I need to focus on cleaning up some of the bottom branches so we can keep good air flow through the plants. Will work on that through this next week. I haven't done a water change, just been topping off the reservoir with fresh nutrients as they drink it up. Feeding half and half maxigro and maxibloom. Will cut out the maxigro in a couple weeks when I notice their stretch slowing down. I had a plant overflow this week because the drain line is getting full of roots. I noticed a couple roots have made their way into the reservoir already. I set a pump timer to 1 minute on and 20 minutes off so they can drain properly. I would like to make it through the grow without having to mess with the drains, but we will see what happens. I will make some modifications if needed. Other than that everything is running smooth and I hope we have some little pistils to show by next week. Thanks for stopping by ✌️

Grew genetically similar for a while, one is going long the other going wide. The one treated with magic sauce is growing rapidly vertically even though the umol range is well within the flowering range. (No need to stretch).

Week 17, and my garden is blowing my mind! It's like a botanical fireworks show out there. The buds are popping up like they're trying to outshine the sun. I'm so happy I'm doing the leafy dance of joy every time I check on them. I can't believe how beautiful everything is – it's like my garden is showing off just for me. I feel like a proud plant parent, watching my green babies grow up so fast. Here's to Week 17 – a week of beauty, happiness, and the joy of watching nature do its thing.
