Good day! The Royal Gorilla - is amazingly strong plant, a lot of branches covered with the flowers. And the most amazing for me - is the aroma. Really... the aroma is so FRUITY and sweet. For now it is Number 1 aroma for me. Big bucket of fruits.:) So nothing to say about the vegetation- there was no issue at all. The Gorilla likes all feeding and watering. I will start adding some PK from next week. Also the flowering begun very fast and right now I have 2 more autoflowers with the same birthdate :) the Gorilla is champ. Day 64 02/09/24 Monday Feed today using de-chlorinated tap water pH 6 with calmag. Day 66 04/09/24 Wednesday De-chlorinated tap water pH 6 today only. Smell is really coming on strong now!! Day 68 06/09/24 Friday Feed again today using de-chlorinated tap water pH 6 only. Day 69 07/09/24 Saturday De-chlorinated tap water pH 6 only today. Mould 😔🤦‍♂️ Absolutely gutted!! Had a very humid past 3 days, wet with no wind... 2 plants have suffered... Auto Orange Bud has lost a side branch. Auto critical orange punch has lost her main colar, and 2 sides, the yeild is going be to now be appalling, but this is due to environmental, not the seed or genetics, as far as they go this was one of the strongest and biggest in the group Day 70 08/09/24 Sunday (END of week) Feed today using de-chlorinated tap water pH 6. ☠️ Auto critical orange punch 🍊👊 Had to remove completely, after isolating the rest of the greenhouse, mould persistently grew on her. The remaining plants after 2 days isolation have been moved indoor to finish underground 600w hps and a more controlled environment.

First time growing so this week went well i'd say. Everything seems to be on time and looking well so we will see how the further weeks play out. Very excited to see the progress.

Hello again, Growdiaries community! 😎 We have reached the end of the vegetative stage with my Critical, and I couldn't be happier with the results. This week has been entirely focused on preparing the 'engine' for the explosive flowering phase that begins this Sunday. 📏 Evolution & Structure: The plant is now 20 cm tall. After the intensive training last week, she has spent these days consolidating those 4 main colas. The canopy is perfectly flat, and the secondary shoots are receiving direct light thanks to a final strategic cleanup. ✂️ Applied Techniques: Selective Thinning: I performed a cleanup in the center of the plant. By removing internal leaves and small shoots that were shaded, I’ve guaranteed total light penetration and better air circulation around that massive fasciated stem. LST Maintenance: Adjusted the ties to keep the structure wide. No more topping from now on—I want those 4 heads to stretch vertically! 💧 Watering & Nutrition (The Big Jump): Volume: Increased to 1 Liter of water per session. Water Temperature: Always watering with lukewarm water (approx. 21°C) to avoid thermal shock, which is vital when growing in an outdoor terrace setup. Fertilizers: Stepped up the dose to 2 ml/L of Bio-Grow. The plant is responding with a deep, healthy green and zero signs of stress. 🌤️ Bunker Environment (Terrace Setup): Temperature: Stable at 27°C with lights ON. Even though external temperatures drop to 1-2°C, my 'closet-within-a-closet' system keeps the minimums at a safe 18-19°C. Lighting: My QBK1500PLUS (150W) is running at 100% in Veg mode, kept at a 60 cm distance to encourage that final pre-flowering stretch. Aroma: A very noticeable 'fresh green' scent fills the tent every time I open it! Next Step: This Sunday is the BIG DAY. I’m switching the timer to 12/12, activating the Bloom switch (adding the Red/IR spectrum), and getting ready for the legendary Critical stretch. Day 35 Flower Hey Growers. Things are going well here, other than the delicious funk that is emanating from my house. The carbon filter is not able to keep up with these beauties and the FastBuds flowering at the same time. It’s also about 5 years old so…..time for a new one. It also doesn’t help that the 4 ft of snow around the house is melting and I have to have the grow room door open for the sump line, but whatever. These girls are just cruising along. I watered with 950 ppm and 1650 was the runoff. I’m noticing a bit of tip burn but I hear that normalish for full spectrum leds. They make the plants draw extra mag, seems like the Epsom is helping with that. I’m getting to a point where I may need to water twice a day to achieve denser quality buds, the next couple weeks will dictate that. Hand watering hydro is a terrible idea!!!!!!!!!! Too late to turn back. I am running the Vipar Spectra XS2000 at the recommended 16” at 100%. I’m also alternating from the right to left side of the tent each day like a poor man’s light mover. I’m noticing leaf edge curl (tacoing) but it’s nothing major and they pointing upwards. They seem happy. All in all I’m happy with how it’s going, just gonna keep it on cruise control and tuck or remove leaves causing problems. Happy Growing 🌱

