week intel: its time to harvest top buds! because my base nutrients and one of boosters was salt based, i'll do flushing this week to get some relieve to plants in the last days stresses : flushing Drought stress via watering only one time with flushing this week feeding: day 1 : i flushed them with Advanced Nutrients Flawless finish and adjusted ph day 3 : no more feeding from now on day 5 : no more feeding from now on guide of the week : i harvest in 2 parts : first i harvest top of the branches and will let the lower buds to ripe another week then ill harvest the second wave. its crucial to get uniformed buds in terms of quality that you let the lower buds to get some extra air and especially light! then the pop corn buds quality will reach the top buds. my dry and cure style is this: 3 days of hanging upside down to get water activity lower to around 0.6 in 50% humidity and 26 C temp (i know its a little high but we are in a hot summer right now and i cant get it lower even with air conditioner) and then after 3 days of drying i remove leaves and stalks, trim buds and move them to jar for the rest of their life :D . and in the first 4 days of curing i open the jar door and let hem get some fresh air in the jar for about 5 minutes and close the jar door again, after 4 days of curing like that buds are smokable but they will get better as they getting cured about 1 month. im happy as hell with this harvest :D.

Not a lot of grow photos this week since we were camping two days' into the backwoods at Temagemi this week :) I have added a video garden tours so you can see what's up this week. The fight against powdery mildew is real. But harvest time is here just in the nick of time!

Flowering looks awesome on the ChemDog! Lots of bud sites and they're growing at a respectable rate. ATF's are running 3 plants in 3 diff stages- one's a couple weeks into flower, one's just starting,and one's still the holdout. Meanwhile, I've got flowering on the Night Nurse and one of the Viper Cookies. The rest are close but I can't say for sure they've transitioned. Weather's getting into a hot and humid phase, gotta watch that ChemDog. Think it's got a decent structure for ventilation but I've read horror stories on how the Dog loves mold. Further training of the branches has been fruitful, I'm seeing a lot more topside bud sites than usual. I'm working on irrigation-- I set up a 30 gal container and it works for drip, but without a pipe system it's still one at a time, although I have to admit it's worth it to save my back. Plus, I have to have a supply ready for use in case my buddy needs to fill in for me and water the ladies. Been checking the cameras regularly ( I have them all throughout the property, game cameras with IR flash), and to date haven't seen anything that would constitute a threat. Just some curious raccoons and one really ugly opossum. Even the skunks don't bother them this year, which is nice but a little strange considering they dig in them every year. It's really just the animals I'm watching for, people aren't as much of a concern. Mostly because I don't know any. Aside from that, I sleep with my head feet away from my babies, so somebody would have to have big brass ones to even try. Yes, I know, a little overprotective. Fingers crossed it'll be one hell of a harvest (by my standards). 8/11 Update: Been lucky still with the weather, but it's turning really humid. Fed the girls this morning, a mix of 1C molasses and 1/2C epsom salt in 20 gallons. Just a little supplement to the tiger bloom they've been feasting on. Speaking of the Tiger Bloom, I can't help but think I'd do just as well mixing my own nutrient solution, since the cost really adds up quick. For his year, however, it'll be fine. My watering gizmo is working well, just leaks a tiny bit and that's fine for the remainder of the year. Now that I have an idea of what works for me I can spend the off-season setting up something right. Had to thin out the Lamb's a bit, it wasn't getting anywhere near enough air flow. Also took a few on the ChemDog as I'm expecting mold/rot conditions for a while and she's prone. Shouldn't have much problem, wind blows almost constantly here, but you can never be too careful. Training is taking well, overall they look pretty good. Next year-- bigger grow bags, better soil, and much pickier seed choices. I think I may even abandon the idea of topping them in the future-- it just slows them down and you can get the same end results with training. Granted, my ladies are kinda sparse and ugly, but that's the learning curve. Next time around I think I have a pretty good idea of what to do and when to do it, based on what worked and didn't work this year. Another big thing is nutrient timing-- I def jumped the gun on flower power for a few of them and it just stunted them wicked-- shoulda continued veg food a couple weeks into flower even for the early bloomer, she'd be a monster.

