Thank you. Gave her a cocktail to help with stress. Added 1st net for lateral support, not so much now, but for later. Blue light is absorbed by photoreceptor proteins called phototropins, which trigger a hormonal response that causes cells on the shaded side to elongate, making the plant bend toward the light. Try and fill this side a little. Key to a good stretch is making sure the plant is cycling efficiently, with large ATP conversions occurring lights out. For now, I'm keeping light intensity high. A plant will slow its vertical growth in very high light intensities, leading to a more compact form with thicker stems and leaves. This response is a protective mechanism against light stress, which can damage the photosynthetic apparatus and lead to symptoms like leaf scorching, yellowing, and brittleness. Instead of growing taller, the plant invests its energy into creating a more robust, stress-tolerant structure. Providing plants with necessary antioxidants helps protect the photosynthetic apparatus by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) that cause damage from excess light. UV light exposure can impact the xanthophyll cycle by either enhancing its photoprotective role or causing damage, depending on the intensity and type of UV radiation. UV exposure can trigger the synthesis of more xanthophyll cycle pigments to increase the plant's capacity to dissipate excess energy, but it can also cause direct damage, particularly to Photosystem II, and may lead to a decrease in the de-epoxidation state (DEPS ratio) which indicates a reduced capacity to dissipate excess energy. Plants can respond to UV stress by increasing the synthesis of xanthophyll cycle pigments, such as violaxanthin and zeaxanthin, to improve their photoprotective capacity. UV-induced changes in xanthophyll cycle pigments can be linked to a plant's overall tolerance to high radiation stress. The xanthophyll cycle helps protect against photoinhibition, which is especially important when the plant is exposed to high levels of both UV and visible light. High doses of UV radiation can directly damage photosynthetic components, including the proteins, lipids, and pigments in the thylakoid membranes. Exposure to UV radiation can have a mixed effect on the de-epoxidation state (DEPS ratio) of the xanthophyll cycle pigments. In some cases, UV can inhibit the conversion of violaxanthin to zeaxanthin, resulting in a lower DEPS ratio and a reduced capacity for energy dissipation. However, the total pool of xanthophyll cycle pigments may increase, and this enhanced pool size could provide a greater potential for photoprotection despite a lower DEPS ratio. The xanthophyll cycle works alongside other mechanisms, such as the accumulation of flavonoids (UV screens), to protect the plant from UV-induced damage. Blue light repairs 100% UV-induced damage in plants through a process called photoreactivation, which uses a light-dependent enzyme called photolyase. This enzyme uses energy from blue and UV-A light to directly reverse the damaging pyrimidine dimers in the DNA caused by UV-B radiation, a key mechanism for maintaining the plant's genetic integrity. After carbon, light, water, temperature, and nutrients, the limiting factor of a plant's growth is often its own internal factors or the amount of a key ingredient. Chlorophyll concentration is one such factor, as the amount of this pigment limits how much light can be captured for photosynthesis. In response to the UV-B signal, the plant ramps up the biosynthesis of protective compounds like flavonoids, phenolic acids, and anthocyanins. These compounds absorb UV radiation and accumulate in the epidermal layers of leaves to shield inner photosynthetic tissues. The plant may increase leaf thickness or deposit more cuticular wax, creating a physical barrier to the radiation. The plant will produce more enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants to neutralize the reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced by the UV-B radiation. The plant activates enzymes, including photolyases, to repair DNA damage caused by the UV-B. These repair mechanisms are critical for preventing permanent genetic mutations. While protective measures are activated, a high dose delivered over a short period can cause stress that overwhelms the plant's defenses. Photosynthesis is highly sensitive to UV-B. A high dose can inactivate Photosystem II (PSII), damage thylakoid membranes within the chloroplasts, and reduce chlorophyll content, which lowers the plant's overall photosynthetic capacity. Despite repair mechanisms, high UV-B doses can inflict persistent damage on the plant's DNA. One study found that acute, high-dose UV-B had a greater effect on genome stability than chronic, low-dose exposure. The overproduction of reactive oxygen species can cause oxidative stress, leading to the oxidation of lipids and proteins and disrupting cellular function.

