Bonjour a toutes et tous (cette semaine j ai eu un petit soucis sur une melon gum (bud rot) alors que je ne dépasse jamais 50% d humidité mais je pense le problème viens d autre part (les têtes ont triplé de taille en une semaine et vue qu'elles sont en contact c est pas top pour la circulation d air j ai donc enlevé les 2 têtes et désinfecté comme il le faut , j ai également monté un gros ventilateurs en plus ) Autrement tous ce passe plutôt bien d ici fin de la semaine on passera au flusch voilà voilà les amis j ai enfin trouver la force et le temp de sortir les plantes de la tante (hors mis les 2 plus grande melon gum / et cherry cookie) mais promis je les sortirais très vite.

Putting on weight fast now in peak flower. Love the structure of the plant and really regretting not taking a cutting. Oh well, ce la vie. Will stop adding PK in the next few days before cutting back on nutrients next week then flushing for the last 2 weeks. This plant is at the back of the timelapse.

🍃 Purple Haze Photo A — Week 4 | Preparing for Gravity-Fed Growth Every grow has one plant that quietly starts telling you a story before flowering even begins. Purple Haze A is becoming exactly that. Growing under the same Future of Grow LED, receiving the same PPFD, sharing the exact nutrient recipe, environmental conditions and care as every other plant inside the tent, she has decided to express herself in a completely different way. Instead of remaining compact, she has embraced her sativa heritage and is already showing the elegant structure Purple Haze is famous for. Longer internodes. Large healthy fan leaves. Fast vertical growth. Strong side branching. Exactly the characteristics we hoped to see. This diary is part of my ongoing 12/12 From Seed Challenge, documenting every step exactly as it happens. No shortcuts, no hidden techniques—just honest observations from a home grower enjoying the journey one day at a time. ⸻ 🌱 Week 4 Development This week was all about preparing for the next big milestone. Purple Haze continued building an exceptionally strong root system while producing vigorous new shoots across every node. The leaves are deep green, beautifully flat and reaching toward the light, showing excellent nutrient uptake and a very healthy metabolism. Stem thickness has increased noticeably, giving plenty of confidence that she’ll easily support future flower production. The spacing between branches also makes her an excellent candidate for training later, allowing light to penetrate naturally through the canopy. Sometimes you can already tell a plant has personality long before flowers appear. This one certainly does. ⸻ 🚿 Time for AutoPot This week also marks another exciting step. Purple Haze A will soon become one of the plants running on my AutoPot system. Since every plant in this project receives identical lighting, nutrients and environmental conditions, this creates a great opportunity to observe one important variable: Top watering versus gravity-fed irrigation. Rather than trying to prove one method is universally better, I simply enjoy comparing different growing styles under the same conditions and documenting the results honestly. That is one of the things I love most about this hobby. Every grow teaches something new. ⸻ 💧 What is an AutoPot? For anyone discovering these diaries for the first time, AutoPots are a completely passive irrigation system. There are: ❌ No pumps ❌ No electricity ❌ No timers Instead, everything works using gravity. A nutrient reservoir sits slightly higher than the pots, allowing the solution to flow naturally through the tubing. Inside each tray sits the heart of the system: The AquaValve The AquaValve is an ingenious little mechanical valve. When the tray becomes empty, the valve opens and allows fresh nutrient solution to flow in. Once the tray reaches the correct water level, the valve automatically closes. The plant then drinks exactly what it wants. Only after the tray is empty again does the cycle repeat. Because the substrate experiences a natural wet-dry rhythm while always having nutrients available when needed, roots tend to develop extremely well. Healthy roots often translate into healthier plants. At least, that has been my experience. ⸻ 🌿 Why I Enjoy Growing with AutoPots Every grower eventually finds methods that simply fit their style. For me, AutoPots offer several advantages: • Consistent moisture around the root zone • Reduced daily watering workload • Excellent oxygen availability inside the substrate • Stable nutrient delivery • Very vigorous vegetative growth Perhaps most importantly… They let me spend more time observing the plants instead of carrying watering cans every day. And honestly, watching the AquaValve quietly doing its job never gets old. ⸻ 📊 Week 4 Environment • Week 4 — Vegetation • Height: 25 cm • EC: 1.35 • pH: 6.1 • Temperature: 33°C Day / 25°C Night • RH: 63% • CO₂: 639 ppm • Light Schedule: 12/12 • Water consumption: approximately 1.1 L per plant every 24 hours ⸻ 🌿 Feeding Schedule This week the nutrition remained simple and balanced using the Plagron Terra line. • Terra Grow – 1.8 ml/L • Power Roots – 1 ml/L • Pure Zym – 1 ml/L • Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L • pH Plus – 0.03 ml/L • Lemon Kick – 0.03 ml/L The plant responded beautifully with rich green foliage, vigorous growth and absolutely no signs of nutrient stress. Exactly the kind of consistency every grower hopes for. ⸻ 💚 Final Thoughts Week 4 feels like the beginning of something special for Purple Haze A. She has developed into a vigorous, healthy young plant with beautiful structure, outstanding leaf health and plenty of energy heading toward the flowering stretch. Now the AutoPot system enters the picture, adding another interesting chapter to this diary. Whether gravity feeding produces bigger plants or simply makes life easier, we’ll discover together over the coming weeks. That’s the beauty of documenting everything honestly. Hi guys. We started flowering with the first week! I am very excited! Plants seem to me to be healthy and grow. With Advanced Nutrient fertilizers it is very important to regulate and control the electrical conductivity of the solution. Next week I will give you more information. I put a net in order to divide the light and give a support in flowering. We'll see!