So week 8 hay .... just been loving these past couple of days, insane smell coming off of these girls, got the whole house smelling of some mouth watering skunky herbs :D Trichomes have been developing very very nicely this week, everything is just getting super frosty !! I did some added defoliation for some better light penetration as these two girls are sitting this cupboard super packed. The pistols are shooting out still and buds are starting to develop noticeably, just really hoping for some nice dense awesome nuggies. Going to add another warm 130Watt CFL soon for some extra kick during their last few weeks of flowering :) Also changed my light schedule to 10/2/10/2 On/off/on/off hours of lighting, along with watering 2L every 3rd day now:) Until next week :D

Feb 18: addendum. Just a note to mention that although the baby bud sites are a plenty, Overall growth isn’t as dramatic as I have seen. I have been pruning fairly regularly through the first few weeks of flowering to expose light to the baby buds below, which is working for sure as they are getting bigger. No trichomes tho on the leaves - or anywhere to be seen. This is different from my last photo grow, a NL #5. Feb 14: Valentine’s Day so just a quick note Things are holding steady - bud sites a plenty! I think I fucked up the weeks. It hasn’t been 4 weeks

******** Week 10 - Feb 10 to 16/20 (Days 64 - 70 from seed popping out) It’s flush week so not much to update really. This week you anticipate the outcome with great hopes and also think about missed opportunities......no different here 😂 😂 😂 Last feed given last week. First good flush this week. I did not use any flushing agent with this girl. Want to get her natural taste and see what she can do on her own. The medium is pretty good with going into the week with a run of 900ppm. She is more dark on the bottom than I would prefer but it will be what it will be. Found an issue my pH pen this week and it will have contributed to some of the stresses this girl went through in recent two weeks. She picked back up this week and is taking roughly 2 days to work through 4L of water. Her run off by the end of the week was in mid 300ppm so we should be good with her feeding from her leaves. The top leaves are fading and giving a yellow with a slight purple on the edges. Combined with he red hairs and different shades in the bud and she is getting pretty🤩🤩 She is fading and looking more beautiful everyday! Will be pushing this girl and don’t anticipate chopping her down before next weekend.....want least day 75 to 77 idea.......see what the week brings. She has beautiful buds but they need more squishing and I want to ensure she can feed on herself as much as possible. I personally prefer the smoke from a plant flushed for two weeks, so that is the goal......only concern is what will happen to tricombs over the next four days or so???? She squished out bud very well over the weekend and has swelled quite a bit. She is getting fat and happy.......putting on the weight and frost this week girl!! Dropped the night temps to 60 degrees and the humidity to roughly 40% at night. Stripped more of her leaves this week. Some are still left where I don’t want to remove the leaves for fear of bruising the bud trying to get it off. 😧 She is such a dense bushy little girl!!! When you shake her and you feel how much she moves the pot you instantly smile👍😆👍 Again, trimming more lower growth on the main stems would have given her little extra to fill in the tops of colas even more.......next time👍 Crazy good genetics is what keeps going through my mind this grow.....impressed......I have to get more FastBuds in my seed collection!!! Little more detail......to come Feb 10/20 - Day 64 - her first flush after feed two days ago. - 6L water with Rezin & Liquid Weight @ 2ml/l = 100ppm and 5.8pH - runoff: 895ppm and 6.1pH. - Good looking numbers for two weeks flush. - no flushing agent used and she is not crazy for ppm in medium and she is not showing signs of toxicity. Feb 11/20 - Day 65 - Nothing today. Feb 12/20 - Day 66 - 2L water with Rezin @ 2ml/l and LW8 @ 1.5ml/L = 75ppm and 5.95pH - her tops appear to be mainly bud now. Not many sugar leaves pointing out anymore. Feb 13/20 - Day 67 - 2L water with Rezin & LW8 @ 2ml/l = 80ppm and 6.15pH - been cool in tent last couple of days......slowed down a bit. Feb 14/20 - Day 68 - Nothing today. Feb 15/20 - Day 69 - 3L water with Rezin & LW8 @ 2ml/l = 100ppm and 6.1pH - Her claw is coming out more. Could she be root bound? - Light is at 18', pH is inline, same when medium is dry and wet, nitrogen hasn't been too excessive?? Feb 16/20 - Day 70 - 3L water with Rezin & LW8 @ 2ml/l = 100ppm and 6.0pH - Pulled a few more lower leaves......she is thick!......she is also getting sticky moving around her buds😀😀 - closer to the end so will keep dropping temps and humidity in tent. - Have a great week all and may your gardens be full of colour and shine!!🙏