The apparent potassium deficiency has got me worried about how to get some into the plants ASAP. Therefore, I have purchased some Xpert Nutrients Bloom Booster, courtesy of Amazon Prime! Sadly, this seems to be of inorganic nature. However, I need to rectify the issue quickly, so this seemed the best option. Another possibility is light burn, as the plants have grown as tall as my tent! 6ft! So I have turned down the lighting to 60%. This seems quite likely as my FBP2 is considerably shorter than FBP1 and FBP3, and this plant does not have the same issues. The new dehumidifier has managed to get the RH down to around 49%. Considering it was up to 99% this week. I definitely am trying my best to avoid the dreaded bud rot! I added a large amount of Silica as the stems are decreasing in strength under the weight, so hopefully that will help. Additionally a Potassium deficiency itself can cause weaker stems, so I'm trying everything, (possibly overkill) to correct my oversights on this. All in all I've learnt many things from this 1st grow. Most importantly the necessity of LST, to prevent the plants from getting so tall, and that will avoid the light stress. The trichomes are still mostly clear through the jewellers loupe. From what I can tell as my eyesight isn't too good. It's difficult to tell milky from clear to me. 21.8.24; I just did a defoliation, I removed many more leaves today 🍃 things are getting super crowded in the 4x4, even with both tent doors open. I adjusted the plants, alternating so that each side of each plant gets correct lighting (as best I can manage)! I gave the plants each; *1ml in 1ltr of dechlorinated water, of Ecothrive Flourish. **2ml in 1ltr of dechlorinated water of Xpert Nutrients Bloom Booster. ****2ml in 1ltr of dechlorinated water, of Cal-Mag. My fan also broke, so I moved my lounge fan into the grow room. It's a lot more powerful, even on the lowest setting, so I tried to disperse it trying as best as possible. watered every other day with pk 13/14 and bio boost, somtimes used others nuts. I have it's still a little too hot, and the humidity reaches 70% especially at night but I have good airflow. The smell begins to become more intense and buds looks fatten a little bit better. i decided do not defoliate anymore until week 7. The Gorilla Fast veggest fast but in flowering seems to be not so fast and this is good for me due to the blackberry flowering in 60 70 days so i will try to harvest at same time.

Week 3 starting off strong No nuts just yet still letting the Nector of the gods and FF soil just be my main base for nuts. Also I add some cal mag and PH balance the water. I will probably start adding some noots toward the end of the week when I start seeing some more growth. For right now I'm thinking I might let them veg for about 6 weeks depending on the growth in the upcoming two weeks. Hope you all are having a safe and fund grown. Make sure you hit the follow button

Girls are growing and growing , gave them another trim as they seem to bounce back 10x harder and bushier lol! Starting to think there may be one to many girls in there so hoping everything stays on track or I'm going to need to upgrade their house! Still unsure on doing a sog or using it as a spacer , sorry about the double photos on both diaries , one of the granddaddy purple plants somehow ended up at the back of the tent when one of the super skunk started tailing off and we had to rearrange their place in the tent , not much to report flowers are coming through nicely 😁 Happy growing 😎

She's done! Whew! I can say that this wasn't my easiest grow. She had some issues in the beginning, due to over fertilizing (see diary) but she managed to produce some beautiful crystallized nuggets. I flushed her for a week but she looked so ready, and she's so loud, I had to chop her down. Stay tuned for the smoke report.

Got these C99s in the mail from female seeds through a Grow Diaries contest : dreams do come true ! "It's So Easy ! " That really speaks to me, and it really is ! At least it should be 🚀 So here we are with the C99s, using 7L pots going to transplant them once, amended my unamended soil with the biotabs line up. Got the biotabs from Grow Diaries aswell, it really pays to ask a lot of questions, folks, especially if you're really interested in the answer ! Biotabs account is @biotabs_f69 on growdiaries, havent said hello to female seeds yet, but they are here too folks ! activated the seeds in a glass with a few drops of the kelp extract concentrate. These all cracked quickly so 100% germination, then rooted in a starter plug tray in the propagation pupperware. Then a day or so later it was time to get to their first pots. Biotabs has instructions on the box which i followed to a T, learned from last time to position the tabs side by side with the seed (not on top of eachother like a psycho which is what i did last time!) , added the myco and the batrex to the soil, the myco also goes in the root plug hole, the bactrex and the startex also goes into the feed, it's all pretty simple and written down in the instructions ! I got a biotabs starter kit for my moms she loved it and figured it out so there you go... Watering like the others 200ml at a time slowly to not compact the soil up to 3 times a day. These will get a few diluted drops of smart protein once this week. These are my first photos ever, let me know if you have any questions ! 🚀

The plant is thriving as it enters its 11th week of flowering. The buds have developed beautifully, and they’re giving off a sweet, lemony aroma that fills the grow space. It’s a scent that’s both refreshing and promising, making me excited for the final product. At this stage, everything looks great, and I’ve decided to start flushing the plant with clear water only. This should help remove any residual nutrients and ensure a smoother, cleaner smoke. I’m planning to continue flushing for the next one to two weeks before harvesting. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this plant turns out. The buds are dense and sticky, and if the smell is any indication, the end result should be amazing. Can’t wait to see how she finishes!