Final Results & Conclusions – Harvest, Drying & Curing The grow is finally complete, and it’s time to look at the results. The main goal of this experiment was to compare natural growth vs LST on autoflowering plants, while also documenting two different trimming/drying approaches. Final Dry Weight Sour Jealousy Auto * LST: 44.9 g * Natural: 62.9 g Banana Purple Punch Auto * LST: 36.1 g * Natural: 51.6 g The results were surprisingly consistent across both strains. The naturally grown plants produced approximately 41% more flower than the LST plants on average, or, looking at it from the other direction, the LST plants produced around 29% less than their naturally grown counterparts. This suggests that, at least in this small experiment, LST did not provide a yield advantage with these autoflowers. In fact, the naturally grown plants produced considerably more. However, there are some important limitations. The sample size is extremely small, with only two plants per growing method. Individual phenotype and environmental variation can therefore have a significant impact on the results. There was also an important difference in pot size: the naturally grown Sour Jealousy was grown in an 18 L pot, while the other three plants were grown in 14 L pots. From this grow, combined with my experience from previous years, I continue to see a relationship between available root space and overall plant development: more substrate seems to give the plant more room to develop. The biggest advantage of LST was not yield, but plant structure and height control. The trained plants remained much shorter and more compact, making them considerably less conspicuous than the naturally grown plants. Drying Comparison I also experimented with two different trimming approaches. The two LST plants were wet trimmed, while the two naturally grown plants were dry trimmed. Throughout drying, I tried to maintain humidity between 55–65%. Temperature was unfortunately higher than ideal, staying around 26–28°C, as I didn’t have equipment to control it. Despite the less-than-ideal temperature, the aromas coming from both groups are very promising. At this stage, both drying methods have produced flowers with excellent fragrances. However, this comparison has an important limitation: because the LST plants were wet trimmed and the natural plants were dry trimmed, the two variables cannot be completely separated. Any differences in the final aroma or quality cannot be attributed exclusively to the drying method. For that reason, I’ll wait until the curing process is further along before making any conclusions. Final Thoughts This experiment gave me some interesting empirical evidence about LST on autoflowers. For my setup, natural growth clearly outperformed LST in terms of final weight, while LST offered a clear advantage in terms of plant size and canopy control. The sample size is obviously too small to draw definitive conclusions, so I’d really like to hear from other growers who have compared LST vs natural growth on autoflowering plants, especially when using the same genetics, pot size and environmental conditions. I’ll update this diary again in about a month, once the curing process is complete and I can compare the final aromas and tasting experience.

Got a cheap endo scope yesterday app sucks pics a okay so I added a few pics let me know what u think. Anyway plants been good the tallest and the smallest have super strong smell I believe they are closing in from what I can tell I seen alot of cloudy temps and just a few amber on those 2 the other 3 are just now starting to pick up a smell these three are the glueystones im like 90% sure lol. So this will be my first grow that will be going to harvest so figures crossed everything goes smooth I'll keep posting either way.

Week 4: Girls have responded well to nutes. Defoliation started this week. White spots started showing, After research we believe this to be because of our hard water and getting water on the leaves. We also started LST using fishing line, however this did not work so we removed it.

Overall, good first time with this breeder strain - cure will tell everything but first impressions are beautiful - berry dank taste that hits you right away and lasts awhile...don't need much to give you couch lock from this bad boy :) 😏😎🙌

End of week 4, beginning of week 5. This will be my second complete grow in a RDWC system. I have just over 18 months experience in growing. For the first year I had a few plants that I grew whilst doing my homework. I'm still applying my learning's but I think the pictures are enough for me to claim I've done pretty well completely on my own. Still undecided in defoliating but that top shot I have is a pretty damning photo. My idea is to let the plant choose by removing sicker leaves in there that I can pull off easily or feel damp and soft from humidity. In saying that...it's been healthy all through atm. I think the lights below really help in keeping the humidity down a little and also negating the shade response from how thick it is. Anyway, still experimenting, lots to learn.