What a beautiful strain Orange Hill Special is, nice and bushy, great internodal spacing, sturdy and healthy. Happier and happier with how this grow is going. The less beautiful parts on top are my doing, my blind as a bat FIM destroyed half the top of the plant. More patience next time... The super soil is still performing great and I´m pushing up the dimmer to get the ladies used to more light, very carefully because leaves are folding every time. Some of you might be happy to find my European recipe/shopping list for super soil. I tried to make it with widely offered products throughout Europe. Feel free to use it and elaborate on it. If one product is not available in your country, please check the brands at the bottom, which might be available in your country, and substitute. The only thing one could add to the recipe (which I did but forgot in the shopping list) is some Epsom salt. Fed them again with my permaculture tea, all seem to flourish and smells are starting to come from the plant, with that same distinct dankiness I had in earlier grows with this tea. See the germination page and other diaries for more info on my Perma tea. Now they were big enough, some might even say too big, to start the real training. I always love to give them a little bend the week before, to get used to the idea. With some sterilized bamboo sticks I pushed the plants down to expose their sexy undersides. Week 4 - It’s Friday again, and that means it's update day! Another week has passed, and as usual, there's plenty to report. A lot has happened, and once again, I’m bringing you along on my journey as a total beginner in the world of growing. Every week is a new learning experience, and I’m excited to share what’s been going on in the tent as my Amnesia Zkittlez and Gorilla Cookies continue to grow. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key Growing Parameters -Humidity: 43-55% -VPD: Max 1.4 -Airflow: Always active at level 1, auto-adjusts when needed -Day Temperature: 25-26°C -Night Temperature: 22°C -Light Cycle: 20 hours light / 4 hours dark -Lamp: IONBOARD S24 from AC Infinity (240W) Watering Schedule: -Day 24: 1 liter -Day 26: 1 liter -Nutrients are applied with every watering Light Adjustments: -Light distance now at 50 cm -Intensity increased to level 10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Growth Update The most noticeable change this week has been the incredible growth of the plants. I’ve uploaded some new photos for everyone to see, and it’s amazing how much they’ve shot up compared to last week. The differences in growth behavior between the Amnesia Zkittlez and Gorilla Cookies are becoming even more pronounced. The Amnesia Zkittlez has more than doubled in height since last week, shooting up and stretching outward. Meanwhile, the Gorilla Cookies hasn’t grown as much in height, but it has become noticeably rounder and bushier, almost like a pufferfish. It's fascinating to watch these plants develop in such different ways. While the Zkittlez focuses on vertical growth, the Gorilla Cookies is spreading out horizontally, forming a dense, compact structure. All around the plant, small flower sites are emerging, extending from within the plant and beginning to take shape. This difference in growth styles really highlights the unique characteristics of each strain, and I’m excited to see how they continue to evolve. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Training: LST and Defoliation This week, I’ve also focused heavily on training the plants using Low-Stress Training (LST) and some selective defoliation to optimize light exposure and encourage better growth. I applied LST more aggressively over the past few days, using clips to gently bend the stems of individual branches outward, almost to a 90-degree angle. This technique has helped the plants spread out horizontally, allowing more light to reach the inner and lower branches. I’ve been adjusting the clips nearly every day to refine the structure and ensure that the light penetrates deeper into the canopy. The goal is to encourage outward growth and create more space for the lower branches to thrive. In addition to LST, I began selectively removing leaves. I started with the first set of fan leaves, followed by leaves growing inward toward the plant’s center. These were either shading promising bud sites or simply