The end of the fourth week. Only 2,5 to 3 weeks to go, since this is the FAST version of Gelato 33 by Advanced seeds. Last week temps were better, so that was a lot better to manage. The smell is a different story. We are trying to combat it as we speak with a double filter which my friend still had from a previous grow. The ladies are performing, however, because this is a monstercrop with many budsites, none of them will be very big. We anticipate a lot of cutting come harvest time. The stickieness and smell (cookies, dough, herbs, spices, gingerbread, vanilla) promise a lot to make up for that hopefully!! The middle plant that seemed to go fastest, now looks like to have the hardest time flowering. Her more advanced stage of flowering as a bigger clone, made it harder for her to return to veg, which she never really did. This seems to make her want to rush to the finish, as she is already browning the pistils. Also these buds seem more flakey, popcorny. As if the many flowers and grapelike bundled growth was too much for her. I put the light a little closer, to help her fatten up in the time she is given. I never expected the two 'runts' to outperform the mighty middle clone, but hey seem to fatten up and age much more nicely. So for now, prelimenary tip: make sure all your plants are completely revegged before flowering and consider that faster flowering species might have some ruderalis ancestry that might siderail all your lighting intentions and remains in flower what ever the growers lighting schedule. So with at least two more weeks for the two outer plants, and well see how many for the middle one, we are going to make them as comfortable as possible the final push of this flowering. The one that survived was only inside a 2 litre, unfortunately, so didn't produce no where near as bud as I would've liked to. It's definitely not stable from 2/3 hermies, no issues with the other strains I had going alongside these.

So the cbg pretty much didn't make it all 3 tries. There Is still a little bit on one plant of the cbg in pictures. I doubt it makes it. So I stuffed the air tube thru it a week ago, and I stuck a home brewed sour diesel from oasis seeds, with north lights from seedsman both autoflowers. So far its growing, but slow. It should continue. I just set ph, and a light nutrition feed after that. She is propped up to allow the straw access to air on both ends. I forget in these little potters that extra air helps a ton. Is likely why I did not have any luck with the CBG. I will get it again when I win some seeds. She is under the Mars hydro FC4800 light. So far its alive. I finally found the time to transplant the Bubblegum ladies to the flowering tent. The seeds were planted on the 13th of Januari, all the seedlings have been topped on february 2nd and transplanted today. They will remain under the 18-6 schedule for the oncoming days.

•Seconda settimana• Ciao ragazzi !! Dopo i primi 15 giorni di vita (totali) le piante presentano una bellissima cera, sinonimo di irrigazione e nutrimenti corretti (nonostante il PH fosse alto). Ricordo che mantenere livelli ottimali di umidità, temperatura e PH mette la pianta in condizioni perfette per poter aumentare il rendimento finale.

Día 22. El estirón ha frenado. Las plantas están empezando a llenarse de flores. Se me hace extraño tener las plantas con esta forma, dado que siempre he usado cortes y LST. Se ven bastante bien, aunque cada vez que las miro, me dan ganas de cortarle alguna otra rama. Pero no quisiera mermar el rendimiento. Ya a esta altura sería más.contraproducente que otra cosa. Pero creo que debí haber sacado más ramas de las que saqué. Día 24. Fui un iluso al pensar que el crecimiento había frenado. Hoy ya las plantas tienen 5 cm más que hace dos días. Voy a tener que doblarlas si siguen a este ritmo. Tuve que hacer un video, ya que no tengo lugar para sacar fotos en contra picado. Veo que se están llenando de flores y empiezo a imaginar el resultado final. Día 26. Las plantas crecieron otros 5 cm en estos dos días. Ya estan 65 cm. Me empieza a preocupar, por lo que supongo que voy a tener que doblarlas un poco. Seguramente solamente doble las dos mas altas cruzadas entre si. Vengo ilusionado, pero sospecho que van a ser necesarias entre 7 y 8 semanas. Tuve que agregar solución, ya que había bajado mucho el nivel del depósito, y agregué un poco de bud blood. Voy a seguir usándolo hasta el momento del PK. Seguiré actualizando.