Day 29 Flower (Day 71) Woohoo! First day of week five of flower and an easy day at that. I just gave the right girl 3 liters of pH 6.2 water and took some pics. I'm still experimenting with bud photography. This time with a tripod but still no additional lights. I also need to take the pics when the lights are off as the flowers look funky under the LEDs. The right girl is slowly starting to bulk up, but the left girl is lagging. That is no wonder, though, considering that she has had much less light due to those space issues. Also, there's a huge quality difference between the lights in each tent. So I'm looking forward to comparing the bud quality that each tent will generate. Day 30 Flower (Day 72) It slipped my mind, but it's been over two weeks since I gave the girls nematodes to get rid of the gnats. As always, the nemos did their job quickly and effectively, and I haven't seen any gnats since. However, to ensure that they stayed gone, I did a second treatment today, mixed up 10 million nemos into 6 liters of water, and gave each girl half at pH 6.6. Day 31 Flower (Day 73) Chill day. I just gave the right girl 3 liters of pH 6.5 water and cut some clones from her. She is deep in flower so I'll try to monster-crop her. Never tried that before but have heard that it creates some really bushy plants. As she already is bushy I'm curious to see how bushy a monster-cropped clone of her will be. She had a few low branches that I left during lollipopping for this reason and I cut four of them with a sterile razor blade, then scraped the lower part of the stem and dipped them in Clonex. They're now sitting in the window with a small LED spot to make sure that they have enough light to re-veg. Day 32 Flower (Day 74) I know that I got a new tent for my left girl only a few days ago, but I decided to upgrade to give her a bit more space. I went to my local grow store today and picked up a tent made by the same company as my main tent (UndrCovrLab). This new tent is also made specifically for my wardrobe, maximizing the available space. I went from a tiny 40x40 cm tent to a "massive" 75x45 cm tent. Still very small but almost 2x bigger. Woohoo! The left girl was squeezed into the 40x40 tent for so long that I had to use some LST to spread her out and increase light penetration now when she has some more breathing room. Speaking of lights, my small ViparSpectra is a bit underpowered now in this larger space, so now I have to consider upgrading that as well. The simplest solution would be to get another ViparSpectra, and while this little light has been performing well, it lacks UV diodes. I'll look around for options. We have gotten hit by a heatwave here, so now my tents are sweltering. The main tent reached 36 degrees C today at one point :/ Oh well, I cannot do much about it except hope that the heat doesn't stress out the girls too severely. The girls are very thirsty in this heat though, and I gave each 4.5 liters of pH 6.5 water. Day 33 Flower (Day 75) All I did today was to give the right girl 3 liters of pH 5.9 water. A bit low as I used too much pH down and then was too lazy to fix it. Day 34 Flower (Day 76) No idea what happened, but an army of fungus gnats invaded my right girl. It's only four days ago since I watered her with Nematodes against gnats, and there were no gnats at all then. A few days later, it is gnat central in my main tent (the left girl in the other tent has no gnats). It's almost like I didn't give nemos to the plant but instead gave her gnats. Weird as the nemos have always worked great in the past. Now I need to start fighting these annoying little shits. Sigh. I'll give nemos another go, and if they don't work, then I'll use some sand. Worst case scenario, I'll use Neem oil, but I really don't want to go that far. I gave each girl 3 liters of pH 6.5 water, and that was it for today. Day 35 Flower (Day 77) The last day of the fifth week of flower and all is (pretty well) well in the tents. The left girl is 103 cm tall (6 cm increase in a week), and she is lagging quite a bit behind the right girl. She is healthy and quite sticky to the touch, but the flowers still have a lot of fattening up to do. I hope that will speed up now when she has a bit more room to spread out so the light can penetrate the canopy deeper. Getting a more powerful light would also help. When in doubt, add more photons! Someone who doesn't need more photons, though, is the right girl. The top bud has been burnt slightly, and there's light bleaching on a couple of colas as well as on a few fan leaves. I removed the driver from one of the lights and raised the light a bit higher. Every centimeter counts when you're running out of space! The right girl increased another 3 cm this week and is now 123 cm tall. I hope that is it as I'm now completely out of room. The gnat army in my main tent is still going strong. So strong that they have now sent out a small expeditionary force to my small tent and started to colonize the area. Sigh. I Will hit the girls in a day or two with nemos, but today I just put up some yellow sticky traps and gave the right girl 3 liters of pH 6.5 water.