not contributing to the plant’s energy needs. I’ve also removed the lower bud sites, which likely wouldn’t have developed into anything substantial. This way, the plants can focus their energy on the more promising, higher-up buds that are receiving better light. Throughout the defoliation process, I’ve been careful not to remove too many leaves at once. I’ve only taken off leaves that were either blocking key bud sites or were small and shaded, ensuring that the plant still has enough foliage to continue its healthy growth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nutrients and Watering Routine There haven't been any changes in my nutrient schedule or the way I water the plants this week. I’m still using the same BioBizz nutrients at the recommended dosages with each watering, and the watering process itself remains unchanged. Each plant receives a consistent 1 liter of water every couple of days, and so far, the plants are responding well. However, based on some recommendations I’ve received, I’m planning to introduce CalMag from BioBizz into my watering routine over the course of the next week. This will help ensure that the plants have enough calcium and magnesium, which are essential for strong cell structure and nutrient uptake, especially as we move further into the flowering phase. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Personal Reflections and Lessons Learned As I progress through this grow, I’m realizing how much more there is to learn, especially when it comes to managing light exposure and training techniques. It’s been rewarding to see how the plants respond to LST and defoliation, but I’m still figuring out the perfect balance. Every small change seems to make a big difference, and I’m constantly amazed by how quickly these plants adapt. Being a beginner, this process has been both challenging and exciting, and I can’t wait to see how the flowering stage develops. This journey has been a humbling experience, reminding me that growing plants isn’t just about following steps, but also about observing and learning from the plants themselves. Every day brings new insights and challenges, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see these changes reflected in the health and growth of the plants. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looking Ahead In the next week, I’ll continue to monitor the pre-flowering phase closely. I expect the water and nutrient demands to increase even more as the plants transition into full flowering, so I’m preparing to increase the watering amount to 1.2 liters per plant soon. I’ll also be keeping an eye on the structure of the plants, especially the differences between the Gorilla Cookies and Amnesia Zkittlez. I may begin defoliating some of the lower leaves to give the plants more room to breathe and allow light to penetrate deeper into the canopy. There’s a lot of excitement ahead as the flowering phase approaches, and I’m eager to see how the plants respond to these new stages of growth. Hunt for Phenotypes

Branch broke off, but I actually decided later to put the rest of the plant back for ripening. When I pull the rest I'll update the diary with a new week. Then when I press rosin I'll see if ripening made the yield better or terps improved, etc. This pheno that I have has this quite offensive terpene profile, I would almost describe it as leathery, like the leather in manly cologne that's usually paired with tobacco. As I write this I just took a dab off my third generation plant that I harvested almost two weeks ago now. This run I focused on feeding to maximize terpenes. I did get fantastic yields of beautiful golden rosin, and possibly a more complex terpene profile. That dab blasted my entire throat and sinus with this sort of green, undeniable weed taste, not exactly skunk but definitely a pungent green. No candy, not getting any purple punch, really no sweetness either that you find with a lot of strains these days. Just pure green dank. It's been maybe 15 mins since I took that dab, I'm lying in bed, my sinuses are COATED I can taste it on my entire palate. Can't wait to run some other genetics like this! 😂 Just not my favorite terpene profile I guess. Damn I can appreciate the difference in my old runs and this run though. I always said I wanted to make rosin that punches you in the face with flavor.
